Continuing the annual tradition, today I present one of my favourite songs from one of my father's favourite bands - Supertramp. I think we just about played the Breakfast in America record to death back in the day, but Even In the Quietest Moment was the first CD of theirs I bought, and the one that really grabbed me - especially it's epic conclusion.
Fool's Overture is a piece I've wanted to tackle for a long time, but the question always was - how? I was torn between trying to recreate every part - trying to create my own version, crafting a solo piano one - and I just kept bouncing back and forth. Well, with only a few hours left on the clock, I decided "Bugger it, time to bite the bullet" and just went for it with this off the cuff, one-take live piano interpretation. A good excuse as any to dust off the old "Progressive Piano" title.
