Beautiful work. That final shot from ROTK where you see the ship leave and the glittering sky/ocean + the music is my favorite shot of the entire movie
AWESOME. Both the unboxing and the display. The lights were a genius touch and look very well made. I think this is one of the best channels in all the website, and your level of skills, in videomaking, technology and crafting, is really really great. 10 minutes extremely well spent!
What an astonishing piece and what an astonishing video! With the work and creativity you put into these videos, you’re one of those channels that deserves every single subscriber and view you get and a whole lot more! Big love from the UK
Spectacular. When you lit it up, it was truly magical. What a beautiful piece indeed, but the light panel is what makes it really come to life. What a scenery. And what a review once again, the cinematography is just great.
Man you're amazing. Can't stop watching your videos. Your dedication to The Lord of the Rings products is just admirable and your set up is just beautiful. A real modern cosy Hobbit hole.
Wow! Wonderful review for a great piece from WETA...🤩 Your custom base is amazing to... 😍 it would be produced for each collector who want this Grey Heaven statue... 😉
The piece is magnificient and the details incredible. With the light it brings the piece all together and I can really see the scene from the movie in this setup. Really well done !
Wow! This piece was really amazing looking and paired with the custom light it looked even better! I’m in the hospital because of a bad case of pneumonia so this video really made my day better, good to have You back👍👍👍👍
Hey Knut! Oh no sorry to hear about the pneumonia, that's something to really take serious. I hope you a speedy recover and always appreciate your support and comments.
Absoulutely stunning capture of this piece Ryan, and this is a virtual masterclass on how to edit and produce a collectibles review. Glad I have it on order, and now truly regretting not ordering that superb back light!
Great video as always! The way you edited the unboxing sequence... VERY COOL! The piece itself is great as most of Weta's sculpts are, but your display stand makes it magnificent!!! 👏👏👏
Thank you sir! 😄 Yeah I was in a cheeky mood that day... my computer might have crashed a couple of times trying to render three 4k videos with feathered masking/lumetri color/and scaling all at the same time but I was happy with the result. Appreciate the comment man, love your videos!
Magnificent! You guys have really taken an outstanding piece with plenty of depth and sophistication and taken that to a whoooole new level with your LED backdrop! Also, yes, I am pretty certain they are paintbrush bristles. I have the same on a few other pieces.
Thank you Grayson! Yeah that seems to be the consensus, I had just never seen them before so it was a little odd... I removed about 30+ and keep finding them 🤣
Wow this one is amazing. The water is strangely the most impressive part to me. Something about making it seem like it has waves and depth is so cool. Also the lighting looks phenomenal!
I love to get this one. I have Helms Deep, and really enjoy the detail in that one as well.. you can spend some time looking at these statues.... only to return later, to look again :) Well done WETA. Another nice video 👍
That looks great! The light makes it how it’s meant to be. From what i have heard that hair is actually from brushes that are used to paint it. Not my first time seeing them. Some complex sculptures like environments have more of them since they have more places to get stuck.
Thank you! Ahh that does make a lot of sense, I've found around 40+ of them, but yeah if there's gonna be a piece they get stuck on, it's probably this one 😆Thanks for commenting!
Excellent review and really like the back drop with lighting modes. I have this on order. Would be interested in purchasing a backdrop if you happened to think you could make a few more ?.
Hi William thank you for watching. At the moment we're not taking any more orders as we wanted to make it a limited thing of 20, but if anyone cancels I'll reach out to you.
The consensus from other commenters is that they are brush bristles, but I had never seen it before on any of the 20+ Hobbit holes so I was confused as well 😆 Appreciate you watching!
The additional lighted stand makes the total package. It almost makes me wise I bought the Grey Havens when it came out. Think they should have made the ship a separate piece to set on the water so that they could have given it more details and made it less bulky. It also looks like they're still having some problems keeping the aqua finish of the water off of other objects around it. Nice editing on the triplets in the beginning. Three can work faster than one. 🙂
I was actually thinking something like that as well, I wish it was a bit more detailed but I'm still happy with it. The aqua color on the surrounding objects I just figured it was like water splashing on the things since there are waves, that being said maybe some white paint there could have sold it better. Appreciate you watching and the comment, I wish I had 2 more of me to help me finish the 20 of these Lighting displays 🤣
@@thecyberhobbit if I ever got my hands on one of these Gray Havens I would definitely want the lighted displays for it. It improves the statue a hundred percent.
That is impressive! 😮 Especially with that lightning, it gives to that feeling of endless horizon. Did you try real sunset/rise with that? :D Even Grey Havens doesn´t belong into my top favorite locations, this is wonderful. I would like to see big diorama of Hobbiton, not just Bag End (even it looks wonderfull), but Bag End with other houses, party field, mill with pond, hedges, fields, a hollow way. And if there was one narrow spot, from where you can watch it from a pedestrian point of view, some place like when Bilbo is running with that adventure contract to catch dwarves and runs through that passage. This form of diorama gives it fell like you are a bird (or in a plane :D) and watch it from that perspective and it feels realistic and I would like to have it with the Hobbiton. 😀
I made a big diorama of Hobbiton with all the Hobbit Holes, maybe not exactly as you described but my own interpretation. Always appreciate your comments and thanks for watching 😁
@@thecyberhobbit Of course I know about your diorama of Hobbiton, It is absolutely awesome and I was impresed by result, but it is imposible to have that much details in such a big diorama, in compare to Weta´s dioramas, which are smaller and they have years of experience, big team and much higher budget. And that small detailes are important to have that feel "it is real scenery from a bird perspective". What would be awesome, if that your Grey Havens Light was able to create starry night sky and Northern lights (aurora borealis). :D Don´t know how... Starry night sky: maybe some Fiber optic lights? Or some cover with holes and some with more layers to make them paler. Northern lights (aurora borealis): some LEDs on top of the screen, but I am not sure if this was a part of Tolkien´s world :D
Some of it is hand sculpted and some of it is digital. They create a master model first from these techniques and then have that model cast to replicate it. All the painting is hand painted.
Hi Sergi, I do, but made it a limited thing of 20 and all spots are taken, I'll reach out to you in case any are cancelled though. Appreciate you watching!
