    Great video... thanks for making installation easier. I do have two suggestions that might help with the tricky matter of popping out the airbag. Instead of poking a screwdriver into the hole, I found that using an Allen Wrench worked better at catching the clip. Second, if you push two allen wrenches into the two holes at the same time, I found that the air bag pops out much easier.

      Thank you!
      I actually recommend a flat head but only has a screwdriver to demo.
      Oh wow I love that!!! Great idea, I was struggling overall to get that airbag out lol

    Can confirm on the pliers, can confirm on removing the airbag on the second try to remove it.
    It came out easy the first time. Forgot to put back the bolt before putting in the air bag.
    Spent 20 minutes trying to do it. Gave up, removed the cables, and removed the wheel. It was getting caught up on the bottom , pushed from out the back😂😂😂 in theory using the double driver method should move the retention bar just enough to be pull out.
    If the top two are out, it puts friction on the bottom pin making it hard for it to come out. It may be a two man job

    I noticed you just transferred over the middle compartment but I got the one with the carbon fiber and I noticed that it does not even fit. It’s not even the correct sizing. I’m trying to get a hold of them right now because I’ve already did all this work and now I have to put the old one on.

    Do you have to unplug 12v battery in front?

      I think you just turn off power via the screen.

    My Model 3 has no heated steering wheel. On Amazon, the yoke without heating is $200 more expensive than the option with heating. There is also a $100 coupon for the one with heating, bringing the cost to $199 instead of $499 for the non-heated one. Can I just get the cheaper and just not use the heating connector?

    • @JeffersonReviews
      @JeffersonReviews  Рік тому +2

      Yes you can, my car doesn’t have a heated steering wheel option either and I got the heated wheel. You just don’t plug that cable in and it’ll still work perfectly fine.

      @@JeffersonReviews Sorry for the late response. Yes, it worked fine. Now, I got a Model Y with heated steering and will be swapping wheels the the same Yoke.

    It’s been a few months now. How’s the yoke held up and how’s it been for control compared to the wheel? My stock wheel’s “leather” has been bubbling and Tesla won’t replace it under warranty, so I’m considering a yoke instead…

      I am still loving it! I’ve been busy and have not made a video for a full review but I love it especially when it comes to long road trips.
      I rented a Tesla with a regular wheel for a road trip and I missed the yoke wheel. Visibility, auto pilot especially when you rest your hand on the bottom wheel with a flat wrist compared to the round wheel where your wrist is bent is much better and less painful.

    I am trying to remote the airbag but so far it doesn't come out completely. It is lose but I am afraid to push to hard and break something. I need more instructions. 😩

    • @JeffersonReviews
      @JeffersonReviews  6 місяців тому

      I know exactly how you feel, there’s 2 springs there that’s keeping the airbag in place. Once you loose both springs, that’s how you’ll be able to remove it. You can remove it without releasing that tension.

    Can you help because I got a bunch of warnings and a grinding sound, then after I had it on, it was trying to brake automatically whiles telling me I couldn’t access some autopilot stuff.

      oh wow that does not sounds good at all. Have you tried performing a soft or a hard reset on the car. I have not encountered this so I am unable to help. Have you tried reach out to Zimablue for assistance?

      No on both questions. The only thing I didn’t do and the instructions suggests is the power, cutting of the power.

      @@ghwebdesign just gotta check the years that the after market parts fit on when purchasing them. I think after 21 or 22 (been too long to remember). But after a certain year of teslas, they will f up your car. So you can only do this on models before that. I have a 2019 and it works perfect. Better quality, feel for road, and comfort than the default steering wheel that the cars come w
