Currently in the process of buying a c class, used your link to check it out of curiosity and it turns it its had a dial back a couple years ago. I don't know if I fancy that car anymore but I'm glad I checked.
thanks for the discount some good info on there used when purchasing a vauxhall vivaro only gripe it does not do finance check so had to do a hpi check as well. would recommend finance check on newer vehicles.
Thank you for the link Rob and Chris, used this morning to check history on a car I've bought, all came up good. Thanks for all the videos, and enjoy your weekend.
Tried Car Vertical for an Audi A1 I'm considering buying from an Audi main dealer for my daughter. Car Vertical says its an A3. Audi UK and HPI say is definitely an A1. Have asked for my money back. If they cant get the make of car right, how can I trust any other information they show?
Brilliant filming by Chris catching Robs face when it started, he’s like a kid on Christmas Day. That won’t be up for sale longer than ten minutes. Have a good weekend lads thanks for a great week of videos 👍👍
I started following this channel around March last year. It just gets better and better, the content, the editing, the banter, and yes, the projects. You guys are putting out about 90 minutes of quality content a week, as well as fixing all the vehicles. That's some pace. Hats off to you both, and long may it continue.
You two are total legends. Keep the vids coming. I've not worked since November due to covid related issues and you guys have totally inspired me to get back into the automotive industry and I start a new job next month. Thanks so much Rob and Chris!
Had a pants day, nice to chill out in garden and watch this. Thanks both, learnt a lot from your videos but also de-stresses me after sorting out elderly parent over the past few years👍
My Mrs has had the electric version of this van a couple of years now for her gardening business. A lovely little van and drives well. It's so good we'll probably never change it until she retires if it lasts the distance
Well done guys persevere and you’ll get there, I’ve tried to instil into my kids that there’s no sense sitting with your head in your hands complaining, find out what the problem is and sort it out
For those commenting that this is just a rebadged renault you are wrong. The NV200 is a stand-alone vehicle made by nissan with a renault engine. The nissan that is a rebadged renault trafic is a Primastar.
@@Irishmacwoof Thats correct. The nv250 (used to be called kubistar), renault kangoo and mercedes citan are the same base. Nv300(used to be called primastar), renault trafic and vauxhall (opel) vivaro are the same. Nv400, renault master and vauxhall/opel movano are the same.
Think about it from their point of view, they have to arrange the repairs, do paperwork, arrange a hire car, pay for the repairs from main dealer parts prices, paint work at the top end prices and then if the repair isn’t for whatever reason 100% it will cost them even more. They write it off to wash their hands of it and move on. It’s easier and probably cheaper for them to do that. Only time they won’t is if it’s just a really minor scuff or something but even then they might write it off. Makes sense to them and we can buy bargain salvage 😃
Insurers and their assessors will just put on new parts rather than reconditioning them or using second hand stuff because it's easier for them to just go to main dealer and get it, even if it's more expensive. 2021 Mercedes Sprinter van driver side rear door? £1200 in colour, including VAT. It's silly prices for some of these parts, and unless you're buying from a breakers yard, the client of the insurance company will just take the money offered by GAP insurance or their insurer and get a new van.
Cracking little van which is going to give someone a lot of loyal and reliable service. Great teamwork between you both with the fault finding and getting the engine to run. The mutual respect you have for each other is something that we can all learn from and aspire to. Just keep it in mind that this Nissan is also a Renault van when looking for parts.
Missing fuse was possibly a sat nav being piggy backed. Had it last year with a Citroen DS3 I purchased salvage. The person must have been in a rush to remove it so didn't replace the fuse. Mine wouldn't talk to the diesel additive pump which turned out to be a missing fuse. Very annoying!
We had one of those vans a 2014, I think, ran great for about 175000 miles. Trans-axle died, in the U.S. you can only buy that van with an automatic, they are so bad no one will rebuild them and there were no good used available. Nissan wanted $6000.00+ to replace it. We scraped it. Wish we could get the manual
Mega easy bargain repair for you guys. Lazy/sloppy estimating from insurance company to deem it cat S total loss when it’s really only a bunch of bolt on bits and a little weld in headlamp panel. NATS (Nissan Anti Theft System) fault could just be from low battery or a key not recognised at some point. Nice bit of diag footage. Keep up the good work guys 😎
What a coincidence. Just recently I was chatting to a chap who runs one of these vans in place of a car as it is super handy for his woodworking hobby. Perhaps this would make a good upgrade to Rob's Combo or for Chris to tow his little boat with. Maybe even build it into a small camper. Some snazzy side stripes would cheer it up nicely. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Thank you.
just bought a ford fiesta in black 400quid few bits missing like broken rear brake light at top of boot n strips on side doors, found parts at scrap yard easy fix, & once cleaned n polished motor came up looking shinny glass cleaner the one 2!
