- Peggy's Cove is a small picturesque fishing village southwest of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The community likely got its name from Peggy, the nickname for Margaret from nearby St. Margaret's Bay. The village marks the eastern point of St. Margaret's Bay.
A popular story claims that the name Peggy came from the only survivor of a shipwreck at Halibut Rock near the cove.
Nova Scotia is home to over 150 lighthouses. Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, also known as Peggy's Point Lighthouse, is one of Nova Scotia’s most well-known and one of the most photographed in Canada.
The first lighthouse at Peggy's Cove was built in 1868 and was replaced with the current lighthouse that was built in 1914 and first lit in 1915.

Video captured Peggy's cove, the way it is lots of days in the summer months, fog shouldn't stop you from visiting this beautiful place. Yes stay safe when you visit here , stay off the black rocks. Thanks for the visit we had there together. It was great.
It was a great day and is nice in all weather. It can get a bit too busy at times though but worth the stop.
The drive going to Peggy’s Cove is hauntingly beautiful!!! The landscape is surreal!!! I hope to visit again one day!!
Yes it is a beautiful spot. Driving through all the villages along the coast of NS is amazing. Love it.
Well,I really enjoyed the visit to Peggy’s Cove! It looks like an awesome tourist spot. I love the lighthouse and I do love the sound of bagpipes! There’s nothing like it.
Glad you enjoyed! It was nice to hear the bagpipes for sure. Really nice spot!

This Amazing Wonderful Exploring Peggy's Cove So Cool. Really too Good! Thanks for sharing with us! Stay Connected! 🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍
Thanks for watching! It is an amazing area.
OMG that screen with the fog, lighthouse and bag pipes is amazing. What a lovely town.
Yes it is so nice there and even better in person.
Peggy Cove is really a beautiful place! There is also a memorial for the accident of a Swissair plane who crash 2.September 1998 (Flight 111) near this place! 229 pepole have dyed on this day. This is maybe the reason for the musican who play the swiss Alphorn instrument. This was really a black day for all swiss people! Thank you for sharing this place!
I remember the day it happened and watched it on the news as it was going on. Very sad day. I did stop at the memorial and what a lot don't know is there is a 2nd memorial I also visited down further along the coast. There will be a video coming up on it. Good point about the man playing the horn. Makes sense that is most likely why he was there. Take care!
It's definitely the most beautiful lighthouse I've seen including the slippery rocks around it, quite picturesque! It's nice your mom & dad, & your wife are joining you too. Enjoy your weekend!
It really is a picturesque place. I have been there a few times. This was the first when the weather was foggy but I actually liked the atmosphere. Gave it that true coastal Nova Scotia feel.
Hi Phil, it's great to see you, old friend!!! Thank you so much, Wade!! I'm so glad that you included the safety rules!!
Yes the safety there is very important to state since so many still ignore.
Amazing place! Well filmed and shown! I enjoyed watching your video! 🌊🌊🌊
Thank you I really appreciate it!
Very nice. Peggy's Cove was awesome Wade. Those rocks do look pretty sketchy. Love the lighthouse. That was a cool horn thing too. Awesome tour of the area. So beautiful. Take care and have a great day.
Thanks 👍 It is a great spot. One of the most popular spots in Nova Scotia but yes around the ocean people take too many chances sometimes. Take care!
Sharing the video is very beautiful, good luck my friend 💙💙💙💙💛
Thank you! 😀
Hi Wade! Love Peggy's Cove. Glad to see you made a trip to NS. Well done, my friend, as always. Big like and full play 👍. Thanks for sharing and have a great day 😀.

Very interesting lighthouse, and even more amazing concert on the rocks in the fog 👌
Love walking around the rocks in the fog. Beautiful!
Would totally Live in Peggy's Cove" seems really cozy"!👍💯👍💯😎✌️😁
It is a beautiful little village but it does get overcrowded at times with how many visitors it receives.
Wow ' totally craving clam chowder, and Crab legs "!🤤🤗🤭, And a warm Sweater"👍✌️🥶

Lovely foggy day famous scenery and fantastic your family. Thanks for sharing. Have a peaceful day 👍
Yea it turned out to be a good day with the family. Take care!
Peggy's Cove is one of the most popular tourist spots in Nova Scotia. Not far from Halifax, it is worth the stop but can get extremely busy. The day was foggy but for me it actually gave it that coastal atmosphere that you can expect quite often. I hope you all enjoyed and have a wonderful day!
Peggy's Cove, even though it's Canada, it has the charm of a European village. the rugged beauty is so picturesque, I don't think there are words that could do it justice. This is an amazing video, your videography appears to be very professional.
Yes Nova Scotia has the charm of a lot of European coastal fishing villages for sure and rich history. Love it! Thank you and yes the video doesn't show its full beauty. Needs to be seen in person.
Yet another great location with lighthouse. Thanks for sharing the history, Best wishes!
Many thanks!
*The homes and boats, prior to the lighthouse scenes, have very nice colors. Gorgeous location. The lighthouse area is teaming with tourists. Popular place and scenic too (even with the fog). The platform was a good idea. Thanks for sharing.*
Thank you very much! It is a gorgeous spot and it is a very popular spot for tourists. Have a great day!

