Did you had to get it tuned , after the cam install , i would like to know because i would like to get a comp cam soon but at the same time i want to know if i will be running into issues for example will the Check engine light would come up , i live in California and Smog check is a Big pain in the 🤬ss here , thanks

Any help is appreciated
@@lethalnate9461 thanks , I had people telling me they schouldnt lose prime no matter how long they sit , I figure they may leak a little but doesn't seem like it's time to replace them yet
@@BigYellow1500 as long as the noise goes away on start up. I don't see an issue, only concern I would have is if someone has replaced replaced the timing set in the past and used the supplied plastic non ratcheting tensioners in the kit. Those are junk..m always reuse the cast steel ratcheting tensioners.
I have a question that I'm going to try my best to explain, Is it normal for timing chain tensioner to take about 2-3 seconds to prime with oil pressure in a 04 mach 1,example if my car sits a few days then I stick my head under the hood and have wife crank the car I believe I'm hearing very slight timing chain rattle for about 2-3 seconds then goes away . So I'm assuming the oil is building pressure in tensioner real quick then in tightens chain. So is this normal or is this first sign of failure, thanks for any input
Sounds like a cam chain tensioner I just had the problem on a 03 cobra and my mach 1. Ford switched to plastic and removed the ratchet from the previous years so that is a sign of it staring to fail.
@@lethalnate9461 that's stout was that on a stock bottom end? I love these machs I used to have a fbo tuned one I always wanted to throw cams and 430 gears in it. I'd go 4.10 with forced induction the 4v loves to Rev. I now have a bolt on 4.10 geared 07 gt500 lowered on an f14 drag pack it's a white stripe delete car. Love it but I'd love to have another Mach one day.

We had just installed the trans. He bought this car with a blown engine. We pulled the car apart and installed an engine he had built and added a t56. But one we got it together We noticed binding of the clutch fork so we had to wait till a pivot ball came in. So this was its first time backing out under its own power and I wanted to be sure it went in reverse.

It runs and drives with no tune. Check engine light is on I think. Deff have it tuned before inspection. But the car will be driveable.

@@BigYellow1500 this is normal. It takes a second for the tensioners to pump up.

This engine did have valve reliefs. Did it require them? Idk exactly.

Never dyno on motor. We put a vortech on the car and made 580rwhp on 9lbs.

I have a marauder that I plan on camming. I just gotta buy 4 cams 😅

@@GDETFM9 he has been driving he everyday. I know my 2v with comp 270s and 4.10 gears on the hwy for 23mpg and 16 around town.
