I don't usually watch a full set of videos on How to Play a game. But you did such a good job on explaining and demonstrating and keeping it simple. I like the old school feel and you have a great voice for explaining. I watched them all and even downloaded the game to try this weekend. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to see more of your videos.
Awesome tutorial and adventure video! I have to say that of all the d100 videos, yours does the best job of clearly explaining the rules- especially how blue rooms work! Your videos are always a blast to watch!!
It's so enjoyable and fun to watch your videos! I simply love the way you express yourself. :) I hope you return to this amazing channel, full of treasures asap.
Terrific presentation! What are you using to bind/support your character sheet? And what is that terrific binder you use for reference sheets? Thank you!
@22:45 I think I might house rule that if you roll a naturual d100 or (whatever else you house rule) then maybe you should have dropped your weapon. This is why these rules are so exciting because there is so much room for more randomness and that in my opionion is what makes a great solo game. Another example comes to mind when you found those 250gp - instead I think the gold pieces found would be (1d6*100) + (1d100). you would treat the d100 as 0-99 resulting in a number 100-699 gold pieces. Or maybe you found a weapon or some armor, etc. Your imagination can go bonkers in this game.
Couldn't agree more. If you have the imagination, this game just takes off. House ruling, making thematic decisions/calls works well here. It's about the fun of play! Love your ideas.
All those 000 rolls were wrong, three zeros = 10 not 100, double zeros on the percentage dice = 0, the zero on the d10 = 10. And i will tell you why very easily , imagine you roll 00 0, that's a 100 for you right? that means you are treating the Double 00 as 100 and the 0 on the d10 as a zero...ok If the 00 is 100 what happens wen you roll 00 1 ? is that 101 ? no, that's not possible, its also not a 1 because you just said that the 00 on the d100 is 100, you cannot change the value of the dice to whatever you want, wen you want. To roll a 100 you would need to roll 90+0 = 100.....001 = 1, hope this helps, i see a LOT of people making this mistake.
I came across this video completely randomly. I’m hooked and I must have this game. Where can I find a copy? Great video, the energy that you bring keeps the viewer excited and hooked. Great job.
@@SoloMcLaughlin it was just a really good moment! Also your explanation and text corrections were really insightful, have you heard of: Forbidden Lands or Iron Sworn?
I don’t mean to sound ignorant but just curious,... Is this entirely luck driven? I like the randomness dice give because that’s life, but at the same time I want to know I’m actually participating and making choices with strategy. Am I simply giving randomness in this game? Debating on getting this but it feels 99% random with no decisions. Thanks
Great Video and very helpful. New to game and waiting for rule book to hit my mail box. What holder are you using for your sheets. That looks like a must have. Thanks again.
Hi, I didn't read the rules yet but shouldn't we roll for the type of door just when we are about to cross it. If there is an encounter in the room we shouldn't be able to know if it's a locked door before resolving the encounter first. Perhaps in terms of game it doesn't matter (I don't know how flee works) but in terms of storytelling it seems more logic. By the way good work with your walkthrough. Thank you.
Excuse me, my current position is a dead end, I must go back. Do I need to spend a space at “TIME”? Does it cost a "TIME" every time I go back a map? Even if it's already a searched room? thank you
When you complete the quest requirement and head back do you reroll the room color types as new encounters? Yell ow nothing Red>? Is this again rolled as a new encounter when heading back out of the dungeon ?
en España usamos 5d6 para las tablas y 2d6 para el combate y creación de personajes, pasamos de la reacción rollo, y quién mayor número de 2d6 saca, tiene la iniciativa, que da más 1 de DMG
Can you explain a little bit on how you made your print and play? I know you handed them your flash drive but did you have any specific thing or things you wanted done? Also after it was finished is there anything else you wish you did.
I would say definitely get a color copy. Ask them to bind it. I went for the option to add a clear front sheet and the thick back cover. These are extra but considering how often you flip pages, they are worth it as they give some stability to the whole thing. I saw someone else put some tabbed dividers in theirs. That looked super helpful and I wish I had tabbed the map page and the handy reference page. I bet you could bring some in and after it is printed, but before they bind it, put them where you want. I think that's the only thing I'd do different.
I had no issue with not using the objective rooms, cause I thought you said subtract 40 from your rolls. As you pointed out the highest roll one can get is said case is 60. So thank you for explaining. Having said that, I see that you're not subtracting, why? (9:20ish You have just entered and you rolled a 71, room with a exit and door. You did no subtracting for any roll... I can see I am not understanding something.

No, it does not. Definitely not. Although I love Runebound (and it is a great game) the gameplay experience is quite different from D100 Dungeon. Plus, D100 Dungeon plays quick once you have gotten the hang of it. Same goes for Runebound although I would wager that it still takes more time than D100 Dungeon.
Just started playing this and had to laugh at your 100’s. In a mission where I was looking for 2 blue rooms, I went through 18 rooms before I rolled a 90+. In that time, though, I rolled 6 100’s for my attacks…it was a long quest.
Excellent video! You did a very good job of explaining the rules. There are two things I noted after watching your video. 1. If you roll an objective item you are indeed allowed to roll for things necessary to complete your quest. So in this case when you rolled and got an objective item, you could have rolled for a part. 2. The numbers in the hit location chart on the handy sheet are in reverse order (it was a typo). They should match the hit location numbers on the character sheet and the combat section of the book. Again, great video! Don't forget to join our Facebook group. There is plenty of information and any questions you have will be answered. You will also find all errata information as some of the tables and other important things needed to be added or adjusted. facebook.com/groups/672373642932827/
Thanks Dorian! I caught the location chart error this afternoon and will show that in the next video. Love the Facebook Group - has been super useful as I learn this game. Zen main I see. Peace be upon you!
Hi, for your #1 comment; if the quest says to 'loot' something, it can only be obtained by looting and no other means. This is stated in the rule book. So no error was made here. Cheers. (edit: ruling is clarified in v3)

7:05 ah yes, one does not enter a dungeon without first uttering the time-honoured cry of "tuk tuk tuk tuk took". 😆
You explained this game perfectly, thank you so much
What an awesome intro to solo rpging! Thanks for the great video
Eat every 12 hours? If there were hobbits in the party the plate symbol would be above nearly every hour.

100 on first roll - we are not playing the same game, apparently :)

So the Percentile Die or D100 and how to use it?

With all of the erasing, maybe laminating the paper and using erasable pens might be useful...

what about -40 on the encounter roll?
You definitely don't want to "tick-off" (1:51) your food... it might get angry and bite back ;)

Oh, and the word "Unusual" does not usually start with an 'A'. ;)

Handy walkthrough - thanks. Just wondering - should the time tracker have been progressed before drawing the next room?
Yes, you should always tick time at the start of every turn - before you draw the new room.
what happens if you roll a 30 on encounter roll when you have -40 modifier? does it go down to 1? or do i reroll?
