Thanks again for coming by and making this video Chad. I personally think the way you edited it was great. I tend to ramble quite a bit when I start going with stuff. lol.
When I started out, I mostly used ER collets. I never would have thought that I would use mostly weldon tool holders a couple of months later. You can buy them for 40 bucks in excellent quality, they have incredibly low runout and theyre very stiff. Changing tools? 20 seconds. Hydraulics are nice as well. I dont do 5 axis hard to reach parts, so I have no need for shrink fit (yet).
Bro, fantastic video. Love the channel. Subbed and looking forward to more vids. If you’re ever in Australia we’d have you in for a tour of the shop for sure 👊🇦🇺🤣
QG65 is sweet. Best thing I purchased for my Haas ST20ssy. Nice shop! Thanks for the bar puller call out. Going to give them a call and possibly get one. I have to adjust mine constantly and it's a pain the ass.
Bright young man! Very nice shop as well. Did you know DN Solutions is the 3rd name change? First was Daewoo, then Doosan. For the price you pay for Kurt vises they should have a nice steel stamped tag riveted on to them rather than a cheap sticker that will be off in little time. Nice video Chad👍🏼👍🏼
15:00 yeahhh, my first VMC is a Cincinnati Arrow 500 and it's great, but I reeeeally wish I had a 750. 20" travel is really hard when I only have room for one mill. I have an OEM 4th axis and a 5 axis trunnion with standalone centroid control, but it's hard to cut dovetails on my stock on the same mill. I wish I had at least 30" in X
I've been loving these shop tours! It is nice having an edited version, maybe you could also have a longer uncut version? I'd definitely watch the longer version if i had the time. I can also see not wanting to have two videos that as essentially the same thing though.
Interesting people calculation the price of doing interesting and complicated things. A good machinist can produce a functional part cut with a hacksaw, drills and files.
There is work out there that does not require it in certain circumstances. Long story short, it is getting harder and harder to do. That is the reason we are in the process of being accredited ISO 9001:2015. For really serious aerospace stuff you really need AS9100. I am going to hold off on that for now as that is much more strict than ISO 9001. In the future we may get it, but for now I want to walk before I run sort of thing. If it were up to me I would stay with zero certifications, but the things I want to do basically require it.
I'm115 minutes into the video.... please figure out a better way to plug yourself. I've seen 2 hard cuts do far. I think you'd do well to integrate your own business in your videos in a smoother fashion. Great video otherwise btw!!!!
I plead the 5th. Probably not hard to figure out. I have just came to the realization that I need to go a different direction than what I am doing now. It gets harder and harder every day. For reasons most people wouldn't necessarily think. The great thing is all of my machinery is 99% paid off at this point and I will be 100% debt free on the business very soon.

23:06 What brand of cabinet is that? (Or where did you source it?) It seems well built and has a nice form factor.
Great video.

Didn’t know Tom green ran a machine shop

I’m in elkridge Maryland if you ever want to visit a motorcycle machine shop with 3 vmc 5 axis and other specialty engine component Machines.
That would be awesome! may be a while until i can get down there but i'd love to do it. What your email? or, can you email me? chadkschmidt@gmail.com
How are you doing aerospace without being at least ISO 9000?