Really beautiful place! The lighthouse looks amazing in the mist.
It is a very beautiful place! I enjoyed the weather and fog also. Great atmosphere!
Very picturesque place. I love the intro. Good point on the safety. Tourists are going to those black rocks to get that gram photo. Beautiful place even with the fog. ❤️
Yes it is so beautiful! Tourists seem to go in the water every year unfortunately no matter how many signs are put up.
Very beautiful lighthouse!
Yes it is a lovely place indeed!
Excellent video, the atmospheric conditions are a bonus! Thanks for sharing and have a great week cheers from barnyz

Hello Wade , beautiful lighthouse. I really enjoyed Your great upload:)
Thanks so glad you enjoyed.
My son has been asking to go to Nova Scotia and this is one place on his list. Thanks so much for sharing- looks like a cool place.
Probably the most popular and one of the busiest but is definitely worth the stop. So many amazing places around Nova Scotia though.
@@ExploringwithWade Yes, that was my thoughts... I like less crowds, but sometimes it is worth it. Excited to explore the area and grateful for your recent posts on the area
Very nice foggy day. That is high on our list to visit someday.
East coast of Canada is a great place to visit. Nova Scotia is beautiful.
Nice movie and very interesting place, thanks for sharing :)
Thank you for watching! 😀
Beautiful, but respect the ocean. Got a little bit of fog I see...gotta fill your lungs when you can! I do like the new viewing deck, especially how it is made to look like the bow of a ship. Fantastic! Bruce and Otis
Yea we got a bit of unsettled weather and fog but it was good, I am used to it from growing up there. The viewing deck is nice. Have a great day!
A very nice tour of Peggy's cove. The overcast foggy conditions kinda give the place an eerie feel although I like the charm it brings to it. This is also a stark reminder as to why there are so many light houses in that part of the world. Great content Wade👍.
Thanks very much! I enjoyed the atmosphere with the fog. Yes Nova Scotia has over 150 lighthouses all over. Some very rugged coast.
great video thank you very much for your impressions great greetings from switzerland🖖
Thanks so much!
Wow!!! Such a beautiful place!
It is such a beautiful area to visit!
A very beautiful place. the rocks there are huge - and some of those seams are awesome.
We just got back from Old Scotland. The weather was about the same there all week😍😍
Yes it sure is! Nova Scotia coastline is very beautiful and rocky. Have a great day!
Beautiful was really nice with the fog usually everything is done in the sun
Yes it turned out to be a great day!
Looks like an amazing place
It sure is!
Wow! This is a gorgeous area. I love lighthouses and would love to see this one day. Brilliant! Is it still operational?
Yes it is so beautiful. It is still in operation fully automated.
Nice work as always Wade. What's the deal with the guy and his long horn...? He certainly added to atmosphere.
With the lighthouse in the fog reminded me of San Antonio Bay from the classic movie 🎦🌫️ The Fog.☠️
Looking forward to your next video. 👍
Thank you! At the time I wasn't sure but another commenter pointed out that is an alphorn and used alot in Switzerland and nearby just off the coast of Peggy's Cove there was an airplane disaster swissair 111 and there is a memorial so that makes sense. I remember the day the plane crashed back in 1998.
@@ExploringwithWade Yeah that makes sense alright. What a beautiful thing to do for the lost.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. 👍🍀
The views are amazing. Don't go on the black rock. I do like how the weather seem to be just right when you filmed this.
It is a great place to stop even with how busy it gets. I liked the foggy atmosphere. It fit well with the area for sure.
i grew up down the street. one time a whale washed up on the beach nearby
Everything there almost looks fake, like it’s a movie set or something. Such a unique looking place and that fog gives it such a cozy vibe!
Haha yes it looks like a painting and the fog made it look great.
i feel like this place is a very cold and windy place
It was not too cold but it can be at times on the coast of the Atlantic.
As someone who has almost killed himself on wet rocks I hope everyone heeds your advice. I wonder why you didn’t take your drone out 🤔 😂 What a great atmosphere with that fog though!
Unfortunately there will always be some that don't heed it and the accidents will continue. Haha the visibility was brutal for the drone and I don't want to fly over people. Too busy of a place. There were others that were flying though.
despite those warning signs, i have still seen idiot tourists on the wet rocks and im just thinking in my head, *that person is gonna slip any second now* luckily i did not witness anybody fall into the sea and hope i never do, whenever i go back, i will definitely, i absolutely love Peggy's Cove, Halls Harbour is also a really cool town, and Lunenburg.
Yes every year unfortunately no matter what warnings or signs they will still go down there and take chances. Yes so many beautiful little towns and villages all over NS. Love it.
