Yeah ive cycled that road from Brecon and the views are amazing. On the TCR definitely wouldnt take the £600 decals option with those hex shapes so good to see this without them. That tornado paint makes me fall in love with red again. Such a deep red. Very nice. And yes seems you was losing daylight very quickly there.....

I love FWD cars and I love RWD cars. So for FWD cars you can thrown ‘‘em round a bit, tuck them into corners and then really step on them. For RWD cars it’s all in getting them sideways and then bringin ‘‘em back in line. And also burnouts of course. These are for me jut some of the fun things you can get up to in either FWD or RWD. Then for all wheel drive it just ain’t the same amount of playfulness. Mind you this is just my personal opinion. Some people might think I’m completely wrong I dunno let me know what you think

Great vid however I prefer my Golf R. I'd rather trade a tad more weight for all year round grip and traction. It's a pity you didnt compare it more to the R in the vid, but a great vid nonetheless. One other thing, you can currently get a Cupra 290 for £2K down and just over £200 a month on a lease. Try getting that kind of deal on a TCR :-)
Wouldn’t be any point comparing it to an R, as they’re very different cars. To me this should only be compared with other FWD rivals/siblings, such as the Cupra you mentioned. And I agree, they’re great value.

Isnt the engine in the tcr the same as the 245 performance gti just the is38. If u look on apr site they do a is38 conversation with the same ppf downpipe with a map and it pulls the same power as a tcr mapped.
Hmmmm....I wonder if that exhaust and diffuser would be a plug and play on the Golf R. Without even doing a quick Google search, it seems that the GTI Akrapovic axle-back would be cheaper and lighter than the Golf R version. I have always thought that one or two exhaust tips were plenty (aesthetically speaking) for a four cylinder engine- four is kind of silly. And the diffuser looks agressive to my eyes without being outlandish too. I think those parts would add a unique OEM plus look to the R.
I have 2 friends both with a golf r one a 69 plate with the akaprovic it's so dead at the moment my other pal a older R with the same exhaust sounds mental

It’s slightly better but still there, I put it down to the Cup 2’s on this car. Noticed a lot more wheel hop on the tighter damp roads, where the cup 2’s weren’t hooking up well

I hope the IS38 turbo in these newer cars has been revised because the is afew issues with the play in the turbo shaft and because the housing or what ever it is is made from teflon its a disaster if your looking to remap these turbos. I have a 2015 Seat Leon Cupra 280 and when i went to see Nicky at R-Tech they checked the play in the turbo and advise me not to go ahead with the remap! Total disaster when i traveled from Leeds! It effects 1 in 20 of these engines with the same IS38 turbo! 🤬🤬🤬

@@peterbennpan7288 very little amount of late year models had failure. And these failures are produced by very aggressive tuning and abuse. In my view they are as safe as any other brand.

So you could say I’m a fan of all marques. They all have their merits. I’m undecided if I should boost my EP3. Not new to Honda’s but part of me will miss the high RPM screaming NA madness.

It's kinda annoying that we never got this spec in Australia. I'll just stick with my Mk 7.5 Trendline for now.

2014 and 2015 year models were prone to turbo failure. Next years models are safer. Revised turbos.
