I am disabled & can't leave my house often, and I really live watching your videos when I'm in bed on bad days. You are realistic & relaxed, and very creative/artistic (artist here too)--love it! Thank you!!
You're a true artist, Alex. Your understanding & explanation of where to place light & dark colours is honestly unmatched. No one has ever made shading & highlighting make as much sense to me as you. And your placement of products is always so intentional and we can actually see the changes in your face happening as you explain then execute it. You're unbelievably talented.
Not my boyfriend recognizing your voice and asking if that's "Anele" 😂 also love that colour of your top, brings out your eyes and compliments your skin so beautifully ❤
Hi Alex! I love your contour content, but would you consider doing a reverse contour video for those of us with with very angular and sharp features already? At 44yo I don't need to create definition; I actually need to soften it and/or fake volume in my face. You seem like the person who can help! Thanks!
I absolutely love the way you describe and explain everything. It makes it so easy to understand and visualize. My face shape is similar but not exact so when you describe why you do something it helps me understand maybe I would do it a different way for different features on my face. ❤️
Can’t wait to sit down and watch this! Love a good contour tutorial! My makeup application skills have seriously grown so much from your channel, thank you for the wisdom! ❤
I was super snatched in the face when I was much younger but my face is getting rounder and less defined as I'm getting older and now I have no idea where any of my makeup placement is meant to go 😅 This is really helpful, thank you so much for all the information, Alex!
I shape my face a bit. I don’t go too cool but I will use darker colours in areas that I want to recede. I love listening to “The Artist Alex” explaining contouring. Thank you
Alex, I have to tell you that I bought the About Face foundation in F2Olive and it is a perfect match for me. Having fair olive skin makes it SO HARD to find a good match and I only found it because of the video you posted about finding the right foundation. THANK YOU!
Honestly I admire anyone’s patience and dedication to do all this! I have always loved makeup but I was young and a punk, so it was creative and fun. Now it just feels like hard work, and not really enjoyable anymore.
This look is fresh and youthful, Alex! Not that you need to create what you already have, but I do so, thank you! Plus, I love this natural light and background!!! Hope your kitties are doing great! 🐈🐾
Thanks for your awesome make-up education! I find you around 6 months ago, and by now I recognize how much I learn from you already and yes also take this in to practice.
Alex Please do a video on the Kiss Falscara Lashes ! 🙏 and the overnighter serum . Looking into getting them but not sure if it’s better than strip lashes
Girl I recently discovered your vids since I’m searching for makeup tutorials for my wedding… and you’ve seriously changed my life. Your techniques are amazing!! Bless your heart
You are the most real, honest, funny & no B S MUA online!😂 I'd love to see you do the make up on someone with a round face & double chin & preferably someone older!!😊😊
Dear Alex! Do you have any advice on how to conceal Nasolabial folds and marionette lines? They're starting to annoy me but I think it's to early to get botox or even a face lift. Maybe there's something I can do with makeup! Thanks for your support! Love your videos. 🙏 ✨ ♥
Ugh girl your jewelry is always so dope!! What brands do you shop at for your pieces? I know it takes some work, but I would purchase from your affiliate links in a heart beat for any pieces you have featured in your videos.
I am so glad you are sharing more contour techniques! I love the way you aren't afraid to experiment and say you have changed your routine! Question: Can you apply powder contour with a Sponge? Whenever I use a face-brush(blush, foundation, contour, ect), I end up making my Roseaca flare up...
So detailed, yet looking very natural... that's a skill! Thank you for sharing this video, I've learned so much from you! Lots of love from me in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️
This may be random but i watch your videos to help me fall asleep and I mean that in the best way possible, your voice is very soothing… and i love how detailed you are when it comes to every step in your makeup routine
I CAN NOT WAIT TIL YOUR BRUSH COMES OUT!! I have the prototype and I love it so much. I use it all the time. It’s so good. Would love to see it in a XL version too. I could totally see that being good too. I’ve been so excited to get the new one. So excited. Totally impatiently waiting. So excited 🎉🎉🎉
I love your content! And, no worries, you can never get enough contour strategies or techniques to try. I love how your all about makeup skills and no drama or sob stories over and over! I love your strategies and the way you explain all the makeup related things 😀keep it up, your so talented
Alex! I’ve always had a hard time finding a foundation to match, but I recently bought Buff and it’s spot on! It blends seamlessly into my neck, I’m so happy 😭❤️
I'm realizing we have a very similar facial structure (down to the deeper tear troughs) and as I am getting older, I feel like my face is getting wider and weirdly rounder too. It's wild - I thought I was supposed to lose volume in my face as I got older, but alas. Appreciate you and these videos!
Hi! Can you talk about setting and finishing powders? Like which formulas look for, which ones work well with flash photography and which ones don't, which ones to use on different areas of the face, which brands you recommend etc. Products are so expensive, I really don't know where to start. I just use pressed powder for everything but I don't think it looks anywhere near as good as yours. I don't know what you used, but it TRANSFORMED your makeup at the end. LOVE your videos, thank you for such good content! ❤❤❤❤
My face is so puffy and round and I hate it. I’m working thru some medical issues and my face has changed in a lot to me in 3(ish) years. I’ve had to rapidly find out new ways to enjoy makeup to enjoy myself. It’s been difficult, but I will try some of these techniques!
