Ukha (Уха) is a clear Russian soup, made from various types of fish and root vegetables. Ukha has been part of the Russian cuisine for hundreds of years. It’s a simple, rustic soup that is delightfully light and flavorful. The fish is perfectly tender and flaky. Light, but full of flavor; a major comfort soup. You can also use a freshly caught fish also, but would need to remove the bones after fish is cooked. This recipe serves 8-10 people.
I love soups like this. It makes me think of some of my favorite Korean fish stews, my version of comfort food =)

Hi Alla. Your soup looks delicious, yum. My mom makes a similar soup, but she uses the fish head for flavor, lol
+In The Kitchen With Jonny yeah we can in original recipe use a whole fish or fish head and then remove the stock, this is more of quick and easy recipe :D hehe
Definitely! Fish head and bones when making the broth. Your mom knows what’s up!

+Simply Nataly thank you sweetie :) yes i love it!! especially in winter!
I'm cook in ship i try your this soup recipe my Russian captain very happy Thank you please more soup recipes
i think adding the fish at same time as potatoes is better, doesn't need to any longer than that. Overcooked salmon isn't good. but otherwise great dish and great video, nice and short. thanks
Thank you very much 💕
it reminds me of "Sayur Sop" From Indonesia :0
Oh nice
I'm making this today but with trout.
Enjoy :)
Interesting take, not bad it has correct flavors.
The classic country version you'd use fish scraps/ poor quality fish.
In this soup it's easy to pick out the bones.
Nothing wrong using cod / salmon, just a upscale recipe.
Hehe yep
Looks absolutely awesome! If I don't have fish right now, are other kinds of meat (pork, beef) useable?
Net
I do think the fish will be overlooked after 15+10 min of cooking.. Unless it's been cooked on a very low heat , simmering... Other than that great recipe:)
+Andrius Mostauskas yeah it was simmering on a very low heat and it was good, not overcooked :) u can even see from the video whole pieces of salmon :)
I know ukha from day r
Does the fish not get over cooked? Or do we need to over cook for the soup broth to be good?
+Gopal Menon no it doesnt, dont cook more than 20-25 min, and its prefect :)
If only I could reach it 🤤...
hehe
Do you have a recipe book, Alla? I would buy it! (By the way, my mom’s name is Alla too :))
Ooh that’s so cool :) Hehehe not yet
I live in a tropical area. Any substitute for celery?
just exclude it :D
nice! British people just add chicken stock to water or tomato to cream...you guys are so much more creative 😉
+Out The Box TV hahah thanks :D yea this is quite a simple soup actually :D haha
Traditionally this would've been a fish head soup I believe.
Sure
