If ever there was a singer who could say he lived this song, it has to be Johnny Cash. You only have to read a couple of chapters into his biography to understand how deep and how far back his regret goes.

His last song. It really fits him. Looking back with some regret. He became a Christian, he loved his wife and died shortly after her. Great reaction

The man lived it, ALL, his wife June was on that staircase because she was worried about him and decided to check up on him, she was not intended to be in it but afterwards they decided to keep it in, that worried look on her face is real, she died shortly after this was done and he followed a few months after as if they just could not be kept apart no matter what.

What is chilling about this song is that it was prophetic.
The video came out in 2002 .
June Carter Cash , his beloved wife , died May , 2003
Johnny Cash died 4 months later , September 2003 .

It’s hard for me to watch this video, it’s so SAD.
(The same is true (for me) for the Queen video “These Are The Days Of Our Lives” when Freddie is ill… I hardly ever watch that.)
    BUT ON A HAPPY NOTE:
CONGRATULATIONS ON TOPPING THE 1K MARK, HONEY!!😍
BTW… If you’ve never seen the movie “Walk The Line” (Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon… Reese won an Oscar for playing June Carter Cash) …about Johnny Cash, it’s REALLY GOOD. (One of my FAV movies, actually.)
And don’t worry, it has a HAPPY ending!😁

is a cover of Nine Inch Nails song...but the writer of the song (Trent Reznor) was so impressed by Cash's performance that he's pretty much said that's really Cash's song....on of the last songs he recorded before he passed. And showed a master closing out with pretty much as must style and grace as I've ever seen really. It is a dark dark song though ....Trent kind of wrote it during his drug abuse days. And Johnny had those days when young too but he pushed it to another level.

Yes, the song is a masterpiece... one that was written by Trent Reznor and performed first by Nine Inch Nails. I love both versions as they come from completely different points of view. Cash certainly did nail this cover, though.

This song and video always gets me in the feels. It does such a great job of snapshots and snippets of his life. He had his fault and addiction battles, and fought them courageously. This is a man at life’s end reflecting on the good and bad, all of it.

Love your reactions! And I have a soft spot for Queen. But I’d like to make two non-Queen requests. “Welcome To The Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance, an emo rock band founded in Newark, NJ after 9/11, and Mein Herz Brennt by the industrial German rock band Rammstein. There are two versions, a traditional rock one, and a stripped down piano version one. Either way, Till Lindemann’s vocals are eerily amazing.
