Russia focuses on destroying the enemy not on territory. When the enemy is destroyed, the Russians will just take territory the way you pick ripe fruit from low branch. It'll fall in a week. The place is already a bombed over hell hole. It's also geographically easy to out flank and surround. In turn that will force Syrskyi to send reinforcements to protect the supply line instead of supporting Chasiv Yar proper.

Hello! Dima, I'll tell you how things are. The Russian army, and even the special forces, is equipped with equipment far below what the Western armed forces use in Ukraine. So the Russian soldiers enter and occupy the city but are destroyed by the multitude of high precision weapons. It is a story repeated in Ukraine. Russia is bringing tens of thousands of soldiers to the battlefield, but they are poorly equipped, or rather inadequately equipped for the fighting conditions in Ukraine.
