Awesome! I'll be playing with it a bit over the weekend (assuming the firmware is available to me by then), but I normally don't do too much video work off of a tripod.
Sweet! I am super excited to hear that as this has been something a ton of people have been asking for since the R5 released. Thank you for the information!
Agreed. In my initial testing with 1.6.0, I was able to record 4K30 HQ for 30 minutes (the built-in time limit) before it stopped, but it looks like I could have started up another recording immediately afterwards. I ran out of battery at that point, so I am charging now, and will be doing some tests with a plug-in battery later in 8K30 to see what I can get for recording time before overheat/ running out of space (and if space is the issue, going to 4K).
@@CitadelStreaming thank you for information. Since the new firmware comes I always really hope to see Canon make a big step by get rid of unnecessary limitation. And again disappointed. Why they are so stubborn instead of caring the customers feedback. Making a good camera yet put the limitation on it 🤷♂️
My best guess on why they have held so hard to the record limit is that they have someone with a relatively large amount of pull in the company that wants the record limit in hopes of causing customers to either purchase a more expensive camera, or multiple cameras. That is a complete guess though.
It looks like Canon's US website has been updated with both firmware images at this point, and I have been able to download and install them on my cameras without issue.
Have tested IBIS with firmware update 1.6 - there's a significant improvement when using a wide angle lens.

So no more wide angle wobble ? 😃
@@doktorr23 Seems a lot better with my RF 16mm
@@csound55 do you mind doing a small video demonstrating it and post it on your channel please ? Thanks again!

@@CitadelStreaming Maintenant plus de 2h30min en 4k HQ et pas de surchauffe.... wow !
Atomos ninja v working fine , removed battery of cannon r5 and installed again and all working fine now 👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome! Glad to hear that you got it sorted.
Yeah recording limit is suck ! So stubborn to giving this feature.

No in official web this file. Should be any problem with this file.
