i mean u could give it a try. ive seen a video of it done b4 although some people (i've done this before too) rig a small fly popper/salt water fly with no bait on their ledger rig and often got a kahawai on it

How often would you say you find kahawai workups around there this time of year? I usually go rangitoto side and haven't run into any for a while!
mostly during autumn but i have found a few odd ones during winter b4 just gotta keep an eye out
What bait do you youse for mackerel on the wharf on sabkis
pilchard or mussel but normally i try to jig sabiki with no baits. far less messy and effective
