I love how she sings, "I have to find the will to carry on." And she shows that she has that will, but when he's going to leave, she realizes that he is her will to carry on and they change the ending, but Harold's like, "I have no idea what's going on here, but it works."
this song always makes me emotional, imaging what Freddie Mercury must have gone through, so much pain. the lyrics I can relate to so much. Seeing it in this film made me feel that so much more. I don't think a song has ever had such a profound effect on me. Someone did a Moulin Rouge video to the Queen version of the song, I just couldn't hold back the tears.
They didn't "steal" anything. You really think they would get away with stealing famous, well known songs? Songs in general. Of course they received permission before using/changing up the songs. Check your facts before you go making incorrect assumptions. Please and thank you.
I cried at the end of this movie. My dog MY DOG was looking at the screen and started to wimpper and looked like she was gonna cry. MY DOG EVEN CRIED AT THE END.
So, a rock song from Queen was adapted as an opera song for a musical movie, then an instrumental rock song for an Internet comedian? Strange world we live in...
that kind of rock you listen is for dirty people who thinks water is an enemy... i like rock but alternative .. or something similar! opera and clasic music is THE MUSIC...the first kind of music...rock is their kid
I saw this movie yesterday, and it was amazing. It's too bad it critics didn't like it, Moulin Rouge was ahead of it's time and that's why they didn't like it because they didn't get it. Also, steampunk would still be undiscovered if not for this :)
This movie was nominated for 6 academy awards and won 2, has a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, the critics loved this movie. Also steampunk has been popular since the 80s.
I love this version of the song. It has so mutch feeling that I get tears in my eyes every time I hear it. ...or mabe it is because it comes up in a sad part in the movie when the main character just leaned that she is dying.
To clear all this ridiculousness up, there's no way this movie would have been produced without these artists' consent, and all the royalties paid for. It is a Juke Box Musical, like Mamma Mia. Everyoe calm down. It's just like Glee.
People complaining about stolen music need to look up Brechtian Theatre. The whole movie is Brechtian - it's MEANT to have music incorrect for its time, so you remember that it's just a movie.
Jakomi of the Rose I think Nostalgia Critic was a little harsh with the film. Yes I do agree that it isn't the smartest or cleverest writing ever, but the cinematography and atmosphere is purely gorgeous, the songs are creatively put together, and it's a fun well put together movie. I love the nostalgia critics reviews but there was a bunch of points he made where I wanted to jump in and defend the movie.
I am such a nimrod. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out where I heard the opening for the Nostalgia Critic's show before. Then I watched the Moulin Rouge review but I was still too musically dense to figure it out until I did some research and figure out it was one of my favorite Queen songs. Yeesh this is what happen when one loves music but doesn't know anything about it, fooled by tempo and key changes :-(
Inside my heart is breaking , my makeup may be flaking , but my smile still stays on ..... is my favorite part of the song ..!

I can't get this movie out. I cried so hard when I saw it, and it feels like I have to see it again... Like.. As if you have to face your fears or to get over a horror movie to get it out
This is the opening to my marching band show, and now every time I come in with that eighth-note line I just hear Zidler and Kidman singing in the background. I hope the judicators don't take points off if the band is crying. =P
@RainbowSunset2011 Sorry, but this song is off of the album Innuendo (The last album released while Freddie was still alive), the last album Queen did before Made In Heaven, (The album Freddie died during the making of) which is probably the album you are referencing. But yes, this song was written by, and credit is given to, Queen as a band. And if you still don't believe me, you can look it up, or just listen for Roger Taylor's voice in the background and the tone of Brian May's guitar :D
I love she is so fragile while singing the first part, puting the veil on but then at the end her heads up high and she looked so regal.
Agreed !
I love how she sings, "I have to find the will to carry on." And she shows that she has that will, but when he's going to leave, she realizes that he is her will to carry on and they change the ending, but Harold's like, "I have no idea what's going on here, but it works."
Man that scene was heartbreaking
Me too
Written by brilliant Brian May, performed by legend Freddie Mercury, covered by one of the best movies ever. Queen lives on, good music lives on.
Freddie would have LOVED Moulin Rouge, and surely would have approved of this cover.
@@zbr76 YES!!!!!!
@@zbr76 think he would love it.
The end of this song is probably my favorite part. The tempo change just tells so much. And in the scene when her face just shifts, I get chills.
"I'll top the bill, I'll earn the kill, I have to find the will to carry on with the show" My favourite part!
Sobbing and listening to this on repeat. "Another heartache, another failed romance"
I sing this to myself every time I feel like crap. It inspires me to keep moving forward even though it's probably not worth it.
+
Jess Brajer It's always worth it, especially when we can't see why.
@@adammclaughlin845 w o w .
It could be... I hope it is worth it. Good luck🤞
@@RajaRojas it is always worth it.
1:57 This is one of the most epic moments I've ever heard o.O Can't get enough of it! The choir gives me chills

