Well, my Flymo just stopped working. Saw your video and thought why not give it a try. Thank you, it actually worked for me as well. Flymo obviously have a design fault on their hand.. Well done, great tip. If your Flymo stops, give this a go. 😃😃😃
Great video, ours just stopped working halfway though doing the garden at weekend, followed your video and just chopped the wire after the bend where it comes out of the handle and worked first try after putting it all back together. Thanks for posting this howto video.
Your video helped me to fault find and repair my Flymo lawn mower. Exactly the same fault, a broken wire where it had been repeatedly pushed into the handle. Thank you for posting!
This just happened to our mower and it started working again after I tried your fix 😊, thanks for taking the time to post your video, you're a life saver, uhhh mower saver😂. Subscribed!
Spot on! I did actually know about this (and have actually fixed the mower when it had this problem before) but your video jogged my memory - very many thanks!
Thanks for the help mine did the same yesterday but your explanation gave the the push to dig out my multimeter and diagnose and repair the same issue 👍🏼
Thank you. Without having test equipment had assumed it was the micro switch and replaced this without any effect. I was just about to give up when I saw your vid. Didn’t really believe that crimping quite heavy duty cable would damage it but lacking the ability to test it I just cut out the last 6 inches and reconnected and it solved the problem. This seems to be a real design flaw. What do they do to that cable?! Thank you so much
Thanks Max, I think it's the constant swaying of the Cable where it goes into the handle causes the individual strands of wires to break inside of the cord over time. Happy you managed to successfully resolve 😁.
My one stopped working, I checked the brushes and found some grass cuttings were behind the brushes stopping the connection to the motor. I cleaned them out and gave a squirt of WD40, working perfectly again now. 👍 Pretty poor design tho, Flymo should fit a cover that keeps the cuttings away from the motor mechanism and armature. Hate to imagine how many perfectly good machines have been scrapped and replaced for the sake of a quick easy fix.
Thanks Pinky, yes many of these units and other device are discarded where the most probably could have been easily repaired unfortunately, and yes cutting can be sucked into some odd places inside 😀.

Thanks Demented,
yes this section obviously fails due to the constant flexing of the cord, happy to help and glad you managed to resolve 😀.

Thanks Dev,
not my Mower but as you can see via the comments this is quite clearly not an isolated issue 😎.
Nice one, you fixed my mower! Cheers
Thanks Mikey,
yes you did. Happy to help 😎.
Great stuff. Were up and running again. What a stupid idea to put a kink in the wire.
Hi gay for pay,
I think the Kink is for the Cord Grip so it doesn't pull out, most of them have one. Glad you managed to resolve anyway.
Regards 😀.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻 just carried out this repair on my mower

Will this work for flymo glidemaster 380??
Not sure Mayur,
may just have to try.
Great vid mate. Saved my nan buying a new one 👍🏻
Thanks Liam,
just happy to help 😀.
Thank you buddy
Thanks Rash 😎.
I had no idea this could be an issue, thought the capacitor had gone in mine tbh......
Thanks Sam,
yes the Cord constantly swinging around can cause the internal strands to break thus causing a power failure unfortunately.
Regards.
