Late reply, but if you hear deathstep for the first time, you will notice that there's a lot of distortions in deathstep. Well, deathstep has component of distortions such as sinfold and white noise, but Minatory goes all out with distortions, so most of stuffs that you will hear on Minatory tracks are really distorted as it would give an impression of being hard, but the bass component isn't necessarily heavy or gritty. So far, the heaviest bass drop I ever heard is Evilwave & Antima - Tinnitus & Lord Swan3x & Code: Pandorum - Deathstep Tutorial, and the hardest drop is Kretery - Sektarian & FEAST FOR CROWS - You're a Waste of Bullets, Id Rather Use an Axe. Still, Evilwave & Antima - Tinnitus is the heaviest deathstep banger I ever heard.

nah it's not poor quality, it's the way it's actually made. Some deathstep and minatory producers like to have this overly compressed and "flushed with white noise" kinda sound.
@@someguy7448 it isn't so much that we like to have that sound, it's just that mixing so much whitened noise and really sub-heavy sound designs is a pain in the ass, not to mention a lot of deathstep producers are amateurs and haven't been making music for very long. E. Some improve over time, others do not. Couple of the best examples of well made interesting deathstep is from Moth, Venom/Ruined, Necrofiler/Atomize, Punishment, Havel, Autoamtik and Influx's newer work. White eye's tracks from recent years are leagues ahead of his really old tracks as well. Insanely well done stuff.

Overall a pretty decent list and you're one of the only channels that actuall knows the difference between Death- and Dubstep and puts many great examples. In my opinion you could've put in better examples from Code:Pandorum, but hey, that's just my personal opinion and I won't blame you for that, and 10/10 for the Evilwave choices. There are even many Dubstep ones i really like and I wanna listen to Excision again^^

In heavy deathstep drops poor sound quality and everything is fine
nah it's not poor quality, it's the way it's actually made. Some deathstep and minatory producers like to have this overly compressed and "flushed with white noise" kinda sound.
@@someguy7448 it isn't so much that we like to have that sound, it's just that mixing so much whitened noise and really sub-heavy sound designs is a pain in the ass, not to mention a lot of deathstep producers are amateurs and haven't been making music for very long. E. Some improve over time, others do not. Couple of the best examples of well made interesting deathstep is from Moth, Venom/Ruined, Necrofiler/Atomize, Punishment, Havel, Autoamtik and Influx's newer work. White eye's tracks from recent years are leagues ahead of his really old tracks as well. Insanely well done stuff.

Next time you make a part 4, add one of Obsidia's songs. He's way too underrated and he literally doesn't make generic things like many dub/deathstep artists make.
if you do another one of these, please include more *recent work* from producers like Punishment, Moth, Automatik, Poison/Dala, Havel, Dead Cowboy / Anubis, Necrofiler, Defect, Harsh, Influx, Swarm (formerly Neuropath/Kretery), and Venom/Ruined. They're defo more in the Elite production value for deathstep, not sounding so much like a Minecraft tutorial vid.
