Can I just say: this is probably the best of the senate/gubernatorial debates I’ve seen this season, and I’ve watched quite a few. Respectful, qualified candidates, (mostly) substantive and on topic answers, and well moderated. Excellent job all around.

The danger of methamphetamines is the manufacturing just like bootlegging you don't have a pure substance of a pharmaceutical grade and no way to trace it down which makes Manufacturing very illegal if methamphetamine is managed the proper way where a person gets 8 hours of sleep plus eating properly just like they do in the war but the trouble is the education of methamphetamines are not out to the public so say that a kid gets a hold of methamphetamines he runs himself in the ground not eating for months and no sleep and that's why it kills over dead

I have 4 kids in kansas public schools. My oldest is 9th grade, my youngest is in 1st. The longer we stayed in a brick and mortar schools the worse they seemed to get in the USD500. We were told that the best performing schools received the least amount of money. There is no motivation for the good schools to keep it up. Not to mention the behavior problems that constantly disrupt learning for everyone. On top of all that they did lockdown the district, for a long time, off and on, and had practically no online lesson plans . We chose to take our learning to online public schools. The curriculum difference is vast. My kids struggled with catching up. My youngest started school with the online program, he has not struggled to learn and is very strong in reading and numbers. Education is not as good as they claim. It's not just a problem of money. It's the classrooms are zoos. Teachers are babysitting too much, and they don't enjoy that. Sad teachers are not good teachers.

Actually, 59% voted to allow the Kansas Supreme Court to legislate from the bench, meaning the Court could create new law not on the books and not explicitly in the Kansas Constitution simply by means of issuing a legal ruling based an the majority opinion of the Court, thereby circumventing the Kansas Legislature in the process.

Fentanyl is only an issue in Western Kansas. Most of the population is on the Eastern side so Schmidt is making a huge gamble by making his campaign all about drugs and forcing kids to go back to school during Covid. And of course, the only way to alleviate inflation will be to get off of oil which Schmidt doesn't want to do. He rails about immigration, but a lot of the farmers in Kansas rely upon undocumented workers for dairy farms, harvest season, and butchering plants. The anti-mexican racism angle seems to work on the Trumpsters but I'm not sure if normal "small-gov" Republicans care that much. I think they're more concerned whether the drought is going to force them to have to sell their farms. It's too bad, Schmidt actually seems like he'd be a good candidate if he worked a little harder on his solutions.

    • @willdabeast5509
      @willdabeast5509 Рік тому

the only way to alleviate inflation is stop govt spending, supporting oil is not really related. Crime cartels, trafficking, and kids dying by drugs are a bit more important than farmers wanting cheaper labor. Cannabis laws in Kansas need attention. Decriminalization and path to medicinal status is necessary, to focus on bigger issues such as fentanyl and human trafficking. Restrictions obviously need to be in place to tax it and keep things safe and regulated. There are many Kansan veterans and medical patients that would significantly benefit from some form of legalization. Being an agricultural powerhouse (surrounded by states that have decriminalized/legalized to some degree), Kansas would benefit significantly with jobs and taxes associated with the industry. This should be a bipartisan topic everyone can agree on. Let free Americans make their own health decisions on marijuana, not the government!

But I refuse to vote for a two face person. First he's against Biden then he's for things Biden does. I doubt very much he knows who he represents party wise. Maybe he should read his notes more to remind him. She's made more changes for Kansans since Brownback and tried her best to clean up his messes he left us with. He will only bring this back and put us back in same boat. As someone said below vote your heart not your delegated party. Unless you all want to be ruled by republicans again if he's put in office so be it. I never voted trump in and feel no regret or blame on me for it. but to those of you who did just remember the way things have changed is trumps fault and if you can't see that then you can't see right way to go here either. I will vote my party only because I have seen the changes, and felt the changes too, and I believe she will continue to make Kansas better if we Kansans stand behind her. Don't stop believing now keep on going forward and know we can make a change and have and will.

So are many state policies of her fellow party governors. I don't think she's done a bad job, even if I don't agree with everything she's done. In Topeka alone I could name a half dozen streets that need to be finished. What about living costs? Rent specifically is ridiculous given that the minimum wage hasn’t moved to a “live-able” point in what feels like ages. Personally I haven’t had any problems with health care but I know people who have, why won’t either of them go into that? What about petty crime in the state? I mention this because education is the cornerstone of life in suburban Kansas City. Because I was a graduate of the Johnson County School District, I got into KU w/out breaking a sweat and attended grad school in Boston. And that's why Sam Brownback's name will be mud for another eight years for ruining that school district. I was living on the West Coast when I heard the news and thought the people of Johnson County must be pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I won't go into the usual reasons why I can't stand these GOP candidates. But what I liked about Margret Kelly was that she kept saying I'm focused on Kansas and talked about issues relating to Kansas. Meanwhile, her opponent kept mentioning President Biden, crime and The Border. Man, this is Kansas! The border is nowhere close! I'm not huge Hillary fan but she was right about one thing, Republicans make the mess and Democrats get elected to clean it up. @@jordandthornburg That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. When Clinton left office, this country had an $80M surplus. Granted he continued George H.W. Bush's tax hikes which cost him re-election. He also enacted the crime bill which took assault weapons off the streets. During W's term, he started two wars, drained the surplus, the assault weapons ban expired, and the housing crisis erupted. I'm sure, for those reasons, Obama was elected. Then, there's Trump w/Covid and the corruption that's still in the news. For me, there's no both sides. When Democrats are elected, people generally do better. From my personal experience, I was able to afford college under the Clinton presidency. I paid more taxes under W's administration, and I received health care and tax refunds every year under Obama and Biden. My mom was able to go to law school during the Clinton administration. And she bought a brand-new SUV and a house under Obama w/great interest rates. So, you might think my thinking is shallow, but I and my family have benefited under Democrats.

