You need to add a flight controller and a lipo to it. That way you can add betaflight/cleanflight to it. And actually have a real quadcopter.
For something of this size, I would recommend a f3evo brushed and a 600mAh 1s.
Then you can control it with a rc transmitter.
You would need something like this. This would work with frsky radios, such as the taranis.

A cheaper option would be to get a flysky i6 radio, and a flight controller that's compatible with that.
OR you can buy a mini drone, i got a $19 one in a Costco in my town, it can make tricks, and have a crash proof "jail" made of plastic to bounce out of walls and ceilings:)

It's not a "drone" (as your title suggest) if you can't fly it by remote control. "lose the wires" and the guided pole thingy and maybe you're on to something... c'mon man, 9volt batteries connected to a set of motors??? C'MON man...!!! DJ SOUL FORCE
Josh all you moters are spinning in the same direction this is creating too much torque which is causing you r drone to disbalance and fall down as it is also causing the drone body to spin too. Search online and follow the CWW moter and CW moter formation accordingly.Thanks

This build is very expensive in my country. Motors costs 10$ +
if you attache a weight, say a well chosen fishing tackle weight to the botton of the sphere, it would slow down the drones attempt to roll over, Also, with a couple of different value resistors, say 50, 100, 200, 300 ohm and put in series with the motor that is lifting the most. This, is an attempt slightly slow down the motor to the speed of the other manualy, automatic drones that have gyroscopes have automatic variable resistors to assist with level hover, and with actual flight!