One of the best movies ever made
This song is so grandiose and wonderful, I just can't help making outrageous hand gestures, especially at the "THE SHOW MUST GO ONNN" parts.
They didn't "steal" anything. You really think they would get away with stealing famous, well known songs? Songs in general. Of course they received permission before using/changing up the songs. Check your facts before you go making incorrect assumptions. Please and thank you.
This part is so sad but good. The difference in Satine’s voice throughout the song, all the performers in this awesome haunting scene…
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to LOVE, and be LOVED in return."-
Moulin Rouge!!!
I cried at the end of this movie. My dog MY DOG was looking at the screen and started to wimpper and looked like she was gonna cry. MY DOG EVEN CRIED AT THE END.
😂😂
The beginning always reminded me of Hunchback Of Notre Dame
+Erika Soltero The book or one of the film adaptations?
The Disney movie.
Oh.
Erika Soltero the beginning always reminded me of Once Upon A December from Anastasia
Haley Lamm yes me too when I first saw it!
"We are creatures of the underworld. We can't afford to love."

Nudam Inapoi What do you mean? I don't understand...
***** Right, my mistake…
Awesome world we live in!!
Queen themselves did some opera themselves in bohemian rhapsody
+Nudam Inapoi Huh?
Best queen cover.
I love the use of this song because it was the last song on the last album queen did before Freddie died....such a strong parallel
Honestly this song gives me the chills, it’s absolutely amazing
Freddie would be proud.
I love this movie so much there’s always makes me cry in the end
you know its good (for you) when youre still comin back all these years later
youre so right!
Agreed!
2022, yes
Brilliant cover. I love Moulin Rouge and this song fits the movie soooo perfectly
Massive queen fan here. And usually I despise covers but this cover is pretty good. For a great movie
this is one movie soundtrack where the versions actually do justice to the real songs. def one of my faves.
Seen the movie over 50 times. Know all the lines. Just love it.
Love this Sad movie 💖 Freddie would have loved this.

+Existential Dread ok, thanks for that last bit. ;)
I think it's visually very effective! Great music too, of course!
So beautiful, just as amazing as Queen's version. Both iconic
I love Queen, and normally I don't dig covers of any band, BUT THIS IS SOOO GOOD.
I actually lit up when I heard them singing this in the movie. Such a powerful version that made the movie so much better
I don't care what anyone says Roxanne was bad Ass in this movie. Lol. To bad I can't find it on UA-cam where I live.
The title of the song is El Tango de Roxanne.
I love this version of the song. It has so mutch feeling that I get tears in my eyes every time I hear it. ...or mabe it is because it comes up in a sad part in the movie when the main character just leaned that she is dying.
Such an amazing cover! Well done Jim Broadbent!
To clear all this ridiculousness up, there's no way this movie would have been produced without these artists' consent, and all the royalties paid for. It is a Juke Box Musical, like Mamma Mia. Everyoe calm down. It's just like Glee.
It's better than* Glee.
Apelles .!.
The difference is that this is a highly stylized in a way that brings justice to the original piece's intent.
Actually Glee has been known to not give credit where credit is due. Just look up the controversy behind Baby got back on Glee.
+Brady Houlahan Not everybody likes jukebox musicals.
one of my favorite songs with one of my favorite movies...
God, this chills me every time I hear it. i just love it soo much
this song teaches me that everytime something goes wrong i wil and shall go on no matter how hard it hurts.
We are creatures of the underworld we can't afford to love...
I cried my eyes out watching the movie it is one Of my favorites
Always gives me goosebumps.
This movie... this song.... I LOVE IT SO!
what a magnificent cover...they give queen justice....
Blimey Jim Broadbent has a very good voice!
This was when musicals were at their peak cause I have yet see a musical in todays time that tops this or Chicago
I’ve never seen this film, but after hearing the soundtrack, I HAVE to.
Queen? Madonna? Marilyn? All of the above?
I love it.
And Bowie!
Espectacular película !!

Der Song ist so unglaublich! Ich liebe ihn.
Deeeeespite of the stupid review by Critic, this movie still remains my favorite musical.
Do u mean to say it's a guilty pleasure (in that case u must kill brentalfloss)
What are you talking about? Critics praised this movie
Za Gabi I meant the Nostalgia Critic.
Jakomi of the Rose Yeah, I actually really love that review, even though I don't think this movie is bad at all.
Jakomi of the Rose I think Nostalgia Critic was a little harsh with the film. "The Review Must Go On", Nostalgia Critic (I Remember it so you dont have to!)
yeah that became nc's theme song after he shot floss in the moulin rouge review
I love Queen but I absolutely love some of Moulin Rouge's music better. Including this one.
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just too love... and be loved in return.
amazing version..
Simply incredible
The beginning makes me wanna cry
I. Love. His. Voice.
while i absolutely love the original, this version just sends shivers down my spine.
Bodies aching all the time

Best song.

Freddie Mercury was the lead singer of Queen...
So yes, it was Queen.
This'll make a great musical! :D
This is the opening to my marching band show, and now every time I come in with that eighth-note line I just hear Zidler and Kidman singing in the background. I hope the judicators don't take points off if the band is crying. =P
