This is so exciting! I'm really looking forward to the future of public transit with this plan in mind...I can't wait to see what it brings to the city.
I'm ready for commuter rail!! As an individual who lives in Durham and works in Raleigh, this project would be immensely valuable to me and my commute! So tired of dealing with driving and traffic D:
Great news! Let's do it!! I live in Clayton and would enjoy traveling by trail. Johnston County will need to invest in bus services instead of large areas of unsightly parking lots near trail stations. And don't forget Selma. Growth in eastern Johnston county is on the move. Whoopie!!!
How about a bus system that equals cities of less than half our size? The bus system is abysmal. Why not work on that? If I want to take a bus to the art museum, it would take me an hour and 20 minutes, and 20 minutes of that is walking. It would take me 11 minutes by car. The rail system would do nothing for most people in Raleigh. They're not going to drive downtown so they can take a train to RTP.
Forreal, I can see downtown Raleigh but the closes bus stop is a 15 minute walk with no sidewalks lol Hell, the buses would be totally usable if we just build more sidewalks
The mayor and her gang (some members of council) can't even approve decent bus shelters -- OR improve the bus system. Would be nice to start with that. But there's probably NO MONEY IN IT FOR THE MAYOR, so she's not interested.
What a horrible idea! Let's take people's property and tax a bunch of other people to build something that NO ONE will use. A $1,800,000,000.00 pork barrel spending project. And that's assuming that there is NO corruption or kickbacks, etc.
You do know commuter rails have probably the highest success rate of any rail based public transportation. What would be a waste of money would be a Light Rail which is what they proposed previously for Durham-Orange. Not only does that not service the densest part of the triangle you could save way more money and cover more ground on a commuter. Every city that has commuter rail in the US has benefited from it massively.

Not only is that not personal or an attack, it was an empirically arrived conclusion. So no, your poor excuse for fallacious standing is unfounded on any logic or rationale.

Really cool video! I’m excited to see commuter rail come into the area!
Great Idea! Commuting to work (RTP) by train/light rail would be the best!
We need this yesterday!

Hope to see it in Clayton, NC!
Why are you not planning to have it stop at the airport. That makes no sense.
Yes! Please build this project! Ignore the NIMBYs and car-addicted suburbanites. They don't understand passenger rail.

They beem talking about this for years now im just over it
don’t understand why this wouldn’t run as a regional rail. service at least once an hour all day would be much more useful

Digging deeper it seems you have Alt-Right chauvinistic sympathies tho, so maybe trying to convince you of anything is pointless.
@@AlexSciChannel Nice personal attack. I have totally been convinced by your superior logic and reasoning.
