I'll never forget the days of going to the drags one day then the speedway put the back for world series or for a normal meeting when it was packed. So sad too see such an amazing place of happiness gone 😔
So sad indeed, remember crowds were huge to watch cars like Mr Ed, Shotgun, Granny run in the eighties, certainly miss those days!
And forgot to add, Cambuster, Peter Michael’s Holden, Mechanical Monster, Turkeys Toy ( who I crewed for) Leprechaun, and the list goes on...wonder where those cars are now!
@@wayne9979 I can remember seeing the cam buster at Simsmetal in the early 80s on top of a pile of cars
How sad is that ! Was a fantastic track
Wow! Thanks. Many good memories there as flaggie, spectator and competitor. Pity the Esses are dug up, and turn one on the short circuit looks nasty. 😋
The bend is too far away for street meets.
its one hour from adelaide......
@@nlikos180 exactly. hour and a half
I'm glad she still there, cause i thought she would be destroy for houses
What happeded to the wall from the short circuit to the end of the straight?? Dangerous for even drag racing without it.
they haven't fix it yet.
Shame it's just sitting there , bring back the drags
Should set-up speedway here instead of temporary one Adelaide...
Visited (illegally) today, the place is overgrown asf. Quite sad to see.
haha, me too!
Such a shame it’s gone to ruin.
Melbourne stole Formula One from Adelaide, Adelaide v8 supercars are gone as well, and now our raceway is closed! what racing events does Adelaide hold now!? basically nothing as far as I'm aware!
Murray Bridge speedway still holds world series sprintcars and just had the wingless aus title, 60 lapper for wingless there this weekend
