I’m very torn between this and the Hamilton khaki field mech. Two very different watches but I feel hamilton is more versatile while the overall size of the marathon I feel is perfect. I also have a 36mm marathon MSAR which has the same disk as this but when you like something you like it.
I have been looking at Marathon for quite some time, however, they were usually out of my price range. As an Army vet, Marathon has a U.S. Army version of this watch on their site for $315. A sapphire crystal, eta2801, tritium and compelling design, it was a no brainer bang for buck watch considering this watch usually exceeds $700.
The Bulova Hack could be an option (a friend of mine owns one and really likes it), though I believe that's 38mm so it would be a bit larger than this.
I love the ETA's and they are being replaced by the Stiletta. Marathons ETA28224-2 in the GSAR has already been replaced by Stiletta SW200. I will not buy Stiletta or Seagul mov'ts
I've heard Swatch Group has throttled outside supply more and more on ETA in order to keep the capabilities in-house to the Swatch Group. Have you been burned by the other movements? I've never owned anything with a Seagul but I've had a few Sellitas and they've all been fine (except one that was highly modified by another entity and they acknowledged screwing it up versus being a flaw with the base movement).
To bad nice watch but 3atm ? 😂 at this price no way . To small , not enough water resistance, strap 16 mm and no option for quartz . No thanks . To each there own .there's Much better for the money

It's an interesting brand. Glad you found a version at a good price-point!
True field watch i love it
Happy New Year Dennis.
Happy New Year!
I know they wanted to keep with tradition by not making it a screwdown crown, but I think they should've made that a feature for the quartz version.
For this money at least 100 meter wr. Obviously these Mil Specs were thought up by some guy behind a desk who has never been out in the field.
Love to get one and the 36mm GSAR...but the price and tritium tube thing is a turn off. BOLDR does a field watch that I think is better value.

Actually there is a quartz version
