      25:33 The red warmer areas of the CMB were warmer and therefore LESS dense and LESS massive. The cooler areas were denser because cooler gasses and plasmas are denser. The cool, denser areas then collapsed gravitationally while the warmer areas expanded and became the voids. Stars form in the same way, from cold, collapsing gas clouds; not hot expanding ones.

      I did indeed I was looking to branch out from gaming and was mulling creepy mystery videos, space videos and history videos. History videos too dull, kinda boring, creepy mysteries were a sure fire way to get demonetised, but space content ticks both these boxes and there’s some great tools available to make graphics.
      That being said I have always been interested in space since I was a little kid. I was obsessed with big stars like Canis Majoris at like 12 and astronomy was the only module I really enjoyed in science class.
      So I had a basic understanding, all I had to do was research topics. And I like researching and writing so it’s worked out quite nicely 😅

    As a physicist, it was my usual pleasure to review your latest production here. With very good factual content and lovely production values, I have no hesitation in recommending this video to my own students and to any curious layperson. It is definitely up there in technical quality with, say, Arvins Ashe's or the PBS SpaceTime series. The perfectionist troll in me will pick out the occasional technical mis-statement or misleading remark - very likely slipping in no doubt at scripting time - but taking away almost nothing from the value of the presentation.
    Please DO keep up the good work - I enjoy most seeing the other comments here of curious folks enjoying science more because these videos!! best regards D. Barillari

    For those who really liked the big rip part, Kurzgesagt as wel as some other space focused channels have great videos about the ending of the universe. Can't go wrong with loading up some more existential crisis things and realisations of how meaningless and powerless we are as mere humans in the confines of the great infinite dark.

    Gravity is actually a VERY WEAK force that most other forces easily can overcome. Humans on the other hands are still just mentally challenged cavemen who can barely put together a space-rocket capable of escaping earth’s incredibly weak gravity. And our lack of such basic skills in physics knowledge is our baseline, so I totally understand why most humans does not understand the mechanics of the universe.
    That being said. I enjoyed this video very much. Amazingly high quality content. ❤👍

    I actually did not know a type-1A supernova was used in this manner for red shift measurements and expansion until this video. For some reason, in my mind, the standard candle was a Cepheid Variable (pulsing) star. I must’ve mixed that up with another form of measurement-for example, these two standards are used for two different issues, namely 1) location within a galaxy (cepheid) vs. 2) movement and expansion of space and objects within it (type-1A). However , I haven’t looked this up and am probably getting something wrong here.
    Regardless, thanks for continuing to teach me new things regarding cosmology and astronomy. I’m a huge fan and look forward to learning more from your research and videos. Much love from America 🇺🇸!

      @SEA  Рік тому +2

      You are right in that standard candles constitute a wide range of luminous phenomena depending on what astronomers are trying to study, and indeed Cepheids have been used for things like the Andromeda Galaxy, and also Red Giants at the tip of the RGB for things like the Triangulum Galaxy. But when it comes to the very farthest distances, it's the type 1a supernova because we can't use RGB stars or Cepheids to accurately see billions of light years back, their light is too faint not to be hampered by the distance and dust in the way.
      Thank you for your support, hope you can continue to learn from and enjoy the channel :)
