They actually offered him the most money they could in an extendion (just before the start of the season) and P declined it because you could get a bigger contract later (if you get all nba, all star, awards etc). So, Siakam was betting on himself to get those awards and turned down the extension

I kept telling Warriors go get Siakam for Wiggins or Kuminga. Siakam is what they needed badly when Curry and Klay shots are not falling in or slowed down. He can give you that stable punch from his versatility until Curry and Klay regain their shots.

You're right but i dont think the raps would have done it. One thing about trades is you cant wait until your guy is playing like garbage then start demanding trades around the league.
