It's hard to believe this channel has only 3 subscribers (now 4). I've encountered the Calkin-Wilf tree before, but without such a deep exploration. It's nice to see how all the nice properties of the tree (all numbers appear there, each only once and in reduced form) become easy corollaries once we have the right description (the two-way algorithm). And the math one can learn along the way is quite impressive. Thanks!
I'm currently co-teaching a course with Neil Calkin and we did quick search to find a video explanation of the tree since it pertains to the course. We BOTH really, really liked this video and the use of binary expansion and continued fractions as you explained it.
The video it's amazing I enjoy it very much, but I have one doubt. What hapends when the fraction "1/0" apears in the tree, when you whant to find the negative numbers 😅?
Amazing! The application for the Golden Ratio was especially mind-blowing!

Now 1010 subscribers ... in binary. 😅

Great video! It's amazing to see how many properties does this sequence have!
Great explanation!
TNX!
