You sir are the cat's meow! Your video was very thorough and concise. I very much appreciate you mentioning and showing the required tools and the proper torque specifications for the job. Thank you so much for sharing.
Massive thanks! Just used these steps on my 2011 MB Sprinter 3500 RV. Got the part from AutoZone in western Ma, $200ish, it was whatever brand they had. We're about to leave on a trip so no time to be picky. Mine was a little simpler: no wire-harness bolt to remove, no zip tie to cut and replace. Total job complete in about an hour, even allowing time for hand-cramps to subside. Big ups!
Just followed your video and replaced the starter in my 2007 NCV3 2500 144". Thanks! It's been sitting for a year, and I have it back in time for spring camping!
Best video on starter motor replacement. Thank you so much. Took mine off and waiting for the Bosch to come in... Waiting for it is a killer... Rest of other videos I have seen from other providers are junk.. this is to notch... Ty
nice work. Almost talked myself out of the job from the sprinter forum. Might be good to mention sprinter year you have. Next vid wait for the neighbor to finish lawn duty. Subbed for other sprinter vids.
Beautifully done....just great. This sets a high standard for how such videos should be done. I'm about to go to the same place....this was so welcome a primer! Thanks!
Ok, UT, how many miles did you get out of your original starter and what were the symptoms of the failed starter. Was it bearings, solenoid or an electrical short in the starter?? My '06 had problems with the solenoid not working. Basic starter still good. Most starters in USA are Bosch. Valeo brand that MB uses has the two long screws on the outside of the casing and Bosch has internal. Thanks for the video. My starter solenoid began to fail at 185K miles.
my pro help is what got me to this point they changed the alt put wire on wrong put it next to manifold and it burned starter out of course they don't think so I have a 10 what is yours and thanks I never even looked on bell house for bolt
What a fantastic video. Great lighting, no fumbling. Thanks for making it look easy my friend.

Thanks for the video. Didn't miss a step and told me all the tools I'd need before I started.

Great video brotha! Thank you
How did you know your starter was bad? Did you get a single click sound or grinding or something else?
Thanks for the video. Well done.

Thanks for the video.
My starter solenoid began to fail at 185K miles.
Mine started to make a strange growl noise for 2 seconds at startup at 160K miles 2004
@@strictlybamboo Sounds like starter bearing and weak solenoid that needs attention. The starter is not easy to wrench.
These guys in the background noise are going up and down on the blower throttle and that wears out the carb lots sooner.
Those stubby handle-flex joint ratchets are a pain in tight places as we can see.
my pro help is what got me to this point they changed the alt put wire on wrong put it next to manifold and it burned starter out of course they don't think so I have a 10 what is yours and thanks I never even looked on bell house for bolt
13mm & 10mm for the wires on the front
@@thanelach oops I get ahead of myself I have a 2010 I really hope my bolts are on bell seems easier but nothing is easy thanks again for vid
That is a Bosch brand starter, by the way.
Core when i open 13 bolt rip piece of selnoid off.
Much less to just have it and the alternator refurbished ;)
