Bird Photography: Photographing Owls | Day 2 | Nikon Z9
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 вер 2024
- This evening I found and photographed the barred owls I was able to find a few days ago. This time I was able to find at least one barred owlet and also found both adults. This was a really nice and relaxing time spent sitting and enjoying the owls company. They are such amazing animals to watch and I always enjoy finding and photographing them. I hope you enjoy.

About Me:
I am a full time wildlife and nature photographer in New England. I hope to use my experience and education in wildlife sciences and ecology to help share the beauty of the natural world around us. It is my goal to use my videos and photos to share my experiences and inspire others to appreciate and feel a connection to nature.
The part around the 20:00 mark where the two owls were preening each other: priceless. ❤
Thank you! I was holding my breath hoping it was all in focus when it was happening!
Beautiful work! I’ve never photographed barred owl babies. I have found some great horned owlets. Those fuzzy bodies are just too cute. What a great find! I would watch your channel even if I wasn’t a photographer. These videos are full of information and just beautiful productions.
Thank you I really appreciate the kind words! They really do look unique when they have all their fluffy new feathers! Thanks for watching!
Fighting insects is one of the hardest things in birding, good video friend.
Thank you for watching! Yes it is! This is the west time of year for them around here.
This has been a great couple of videos with the owls. A great find! I was lucky to check in a barred owl nest and 4 owlets this spring too. My little ones are elementary and middle school age now, so they were able to come with me one night! You put so much work into your videos, all of the broll adds so much in addition to the stellar main subject video and photos. I also always appreciate the natural history tid bits like explaining the connection between the caterpillars and the migrating warblers. Great work!
Thank you I really appreciate it as always! It’s great you were able to bring them to see the owls! 4 owlets is a really unique find!
Awesome so lovely video once again
Thank you!
Hi Todd hope u r well. Always enjoy your videos. Best regards from James in Scotland. Keep clicking.
Hi James thanks for watching from across the pond! I am well thanks for asking.
Great video and your overall all approach to wildlife photography is spot on! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
Great job with the video. I had a similar experience with some Barred Owls and young about a week ago. Those are special times, for sure.
Thanks for watching! Any time with an owl is always amazing!
AMAZING work,Todd! GReAT camera work as well 🎉🎉
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Very nice. Like your all videos
Thank you I really appreciate it!
Good experience, Todd. But just watching the insects after you made me itch all over.
Yeah it is really buggy out. We have had a lot of rain and the mosquitos are relentless. Thanks for watching!
Really awesome!!! Todd
Thank you I appreciate it!
@@ToddDeWaldPhotography Todd, I want to send you some items about photography, and i sent some private message on facebook and instagram, looking forward to your reply.
the owlet in sun looks like its on fire or holy. awesome footage.
Do you have many mosquitos? I can not go into the woods, cause ill be swarmed - sadly not able to take any pictures and many ticks also...
Yes that’s what I thought! Oh yeah the mosquitos are relentless this time of year. Lots of bug spray and long sleeve clothing helps but they are still very annoying!
Do you plan to have photography adventure in our Taman Negara Kuala Tahan and Merapoh, in the state of Pahang, Malaysia.? Deep in the tropical forest, among the oldest in the world
Not anytime soon unfortunately but it is on my bucket list! Thanks for watching!
do you record video and take photos with the same camera?
For the pictures and video footage of the wildlife I use the same camera. The Nikon mirrorless allow you to flip between photo and video really easily. I do use a different camera for the footage of myself though. Not sure if that was what you were referring too. Thanks for watching!
@@ToddDeWaldPhotography Yes that is what I was wanting to know. Thanks for the information
