    Dude, on the Lynx you just need to take some spring out of the center shock and it will rail corners. No ski lift at all! Balance the sled to how you want to ride it.

  • @pliskie6
    @pliskie6 Рік тому +3

    My experience after owning both sleds, is the Assault is so much easier to ride fast, it's really effortless when riding hard, it stays completely flat in the corner and it just sticks. You can get the Rave to handle good but it takes a ton of effort when riding hard. At the end of a 200mi day your not tired riding the Polaris, the Lynx you are wore out. The PPS3 is hands down the best rear skid in the business if you ask me. The Assault rear skid is way better than my 2018 due to the upgraded shocks, one thing I did this year to make it even better based on the recommendation of so many on social media is I put the light weight torsion springs on and I can tell you I'm completely satisfied with the rear. Way better than the stock springs.

      @@barrthom603 It won't hurt to try the stock springs. If you find it too stiff get the light duty ones. If you do your research on HCS Polaris forum, there are guys 300 lbs that put the light duty spring on and love it. The assaults stock spring come sprung for 300lbs people.

    just got off the trails today. Rode a 23 Renegade 650 and my uncles 23 XCR. I am new to riding new sleds, but I've been riding for a long time. I absolutely did not care for the handling on the renegade, and the reason I rode my uncles XCR is because I've got my eye on the assault. Loved the ergo and confidence on the XCR, didn't like the renegade but I am stuck in between the assault 850 or the lynx. I can't decide.

    the inside ski lift is probably more of a ski pressure thing. does the lynx dart more then that SBA did? if so it needs more weight transferred to the rear so the skis aren't biting so hard. Or some less aggressive runners.

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  Рік тому

      I've run the Lynx like this and with less ski pressure and while it lifted the inside ski a bit less it still required a decent bit of rider input to then regain ski pressure to turn. Im sure I could finese the setup a bit more and I will once the snow is back.

    The brp clutching difference is a big deal to some. I had both (2020 Indy and renegade w/ 850) and the clutching from brp is seriously obnoxious at low speeds through towns or in right slow moving trails in the woods. You're right about the unpredictable nature on the Assault. That's gotten me and my father a couple times. Ultimately the differences led to me selling the renegade for an Assault and now snow checking a new Assault boost

      My next Assault was going to be delayed till end of winter--and a cancel on a Rave came up. I bough that hoping for the best. I was so pleased I sold my Assault once it was finally here--too late. Sold Assault right on the dealer floor to a guy and then ordered a Xterrain to add to Rave. Love both. DONE. Get a clutch kit to tame the BRP clutching down. Maybe add a Jaws pipe for trail proven no controller 10 HP and really be done.

      Don’t let the spelling get in the way of the content. Try not to feel so butt-assaulted. Assault is a second-rate Lynx. Now-I can’t wait till season end to dump my wife’s Indy, too. Just hoping we can limp it along for maybe 2000 total miles. That will be a coin toss. That’s the nature of the Polaris motor/brakes/jackshaft bearing failure lottery. Drinking a little? Or is the damage permanent?

    I recently got the chance to ride a Matrix VR1 and was shocked at how bad it was. The ride is way stiff in the front and bottomed easily in the rear. It was darting badly and honestly wore me out after about 1/2 hour. I am not a fan of wheelies as I like my skiis planted, but the matrix would lift the skiis on acceleration making hard to exit corners on the gas. I think Ill stick with my Renegade Xrs, not that I had planned to change in the first place.

    I honestly don’t get why people like Polaris, every Polaris I know has problems every year. A buddy bought the boost and replaced the entire front end which bent on the first ride. He sold it after the first season and bought a Ski Doo. Fit and finish, tunnel, tether is all cheap on a Polaris….looks like they bought a bunch of parts made in Taiwan and slapped it together.

    I think you don’t understand why the Lynx is what it is. You tuned it to be a Skidoo and that pretty much ruins it. Lynx is meant for active rough riding over bumps. It’s not for people who like to sit still and steer through perfectly flat corners.

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  Рік тому +5

      That does sound to me like what I said at the end of the video.. It wouldn't be much of a comparison if I didn't acknowledge the biggest differences between the sleds. If someone doesnt want to be an active rider and doesnt plan to take advantage of how good this sled is in the bumps then its not the sled for them.

      @@Revrider550 I have to admit. didn't watch the end. I just think people miss how the PPS is supposed to work. you break early and then ride it like a dirt bike. Lean in and go full throttle. The uncoupled rear will turn with both skis in the air. It's supposed to lift the skis in the air just like Pauli Piippola (Suspension) wanted it.

      This was filmed early season. Haven’t gotten a chance to try a Matryx off trail yet TBH. The Lynx was solid off trail. Better than my 21 Renegade XRS but not quite as good as my 19 Assault 850. The Assault got up on top of the snow better with a 1.6 cobra where as my Lynx trenched a bit more with a 1.75 hurricane. The Lynx carves more easily with a rider in the neutral position on the sled where as I’d usually go wrong foot forward to get the Assault to carve.
