That's 4 mpg better than my 2023 Highlander. Everyone thinks a turbo 4 is the solution, but a well tuned V6 works pretty well.

I bought a 23 highlander with the gas engine and gave me horrible mpg, maybe cause it was new? Anyway didnt like the way the transmission was shifting and lagging at times so I sold it. Looking to buy a hybrid.

What is there not to love about this 2nd gen traverse. It just looks great overall and has everything that just made sense. Nothing complicated or funky about it. Any person with a brain cell and an eye to details would've saw just how great it feels when you want the best of both world feature and comfort. 9:22

great road trip car with that kind of cruising range and comfort. have to say though the high country model at 53k is a hard sell

Love the Traverse. Always one of my favorite vehicles to pick up. Like you said, drives like a couch. Disappointing to see 27 MPG though! I just drove a 2018 Honda Pilot AWD for work. Indicated 33.5 MPG, actual was 30.6. Similar driving conditions as this trip.

According to real world results on Fuelly the Traverse averages only about 1/2 MPG less than the Pilot while offering considerably more passenger and cargo space.

One thing I didn’t hear you mention is how rain negatively impacts gas mileage. Had your road conditions been dry, you likely would have seen even a higher MPG result.

GM Chevy had a volt a plug in hybrid electric which was successful in my opinion and right now getting a very high price on the used car market. So why did GM not continue with this program in their SUV's which would be like the RAV 4 Prime.
GM could have made a AWD SUV plug in with a 40-50 miles all electric range and 35+ MPG on gas with a depleted battery, they would then give Toyota a run for their money.
Gas here in Northwest Oregon is over $5 a gallon for 87 octane regular gas, mpg is the first concern with many people on a limited income, which today is a large majority of the population.

Had this car for a rental. I really loved the car! Good to know GM has adaptive cruise on these cars. Before, I had to rule them out because of a lack of that feature. And I say this as a Honda/Toyota owner.

Funny how people vary. I have adaptive cruise on my Silverado and it got disabled the very first time I drove it and it's been disabled ever since. 30,000 miles and counting. NEVER used that garbage feature.

Ah, the GM 3.6 or the Ford 3.5...Would you prefer timing related total failure or the engine out water pump replacement today? Both are on special today in our Traverse/Explorer department lol.

3.6 timing chain issues were fixed in 2012. May want to update your trolling.

@@abu_muhammad That is right. Owned a 2015 traverse for 8 years and in those 8 years changed battery, brakes and front head lamps after 6 years. Head lamps did myself after watching youtube 😅 and those were obvious replacements on any vehicle and thats it. Was a work horse. Zero mechanical issues.

I love chevy traverse but they are too expensive makes you want to rather buy the highlander.

Why would you need lane assist to make the experience better ?
It may feel like a couch but you actually still need to drive it .
