yea... i resonate with that so much. when i was in high school, i was made to believe that playing video games is childish so i said that i was going to quit once i turn 18.... gladly i never quit but the thought did occur to me. moral of the story is that u do what you love to do.... hell, u can even watch teletubies if you choose to. having a hobby that you love helps with the stress you are currently dealing with or the stress that is soon to come.

If an adult has put their heart and soul into a project, why can a kid that can barely count to 20 play them but someone who can appreciate good games and enjoy them not? I have a question. How do you know when the next holy grail comes. Specifically for dbs cards.
It’s more or less watching the meta game, or looking at prices of said cards. However this could vary depending on what your definition of the “holy grail” is, if it means expensive then look at a cards over all value, more or less how easy is it to fit in a deck. Depending on the rarity would differ the prices. But for good/staples you need to watch meta game.
Holy grails just come down to the impact of a card. In Son Goku Awakened Power's case, it was basically exodia when it first came out, so it was highly desired by players. As the collector community formed around the cards, people realized how hard it was to get one of these and wanted it. 1 in 12 box pull rate with a single print set was basically bound for crazy prices in the future. Thats why I always say any secret rare you pull can probably be worth crazy values down the line, but it also depends on if the character is iconic or not. I have 3 copies of Xeno Cell PSA 10, but that card looks AWFUL and I feel like nobody except a limited amount of people will really want it

@@rhymestyle yeah but cell x is a very usable SCR because he is a free play quadruple strike hand controlles and has deflected, unlike most scr’s cell can be used in ever deck. Also most scrs there “key pieces” could be counter, unison killed many deck because now have and use counter plays. In short cell x is a staple and deflect really maters

It blows my mind the value of trading cards in this world. Like a pokemon card can pay for either all or a large portion if my college tuition and that just blows my freaking mind.

The cards price at moment is about $2,740-$3,500(usd), after the ban of Rossi and the limit on UI goku the card was almost unusable, unless using swap or the blue Ui goku. The card had that high of a price because of shenron swap/U7, but because counter plays are now a thing that deck is dead.
well the value of the card was high because of playability at first, but collectors want it because of how limited it was. Single print set with a 1 in 12 box pull rate was insane. Plus the art is just BEEEEAUTIFUL.

@@rhymestyle You said yourself there were 4 Typhlosions and like 10 Lugias. With a million that's enough money to make a handsome offer on whatever one you sold and still make profit back. And even if they're not listed, if you put out feelers saying you have that kind of cash on hand for a card like that you'll see more collectors come out of the woodwork.
@@pkwilly2765 Nah I know the other 2 who own Typhlosion and they would never sell, even if I offered them 2million. Thats the thing with low pop cards, nobody sells them. Usually at that point, they're owned by millionaires who dont need anymore money.
It wouldn’t work like that, first off the card has seen a massive price drop, second off his is probably worth $3000 USD, and lastly as he said the price of the card isn’t always it’s real price it’s how much the card means to a player.

I got him on my first and only box and have no idea how to go about getting the card graded. I'm also EXTREMELY afraid to do so.
That card will drop or rise in price, and I’m gonna have to be the one to say it’s gonna drop. It’s already been seeing a drop in its price when release it was bout $5,000 USD and now 2,750 Usd thanks to new ban list. The card also stoped seeing play when unison was added because of counter plays, your Ui gokus would just be counter played. Not to mention that card will get reprinted, now that they are focusing more on reprints. Just like gogeta ss3 scr, it’s reprint is less than $5 USD

What if BGS graded it a black label and had it sell for that much as a marketing ploy to try to rise their brand over PSA? They named 9.5 "GEM MINT" as a strategy I think, but ive heard of shady gradings from BGS so it raises some questions from me.

I know how you feel. I have some Dragon Ball Z collectible cards I got back in the 90s. And I still kept my collection to this date. I have some rare special edition cards with that set in card sleeves.

Have a look a at the SSB Vegito SCR from Union Force. The 1ST SCR for the game. Pop for both PSA and BGS are way lower than Awakened Power. So much harder to grade

this video was crazy to me cause in school we'd play our version of pokemon cards and some would be counterfeit cards and some would be the actual cards and the winner would usually get the other person's card and i was wondering about how many of those cards could probably be worth a few thousand bucks in the market and we had no clue. we just played a version of a card game where we would see which person got the same starting letter of the other guy's card and win 20+ of his cards

Rhyme could not sell that for even close to a million, the copy that sold for so much was a perfect copy, also after the recent ban lost and unison he became less viable and rhymes copy is worth about $2750 USD- $5000 USD, and only collectors would buy it because of how bad it is in meta, the only good part about the card is how rare it is but could easily lose that title because if reprints.
@@kingka-ching not quite that low. PSA 10s are still selling for close to $10,000. Theres a few public recent sales ranging from $8,000-$10,000 through auctions.
@@rhymestyle the place mostly use to check card prices is tcgplayer, I don’t usually check those but a $2750 usd is about the price of a lightly used (as said on tcgplayer) and the near mint are $3000. I’m sure they have a bit more value than that. But one day that card will be reprinted or 100% useless because you can only run one ultimate card. Yeah I did put it low, and I could be wrong. That card is at the point of where one choice could lead to a huge price jump or a price lowering, it is my fault a bit for not checking the condition of the cards.
@@kingka-ching if the card gets reprinted it will have "re" on the copy which wont do anything to value of the "first edition" awakened power so thats irrelevant. also the whole reason of this card being valuable is not because of the playability anymore its more the fact that its gokus ultimate form from the series, its a secret rare and it came from a 1/12 chance case short print run series. also tcgplayer is terrible for pricing people put whatever they want ebay last sold is alot better.

I guess there is people out there with a lot of money and it does not make a difference to them spending 100 of thousands pounds on stuff. It's their right and if it makes them happy then it's their choice at the end of the day y'know. I have been collecting trading cards throughout my childhood, I stopped about 2-3 years ago. But I still cherish those cards to this day,.which stops me throwing them out. You should always do the things u enjoy and be happy, even if it can be a bit ridiculous at times.
