@ Sean C exactly 💯. We certainly love Jack and he will never be forgotten in Ireland 🇮🇪. Thanks to Jack he gave us belief and for that I will be forever grateful 🙏
This is why Ireland was such a natural fit for Big Jack and why he's the polar opposite of Bobby - the desire for the simpler things in life whether it's fishing, growing vegetables or going to the pub for a pint and a nice carvery lunch. In other words, a life away from football.....
I lived in Newcastle for 6 years and was living there at that time (hence being able to record the local TV news that night). There are very many similarities between the Irish and the people from the North East of England. Very friendly and down to earth.
@@herculesv1.247 I had a season ticket while i was there. Ossie Ardiles, Jim Smith and Will McFaul were the managers during my time there. I've been back a few times since and have taken in a couple of games - still a great atmosphere. Newcastle is my favourite city on this planet and the friendliness of the people has much to do with it (but the surrounding area and beauty of the city are also responsible).
We love you Jack. You'll never be forgotten on these shores 🇮🇪

Is it an exaggeration to say he put modern Ireland on the map (not just in football, but in the world generally)?
He's just like any auld lad you'd meet in the Irish countryside