@ Alexandre Anele OMG! Thanks for the tips! It's so refreshing to find a fair skinned beauty with a similar face shape to follow. I don't know how many MUA and counters that I've been to to try and match my color and it's always off. I just can't see it. I just know what it's not. I think. Lol! Thanks again!
While I watch several makeup influencers here on UA-cam I just wanted to tell you that imo You are absolutely perfection personified!! I always feel like you're being honest about everything you tell us & I think you give most of the Best techniques I've seen anywhere! Thank you for what you do here!! 🫶💄💋
This was fantastic! I have a similar face shape to you. I also tried that other contouring technique for a while, and noticed the same thing that it was dragging my face down. I wish I had seen where you put that blush, because I definitely look best with pop of sheer, bright pink.
Loved this! I will definitely watch again while trying this. I have a round face with similar jawline as yours so think this would work. Love these in depth tutorials! ❤
Alex, your an amazing teacher in all applications of makeup. Thank you for being you. Do you have a tutorial of prepping and applying color corrector and or concealer for more mature women with very dry under eyes and dehydrated? Would be great to see your take on this big problem on us more mature women. Thank you sweetie.
Another UA-camr recommended DRMTLGY sunscreen color corrector for the eyes and it’s an amazing product. It protects, conceals and colour corrects. Thank you for this tutorial. To all the women with fuller faces - embrace it because we lose volume/fat as we age.
When I do my makeup recently… because I am 49 yrs old, with dry skin, I do my prep, clean, hydrated skin first of all. But I do my concealer, my cream contour and blush, because I have freckle’s across my nose and like seeing them. Then I lightly apply foundation to my face to balance out my complexion. I find it makes me use less product, and I don’t get weighed down with extra product to my skin than needed.
I love all the explanation using the logic of why you use each product and also explaining when you can go without using a product depending on your skin color etc! I really feel like that's the best thing about your videos because that's how I learn and decide what and how to use what I have. How wonderful to have finded your channel, THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge. 🤍
Good day, I have looked at thousands of videos of contouring videos you are the only one that seems to really know something and want to help. I need help my forehead has a unique shape and would love to find out how you would contour and highlight my face. Please help me.
I find this quite funny in a sense , because your face is in pretty good normal porportion . Its just that we are so used to seeing surgically enhanced or procedure enhanced that we think our cheeks aren't full enough , my face is wide etc All different shaped faces are normal , we need to compare our faces back in the 60's before filler , botox , buckle fat removal , implants , brow lifts , coloured contacts to create the perfect sky blue eye . I mean contour away because you want to be more snatched maybe , but not because you have imperfections .
Wonderful. I find myself not contouring at all AND wanting to put my blush lower.....yes you heard it...lower than the current trend lately which is blushing very high. Does blushing high really create a youthful look???? I don't know. I work with kids and their natural flush tends to be in the hollow of the cheeks and a bit on the apples. Hmmmmm. Oddly enough that lower blush application is sooooooo lovely. Wondering when that trend will return.
I've been trying to find a good tutorial on the profusion moonstone palette. A pretty smokey eye if anyone knows one please lmk... Alex u absolutely beautiful would love e to look like you❤
I love all your tutorials and how you go to depth and detail my, question is how do I find the correct contour color? It’s very confusing ? Suggestions please 🙏🏻
Dude my face shape has that slightly more forward nose (but not large) and chin more backwards, it's one of my biggest insecurities. Thanks for the inspiration! Contouring is art! I also have light visual weight face - i think - I would love to see the differences on those two!
So how long did it take you to be able to change looks flawlessly. You make makeup changes look so easy. And that is not an easy thing to do. Any recommendations to make it easier for myself
Can you do a video about under eye color corrector product reviews? I’m a light olive with dark circles that need disguising. Currently I use Bobbie Brown under eye corrector in Light Bisque because it hides the dark circles and brightens.
I feel like for your face shape its important to keep the blush placement away from the mid cheek and only in the area where you did your contour to add extra lift and definition.
Alex, I have a sunscreen recommendation for you! I have the same problem as you do where chemical sunscreens sting my eyes no matter what. about a week ago I bought the haruharu wonder black rice mineral sunscreen, and for me it replaces the cetaphil sheer mineral liquid sunscreen that I'd been using. the cetaphil sunscreen wasn't perfect but it was the best I could find, and I prefer the haruharu one, since it's spf 50+ instead of spf 50, doesn't make my face so shiny, and isn't oily and runny like the cetaphil. I got mine from amazon (it's also sold on yesstyle) for about $12, which is great as I'd been paying about $15 for the cetaphil sunscreen in stores. love u and ur videos!!!
21:40 thanks for the laugh line crease. Been doing the concealer on that area as I have prominent laugh lines but on the while line and then they crease. 😔
THIS is a contour tutorial that people should follow and not in order to actually contour the same way as you do BUT to hear you analyzing your face shape and thus adjusting your contouring as to what one wants to achieve.
Question!! how do you not ruin your lip combo when you do glam for a dinner/meal?? i feel like i do all this work to contour w the lip liner, then top it with a gloss or stain or oil and even if i dont have a meal it starts to get all messed up 😖😖
I am disabled & can't leave my house often, and I really live watching your videos when I'm in bed on bad days. You are realistic & relaxed, and very creative/artistic (artist here too)--love it! Thank you!!

