the cat didnt take over her body its herself she went insane in wonderland. Shes the one who actually klled the rabbit you can see flashes of what she did she was trying to deny it. Also, i do believe its a original song as well.
Man the small details in the animatic get me every time. At the beginning when she’s walking you can see her eyes actually start to turn the darker color of blue briefly. And then when the rabbit finds her he looks terrified before running, then Alice finds him dead. The way Dark Alice only takes over the denizens that Alice is actively in front of, how she never runs anywhere, because why would she? She’s wherever Alice is. She’s already there. With her own Cheshire grin always on her face. The way the Queen of Hearts is beheaded and her collar makes what’s left look like a rose. She turns her parents into King and Queen chess pieces, which I think is fun (that sounds weird to say but I mean from a narrative perspective). And that at the end we also get flashes of how she killed the cat, the flowers, the caterpillar, and - of course - the rabbit. And the way the song itself basically ends with Alice begging for help but… it’s too late. She’s cracked.
This is an original song by Lydia! I will say, if you've ever heard some of the original wonderland versions from the books and there's even horror games with this similar concept! Alice in wonderland is a lot darker of a story originally before Disney took it. I hope this helps!! 💝💝
One of my favorite things about this animation is that it's ambiguous. Is the dark version of Alice her, or a creation of Wonderland? Is Wonderland real, or just a figment of Alice's fractured and damaged psyche? Depending on how you look at this, it can either be a cautionary tale of a girl becoming so enraptured by her fantasy that it drives her insane and she begins to disassociate, losing herself to psychosis... Or the story of a girl who finds a place that makes whimsy into reality; bringing thoughts and feelings to twisted life. But as the girl grows madder and madder with every warped encounter, her insanity - like her whimsy - begins to manifest as a Wonderland denizen. The girl, corrupted by the madness of Wonderland, then corrupts it back in turn, twisting it's residents into horrible mockeries and stealing Alice's body to escape into reality - dragging Wonderland behind her, and bringing Armageddon through a looking glass.