You are bringing in your philosophy of government with your statement about assault weapons ban. That isn’t established it is objectively good. It needs to be argued and debated. That is my point. Was it bush’s fault the housing crisis occurred? I honestly do not know but I doubt it. This is what I meant by shallow style thinking though I meant no offense by that. We need to think deeply about these things, not just who is in charge when bad stuff occurs unless a causal line is drawn from them to the issue at hand.

It doesn't matter how close the border is. As someone who used to live in Texas, homelessness was worse because of how overpopulated we were and undocumented immigrants were constantly being flooded in the Texas. It was hard to make ends meat. Not to mention overpopulation is the reason why prices go up because of how much consumption is being used and how much housing is being filled up. Open Letter - Human Scale
    Democratic Platform
The Democratic Party will begin by defining the most fundamental concept known to this citizenry. We will define three words “We the People” from this date forward, shall mean whoever is within the boundaries and jurisdictions of these United States and wishes to remain shall be granted citizenship.
The Democratic Party shall have three dimensions; just like a gear train of a timepiece engineered to track human time, the following proposition will track human progress. Federal focuses on infrastructure and International Affairs, State infrastructure and promoting corporate structures (States acting as trustworthy nonprofits returning gains to people), and Local promoting and protecting corporate structures. All public buildings shall be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so that the public can seek assistance or shelter.
Funding the government, at the federal and states that have an income tax, must be fixed, and legal and natural person tax schemes must mirror each other. Those entities that rely on property taxes, the sale price of the property’s valuation. This valuation and rate stay until the next sale. (Note: In times of inflation, the cost of goods sold for each firm will be examined, and when determined, if higher prices are warranted, no action. If aggressive pricing is evident, then it should all be taxed.)
The Democratic Party understands that we have the infrastructure and the systems to cultivate any number of individuals into productive citizens. Our hope for the future is that some of these who migrate will stay while others get dispersed with the intellectual seeds of our culture. Simultaneously we will have a foreign policy that encourages trade relations that accomplishes two things immediately. The first and most apparent is that trade sees no barrier. The second and less obvious is to allow the financial flow to be such that we elevate all societies that come into a trade relationship with these United States to the highest standard known to us.
The Democratic Party will do this not by creating a new legal scheme but by using legislation that is already in place. This Democratic Party will use the Commerce Clause as the main construction tool to construct new paths to economic success. As a check, we will use the first amendment to encourage discourse in case problems should arise.
The Democratic Party has identified the legislation that will be our core piece of legislation; we now introduce a corporate structure that is “the most favored trust.” This entity will have a birth date, specific purpose, management team, the ability to raise capital in any market, no tax liabilities (except for sales tax for the given state and local municipality), and a definite, well-defined lifespan of 75 years, the management team shall be charged with the duties of managing the entity one year at a time, dispersing monthly dividends minus the following year expected costs. This management team will not engage in any investment or other enterprise; this will be the sole domain of the investor. Those entities that have been allowed to invest in other entities will do so through a separate and distinct facility will no day-to-day impacts on investing entity. They will receive a dividend if one is warranted. Members of the management teams/supervisors, exempt or not, will be licensed. (Note: In order for this society to grow into a greater social being all income should be dispersed at the same time. This creates an economic pulse.)
The Democratic Party, will ensure that all employees in the service of the various social service organizations that provide social benefits treat clients with respect and cordiality that all humans deserve. The party will extract all service workers who are known to be abusive and withhold needed benefits.
The Democratic Party, to ensure economic stability, will also structure the various bank institutions into three levels with three distinct roles. The more important is at the community level, banks at this level will act as money managers. In this role, banks will provide liquidity to employees and employers using direct deposits from employees and sales receipts from employers. Even though a 10% annual interest rate, without administrative fees, may not sound lucrative when broken down monthly, it is.
The Democratic Party will no longer argue at what rate the top 10 or the top 1% is taxed. To this sector of our society, the United States every year will adjust the tax rate according to the national need. We come to a conclusion on this matter; this argument detracts from our focus on a better society.
The Democratic Party will view the educational and medical institutions as support institutions that will be well-defined and well-funded. On the academic topic, we are well developed as a society to define what is essential in order to put forth a program that will prepare any citizen for any of the well-defined industry or professional field they wish to follow. Specifically, medical professionals coming out of our educational system, by nature of the structured environment, will provide a set of services at a very well-defined set cost. In this industry, the Democratic Party will separate what is operational and well-established from medical research.
The Democratic Party will also promote environmental well-being by putting material development and material engineering with environmental vigilance. While promoting the development of materials for the use of our societal needs, we will also use these materials to understand how they impact our environment upon reentry. These findings and these research endeavors will start here in the United States but will be dispersed throughout the world for the benefit of humankind.
The Democratic Party will promote compact cities with definable permanent boundaries drawing from the New Urbanist view.
The Democratic Party understands that personal and business relationships are bound by contract; in other words, no contract, no enforceable relationship.
The Democratic Party will stop at the second amendment and come to an understanding that while in the past, the party has advocated for gun control, which is met with resistance. We will now advocate for gun education for everyone. This education shall be commenced at the high school level; the actual program will be left to the local communities. Both the 1st and 2nd amendments offer benefits to all citizens, but guardrails must be put in place with substantial penalties without limit if harm is done.

The Democrat Party wants to turn your son into your daughter, open the borders encouraging the importation of 3rd world problems, promote anti-white public policy in the name of racial "equity", print money to encourage inflation, and eliminate fossil fuels to handicap the US energy sector. In short, if it weakens America the Democrat Party is in favor of it.
