This is not true If someone blocks you on Facebook Messenger, you can't send them messages or make audio or video calls. You also can't see their posts or activities. idk. But in my case, I only blocked that person on messenger, but after weeks I can still receive messages from that person, though I can't see what is was cause it only shows "sent a message". I tried experimenting after that incident, I notice that if you blocked them only on messenger, they can still message you but the recipient won't see that message. But if you block that person on facebook on the "settings" and "blocking", that will be the only way they won't be able to message you.

No you do remain friends. A block on messenger does not trigger unfriending.
