I discovered Dance 2 Trance in 1992. It was not too hard. Music Television was playing MUSIC. And it was there. And "Moon Spirits" is one of the greatest trance albums, but is really hidden gem. Remixing P.A.N. (originally spelled as P.ower of A.merican N.atives) is a safe path. One needs to be really bad to ruin this track. Otherwise the original genius of Jam el Mar and DJ Dag sells the new version as well.
It's from 1992. The original track was an instrumental. And it was titled as "PAN" as the pan pipe sounds in the track. They just forced it to be an acronym of "P.ower of A.merican N.atives". It was a hit in the clubs, but to be played on MTV (at that age it was actually playing music), all tracks needed lyrics. So D2T teamed up with Linda Rocco and created an almost nonsense lyrics sung in the way of Rozalla's "Everybody's Free" (which was a big hit those days). Lame lyrics happened to any good instrumentals in the 1991-1996 era. Shame, but what can we do.
