Most of you probably think of their weeby wonderkid, TenZ - arguably the most mechanically gifted Valorant player on the planet.
Or maybe you think of ShahZaM, the big-brain IGL behind the team’s success. Maybe some of you think of dapr teabagging his opponent’s lifeless bodies, or SicK clutching up round after round.
But you probably don't think about this guy.
Meet Jared “zombs” Gitlin, the monotone mastermind who might just be the heart of Sentinels’ championship roster.

Honestly true. He facilitates his team with his utils (smokes, pull, etc). His smokes are the ones that make sure players like tenz, shahz, or sick as duelists can entry first without being shot from a million angles. His pull and concuss on certain spots where enemies usually stands are the ones that make it way easier to clear that site. Him on spectre also HITS DIFFERENT. Honestly everyteam needs a strong and solid team player like him.

LOL. That's how selfless he is. He was also the one who had to defuse the spike on their last match in iceland finals while the rest of them were celebrating by hugging each others. If zombs didn't defuse that bomb, they might go to OT and who knows who would win.

Yep. Also it's usually the people who don't really understand the game are the ones who don't appreciate him. I mean what he said is true, a great smoker player is sooo hard to find yet so crucial for the team. Even in rank, it's so rare to see people who actually want to play smoke while also being really great at it. Most ranked demons even in radiants are jett mains or reyna mains. A solid and strong team player is a rare gem for sure.
I wouldn't say most crucial. For me the most crucial is Shahzam. The dude must spend hours analysing opponents and coming up with strats and counter strats especially considering that unlike other teams Sentinels don't have a dedicated coach and stuff.
@@zest7812 zombs is the reason Shahz can confidently IGL, as an IGL myself I can say VERY confidently a good player on smokes playing selflessly and just a pure team player makes or breaks the game, I can make a bad read and counter call and our smokes will still pull through. Without zombs shahz couldn’t do what he does.
I remember when I was hardstuck gold and couldn't rank up, I realized I had one agent contract left, astra, so I played a ton of games, unlocked her. Then I felt that controller is the perfect role for me. Now I'm Dia 2

I really like him cause he played viper my main after the shift in meta with the viper buff. Plus hes a really chill guy and not as toxic as other players hahaha.
I didnt touch any duelist since i started playing im comfortable with other roles but duelist is just a no go for me

man I love seeing his journey tbh. I've seen him suffer in OW t2 scene and missed a lot of chances and not get picked up and being underestimated. Now he's top of the world.
I relate with zombs. I don't like playing in the lime light and I am totally fine with letting others shine and provide the footing they need to do it but at the same time, I make sure I'm not just supporting but also have the capacity to take on the lime light if need be.
This video is perfect. Zombs is such an important player for Sentinels. I kinda have the same playstyle. I just wish I had some of his talent.

the sentinels team is just the most well rounded team in history everyone fits into a role with TenZ being the wonderchild although slightly incosistent, shazham with his insane IGL skills, sick and dapr being incredibly consistent players and zombs as the best controller player in valorant esport

other way around for me i just knew zombs played for sens but i had no idea what was happening in apex esports
The other day i was thinking who the most impactful player is for SEN. In my opinion its Shazam just because his leadership ability and being an ingame coach sets him a part. But outside of that i could not decide between the rest of the team. they are so good at their own roles it's absolutly amazing. Zombs specifically the amount of clutch plays he pulls off wont show in the KDA. There are so many situations where he either holds the sights by himself to delay the attack or clutch 1v1s and 1v2s its crazy. The guy is a monster.

Ok real talk, I get that it's meant to gloss over some things to keep the flow. But like zombz spent 90% of his overwatch career as an off tank. From at least the point where he joined faze he was an off tank (at the time fazes dps were twoeasy, sdb, carpe and lui) most of zombz success in OW came from playing off tank so the transition to playing supportive hard anchor smokes really aint as extreme as this makes it sound.
I like zombs gameplay, laid back, neutral and smoker. Only few people realize that its not always about the frag, things like blocking vision and buying time for your team and holding a site on your own is as much as satisfying as killing an enemy.
Zombs lowkey my inspiration I auto pick smokes all the time for any stack bc i feel like most people hate it. I enjoy playing smokes and I love that someone out there at the very top is one of the best controllers out there

Some constructive criticism: the production value of this video is insane. I especially love the various amounts of perspectives and media that went into this (game footage, interviews etc.)
However, I think the script shows a high rate of redundancies. For example, phrases along the lines of „Zombs finally played an agent that suited his actual, chill personality“ were repeated more times than I could count.