😂 Hi boyfriend! 👋🏼 Thank you love! 🙏🏼
Anyone else want Alex to do a personalized reco for their exact face? 😂
Yes! I need a contour look for a giant round face with a massive jaw 😂
Hi Alex! I love your contour content, but would you consider doing a reverse contour video for those of us with with very angular and sharp features already? Thats interesting I thought we lose baby fat in our face as we get older. I got a bunch of facial fat😅 i want to lose it
@@friedchicken892same! I was like wait i thought this was supposed to go the opposite way lmao
The warmer toned jewellery is lovely on you! Flatters your colouring so well and your green eyes really stand out.
Thank you for the tips!
I shape my face a bit. I don’t go too cool but I will use darker colours in areas that I want to recede. I love listening to “The Artist Alex” explaining contouring. Thank you

I like your new contour routine. You are a great teacher !!!!
I have the EXACT same face shape as you so these contouring videos really help!
same!!!😭💚
This look is fresh and youthful, Alex! Not that you need to create what you already have, but I do so, thank you! Plus, I love this natural light and background!!!
Hope your kitties are doing great! 🐈🐾
Thank you! The kitties are doing well! 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️

Super helpful contour video, thank you! My cheeks are very similar to yours, so this helps me understand how to contour for my face! ❤
Love it! We need an updated brow routine too!! 😀
Girl you KNOW I love a new contour vid! 🩵
I’ve been watching you since… 2020 ish? And it’s been so fun watching how you perfect your contour ❤

Such a FRESH look. And fantastic tutorial. Thank you
I prefer to refrain from contouring because 1 I'm bad at it and 2 I have a small face. Thank you for sharing
I'm realizing we have a very similar facial structure (down to the deeper tear troughs) and as I am getting older, I feel like my face is getting wider and weirdly rounder too. It's wild - I thought I was supposed to lose volume in my face as I got older, but alas. Appreciate you and these videos!

I got that olive undertone foundation you recommended. OMG. A perfect shade match. Maybe now other companies will make the same shade!!
Yay so glad it works for you! 🙌🏼❤️
Alex! Same skin tone here 🙋🏼♀️ I can never figure out a good nude lip combo: can you share some you like?
Question!! how do you not ruin your lip combo when you do glam for a dinner/meal?? i feel like i do all this work to contour w the lip liner, then top it with a gloss or stain or oil and even if i dont have a meal it starts to get all messed up 😖😖
Exactly! All work goes to waiste!
Would love a full face Jones Road review!
been watching all your videos lately and learning alot! What brush do you use to blend out your concealer at 3:26? is it an eyeshadow brush?
ITS A GREAT DAY