Saw an article recently where they stated that there is a big shortage of new vans. Long lead times. Second hand going for silly high prices. So looks like you are quids in. Love the Channel
The van from our neck of the woods originally recognised the SL start of plate Edinburgh Western Nissan it’s had a tough start to life for a 19 reg but you guys will get it perfect 👍
Nice little French Nissan I have a Nissan NP200 but everything is Renault under the hood and inside. In other countries its Dacia. Still good job guys. I'm enjoying you videos from South Africa. It's tough at the moment here and your videos relaxes me.
I'm more confused at how you filmed at the pump at the start without someone screaming at you over the tannnnoy system telling you to put the phone away lol
Bloody brilliant boys. Rob you have definitely got a bloody good eye for a bargain my friend. With your buying talent and Chris's mechanical skills how can you possibly go wrong... Iv said it before and I will say it again, this is definitely without doubt the best channel on UA-cam. Well done boys... 🙂👍👍👍👍🙂
Rob for 45 years I was a white van man. Anyway a 2019 Nissan a few new panels and Bobs your uncle back on the road. Looking forward to watching the new panels go on hopefully correct colour
I started my career at a Nissan dealer and worked in them for about 10 years. I like these vans, a few of my mates drive them based on my recommendation. Genuine parts are ridiculously expensive though, I'm glad it's not a rear ender as the rear lights are close to £400 each! I think when you find out the wing prices you'll end up repairing them. Good luck with it :)
I watched your Porsche video and then this one. The two vehicles are as opposite as black and white but both videos are as good to watch as each other. Thanks for the entertainment. Cheers
Rob, just a quick note. When you take AC pipes off a condenser, seal them up with insulation tape, the last thing you want is water in the system and you were spraying with the jet wash. The oil in the compressor attracts moisture and can kill the compressor after time. Vaccing out the system will remove most of the moisture from the air in the system but water will take longer. Another great vid, keep up the good work 👍
It was written off on my birthday! It’s a nice van, I like it in black it looks smart and sounds sweet too. Can’t wait to hear the numbers and see it finished.
Really like the little POV vlog style, great content as always, can you do a Q and A when you hit your well deserved 200,000 subscribers. Great content as always!
A really nice `find` and, hopefully, not too much of a problem with sourcing the replacement parts. I had to have a chuckle at Rob`s comment about “bending the bracket, straight.” Ha- ha-ha! It reminded me of a time when, on an over packed bus and someone sneaked on. The conductor said. “come on, get off!” Magic stuff! Anyway, “well done, both.......another winner for you to enjoy.”
The missing fuse for the OBD port may have been on purpose, some people remove it as it stops (well slows them down) potential thieves being able to plug a reader in to code a new key and make off with it, I actually have done the same with one of my cars for extra protection 👍
A very nice find and a good job so far, and I agree not to take any names, but why don't you Auction it off, starting at a certain price, so everyone has a chance to buy it.All the Best, from GERMANY; and yes i'm English, living and working in Germany
Impressed with the initial fault finding, well done and 2 heads are better than 1!! Did my first coffee machine purchase on the Costa app last week, damn clever stuff!!
Lucky boy's. Nice one. Great if you could get one of those every week. As always Rob, thanks for your honesty and detail you give us all. The fuse check details filming were a fantastic bit of detail which helps all of us subscribers when sharing the knowledge.
I like the little NV 200. Here in the states we get the petro engine with an SVT trans. Makes for an economical maneuverable city hopper. Tradesman I have talked to which we’re driving them seemed to be quite pleased with them overall. I have looked at new ones and they seem to be nicely laid out but a little sparse on trimmings.

Smart van Rob. NATS (that you saw on the code reader) stands for Nissan Anti Theft System. So possibly another reason it wouldn't crank.
