~Testimony of a Miraculous Rescue in America
*Personal testimony of Loukas Georgiou (Retired Colonel, Salamis)
When I was serving in Cyprus, in 1989, the sergeant mentioned to me that, when he was studying at the Theological School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, he had a journalist friend from Thessaloniki who knew St. Paisios the Athonite (1924-1994) very well.
So, this journalist told him that at one time (he didn't remember exactly when) he had to go to the USA, to meet a Greek-American for a business appointment.
So he went, met the Greek-American, finished the work he had, and then they visited some cities in the USA.
At one point, while the journalist was driving, they entered a narrow alley. Some people appeared on the side of the road with knives and wild dispositions. The Greek-American therefore said to him:
"Back up and let's go, because here they slaughter you for a dollar!"
He tried to reverse but they were blocked in the middle and they were in a bad situation.
    The Greek-American suddenly told him:
    "Do something to save us!"
"What should I do?" the journalist said to him.
The Greek-American said to him in his despair:
"Think of something, since you go to Mount Athos, because they will slaughter us!"
The journalist, in that difficult moment he found himself in, invoked the help of the Saint and, suddenly, they found themselves in another district, without being able to understand what happened.
When he returned to Greece, he went straight to Mount Athos, to the Hut of Geronda Paisios (who was still alive then).
As soon as the Holy Elder Paisios saw him, he patted him on the shoulder with a smile and said: "Don't tire me, my child, so that I am forced to come all the way to America!"
    ~The Pornographer
St. Paisios changed many lives. Once he met a man who told him that he used to make a great deal of money showing pornographic films.
He (the man) was very suspicious of Christianity and when he first heard of St. Paisios, he supposed that he was a charlatan and decided to go to Mount Athos with two of his friends to "expose that monk."
When they arrived, the Saint received them in his yard, saying, "Sit down and let me serve you something." The Saint served the other two gentlemen first, and then stood in front of the first man and turned the plate upside down, letting the sweet fall in the mud.
"I dropped it," he said, "but that doesn't matter. Pick it up and eat it anyway."
The man was insulted: "How do you expect me to eat it when its filthy?"
Then the Saint sternly replied, "And why do you give people filth to eat?"
Stunned, embarrassed, and in some fear, the man got up and left, but he went back again the next day and spoke with St. Paisios. He told him that he felt as though the ground was shifting under his feet. The conversation was brief.
"What am I supposed to do?" he asked.
The Saint responded, "First of all, shut down your business, then come back and talk to me again."
He returned to Thessaloniki, closed the business, and began to look for new work.
After about a month he went to speak with St. Paisios, who told him to go to confession and taught him (how) to put his life in order spiritually.
At just one call to repentance he had changed his life and followed Christ, just like Matthew the tax-collector in the Gospel. (Matthew 9:9)
~St. Paisios the Athonite and the Deer
In the guesthouse of the Monastery of Savvathiana on the island of Crete, a retired teacher recalled the following story about Saint Paisios.
Once the abbot of Koutloumousiou Monastery, Christodoulos, had a problem he was dealing with, so he decided to visit Elder Paisios early in the morning to consult him. When he arrived at his cell, he found him alone. As they spoke, a deer appeared outside his cell. When the Elder saw it, he spoke to it, saying: "I told you not to wander around in the morning because someone may kill you." The deer then lifted one of its legs, and the Elder realized it was broken.
The Elder entered his cell and returned with a piece of wood to which he bound the broken leg of the deer as if it was a cast. He then said to the deer: "You will return in 25 days so we can remove the cast."
The abbot jotted down the date and after 25 days he returned to the cell of the Elder to see if the deer would come. It was not long when the deer appeared again at the door of the Elder. The deer's leg was healed. St. Paisios removed the "cast" and said to the deer: "Be careful to not wander around in the morning because you are in danger."

One of the things that I like about this channel is how the text is spaced out. In between lines, I can soak it in a bit at a time and practice the Jesus Prayer. It’s also a good way to trick yourself into reading more when you’re UA-cam binging. I definitely need more reading time.

    Glory to God.
Imagine what gifts the saints had . This video evokes "a good sense of envy" so that we ,too, can try to cleanse our soul and attain the gifts which our forefather Adam possessed.

God through the saints, in other words saints do it through god and he and only he decides who and when miracles happen

Its God always doing the miracle. However, through the saints intercession and communion with God the synergy between them the miracle is done. Glory be to God who is wondrous in His saints! ☦️

@Yaz; Those who believe and live a godly, humble, saintly Christian life and follow His Commandments will do these signs as did St. Paisios. Also please read Mark 16:17-19. ☦️
