      Crazy thing is, if they'd actually planned that and his linemen had thrown a couple blocks he'd have picked up the first down. It was open field, he just hesitated way too much

    Some of ya'll don't get the play call was a punt. He went off and had the audacity to call a play for himself at a horrible time. Leading to an easier score on the other end. Also in a title game. That is insanely selfish in the ultimate team sport. Thats why Dabo lost it. Mistakes happen but showing terrible character is completely controllable.

    • @RogerThat902

      Eh...most of these have reads built in where if the punter sees open grass he can go. NOW usually it's a "you better be right" situation, but he didn't call his own number. He most likely was just not understanding the situation in trying to read something that was absolutely not there on 4th and 15 lol

    • @mrdgenerate
      @mrdgenerate 16 днів тому +1

      Maybe dabo was mad bc they did call it and the punter stutter stepped like he was going to throw it when you can't throw it anyway bc too many ppl are down field bc it was a called run.

      I don't know about having terrible character....I understand that a punter never gets any recognition and he wanted to get a big play for his team...but sometimes u gotta use her head and realize that he wasnt going to make it and just punted at the last second..

  • @jasonluong3862
    @jasonluong3862 16 днів тому +178

    Even if his run was successful to get 1st down, he would still get an earful from the coach. It was 4th down and 15 from the scrimmage at the 30-yard line in his team's territory. He was 15 yards behind scrimmage, meaning he had to run 30 yards to get the 1st down -- without any teammates to block. He's not a running back. So the odds of this fake punt to be successful is virtually zero.

    • @landolockss
      @landolockss 13 днів тому +4

      He was 1000% wrong. But you are wrong in your assessment of his intentions.
      They were running a strong left side punt return. They had them backed up and were looking for a return. The punter saw and knew this. He saw the entire left side of the defense open and was looking to stall for a pass but it wasn’t a called play so no one was looking for it in time.
      He wasn’t trying to run 30 yards, but he was wrong nonetheless

      @@landolockssthat’s completely wrong lol. He didn’t look for a pass if no one is expected to pass 🤦‍♂️ it’s a punt… none of his teammates would look back at him during the play, unless he tells them he is going to pass…which he did not

By that time the defense was already on him so he had no choice but to pull it down and take the run.

      Humble opinion that’s cool and all
      My cousin Clemson fan told
      Me
      It was 10
      Plays later
      Thirdly if punter makes one mistake get the fuck over it as coach
      It’s defense fault for not stopping offense not a punter
      Omg if everyone paid attention two linebacker in middle Whl gave up their blocks didn’t do that
      Punter has 12-17 yards running for free
      Which regrades of yards to make
      He would have had chance
      I said don’t bash punter after defense fault have good day

    ACC Championship, and like they said a playoff bid on the line. We’re 12-0, trying to win the conference, you just can’t do that. People don’t take ACC teams seriously, FSU went 12-0 and got left out. This just wasn’t the time or place to do something like that. I see Dabo getting heat but we’ve seen Saban do the same thing. It’s a standard and that’s how you win MULTIPLE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
