  • Loog guitars were designed for kids, but this video explains ways they can also be beneficial for Adults / Grownups to play, learn, and experiment with. Loog guitars are unique 3-string guitars that are small, portable, and could be fun for guitar collectors, adults who found 6 string guitar difficult, or anyone who wants an unusual guitar.

That's a great idea! Seems like a good possible activity to bond with your child. This playlist of mine might be a great place to start. I keep things pretty simple, and you'll pick up on some finer details of guitar posture as well. Would love to hear how you all end up doing!

I have been looking at getting a cigar box guitar, because of the three strings. However, the sounds is quite different, because Cigar Boxes aren't designed to be musical instruments. That's how I discovered The Loog. I wonder how hard it would be to install a pickup on this thing

So is it considerable to get a loog e guitar as a adult to learn to play the guitar or should i start with a ‚normal‘ 6 string guitar?

Hi, thanks for asking, and that is a good question! Have you tried to play guitar or any string instruments before?
I think it really depends on your goals and how you learn. I think the 3-string Loog guitars (pro size, not the mini) would be good for an adult who wants to start playing right away and have chords be really simple. (Rather than something that takes lots of time and practice to do well).
I'd say it takes a lot less time to start playing along with songs on the 3-string guitars than the 6 string guitars.

@@BenBrillCreative i actually tried playing a 6 string guitar about a year ago but as a full time working man with a side hustle called college it‘s hard to put 100% effort in a six string guitar so my hope is, that i can play a nice and fun guitar with the loog 3 string you know

Hey Ben! I'm curious about the Loog for myself as an adult who has only basic guitar skills - all I can do is chords. The lessons seem very accessible and easy to follow and I feel they'd make it easy for me to build more skills in a low-stress way. I'm just wondering, do you know of any other resources that offer similar lessons but for a 6-string guitar?
