Orange Island Drake was so forgotten, they named an elite four member after him only 2 gens later.
Maybe he just got old. 😅
I was like is the same guy from the Orange league? Nope...another one.
Drake said nah my dragonite is over power with gameshark and hack and codebreakers sins it hase 9 moves insted of 4 well team rocket learn that hard way not mess drake overpower dragonite 2:16 that was pikachu learn iron tail for first time 4:47 ash problady hase regrets for lething haunter stay with sabrina or fornot taking that gengar from that haunted mansion 6:49 and pikachu was clad he wasn one stuck in onix bind again wike with brock gym battle 6:13 and 5:09 why didnt he use muk again gengar with Dark Pulse and Shadow Ball there was no way that Tauros going help him again drake unleas he hade paldea version or Tauros or alola muk and ash didnot have lucario back then or greninja which both would have help him win
You make it sound like there aren't people with the the same name
@@dustindean4618 Impossible
Its kind of crazy that people remember Snorlax as a legend for knowing six moves but forget this guy and his dragonite
Dude was only in two episodes
I can remember both.
Wasn't there a steelix in chronicles with 6-8 moves?
Gary had an Umbreon with 5 moves aswell, either that or his umbreon fought a kadabra with 5 moves I don't remember it that well
Kingler had 8 moves in the Indigo League battle
The Drake reference is too crazy You took full advantage of this
Even with Drake's lines in this video (ngl, he pulls it off better than Drizzy could).
The A-minor killed me
Just like drake took advantage of those girls
Explain it
The fucking accent NEVER got old lmaoooo
Drake really said: Nah i'd use 10 moves and be forgotten

You forgot how the announcer was hating so hard that Charizard got electrocuted by Electabuzz and he said I hope ketchum likes his Charizard extra crispy
😂😂😂
Ash's Kanto one time use mons are the biggest definition of beginners luck. Primeape won the entire P-1 Grand Prix, Kingler swept through 3 Pokemon (first one was as a Krabby), Muk got the advantage of having someone he could suffocate, Lapras tied with a Gengar and now we have Tauros #17 phasing through vines. Definitely wasn't intentional but Ash might be onto something. That same thought process even works for Snorlax who had never seen an official battle before either.
Omfg Taurus #17 got me in tears. It's like android 17 being that sleeper pick for the tournament of power. But when they put up numbers like this... SIGN ME UP!
@@ultimasurge its a reference to a story on A3 called Chosen One's Adventures with Legendaries which is a fanfic rewriting and competencing up the Pokemon story. Tauros #17 is the Herd Leader and refuses to let the Betamale take the herd so is constantly demanding battle. Misty also caught an Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros and Elaine caught a fire breed. Ash has 22 of the 30 safari balls registered to him and theres onmly 29 Tauros.
The best Tauros is Schrodinger, the one that cannot be observed unless its in the herd or in the ball
Pikachu has Moldbreaker rather then static as the early anime had and Shadow Pikachu wounds Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and Xeneas simultaneously while Arceus turned all of them into ground types.
Oh, and Ash has the Player Collector style habbit of hurling colormatched pokeballs at his team in it.
Meanwhile, his Bulbasaur has this weird tendency to reverse type advantages/disadvantages. Racks up Ls against Tangela, a random Golem, needs bailing out against a Kingler in the Earth Badge fight, and an Electabuzz here, but beats a Venonat, Beedrill, Scyther, Exeggcutor, and Dusclops. Neutral matchups go either way (L against Bellsprout, W against Solrok).
I know there are exceptions.
@@Rodanguirus Yeah, I would say Bulbasaur is overall reliable but you make some good observations about him seemingly to be better with Pokemon he's weaker than.
@@Rodanguirus whenever Bulbasaur sees a pokemon he has disadvantage against, the simply locks tf in. That's all he needs to win, he's just like that
Fun fact about the whole “10 moves” thing: It was done on purpose.
They wanted to make Drake’s Dragonite Him, so they intentionally gave it 10 moves so it’d seem unstoppable.
... Well you can't do that by accident genius
@Viroh ... well you can also do it on purpose as stated, genius.
@@oneautumnleaff2119 animation is always done on purpose, did you kids not realize that lmao geniuses
Thats against the effin rules of pokemon tho..
@@fishingmasterstudios9481You can catch a fainted pokemon in the anime so who cares really
" drake is down 0-2 - against A minoooooor " 😂😂😂😂
Legitimately one of my favorite fights from the anime during my childhood. Drake's whole team was full of strong Pokemon, but his Dragonite made them look like chumps, taking down half of Ash's team. It felt like a raid boss in a way, with everyone weakening it to a point where Pikachu could finally bring it down.
Agreed, it felt a lot more different than how the usual fight structure in the show goes
With Ditto and Onix? His team was ass
@@diegoxavier9107 If his onix had toxic and bind it would have been pretty great.
@diegoxavier9107 For gen 1 his team was decently strong. Onyx isn't horrible by gen 1 standards since its got okay defenses. Ditto I can't excuse but the rest of his team is straight gas
@@tristanpelkey9109 Onyx was complete garbage even in Gen 1. Its only good stat is Defense, so you can't even say it's got good defenses-- after all, its HP and Special stats are both absolutely abysmal, so it can't take a hit to save its life. It does no damage and has no moves. It can't even be used in an RBY playthrough, let alone competitive. It's about as bottom-of-the-barrel as you can get
7:16 IN ASH'S DEFENSE: Levitate is an ability, those were introduced in Gen 3. Those episodes takes place WAY BEFORE Gen 3. it could have been the Hail Mary Ash wished for.
Tbf dragonite probably was lost in translation given old animes were poorly translated in most cases.
Body - Slam.
Thunder - Bolt
Hyperbeam to its deffense was on every god forsaken pokemon, in modern pokemon its closecombat and knockoff
Also remember some previous mishaps sycther using razorleaf instead of that one normal - spreadmove i dont know its english name😅

The real one was the PWC (World Championship). Alola ended up being little more than prep, a dress rehearsal.
One of the best Ash League Matches in history. That Dragonite was a menace
Even Tobias looked tame by comparison looking back now.
@@SabeNo-rh7mbI mean ash vs Tobias was like the most one sided battle in the anime so ofcourse it wasn't 'epic'
@archanasoni9666 man they hyped Dragonite so much, it felt epic. Like Ash was going up against the God of pokemon or something. They didn't hype Darkrai nearly as much
The episodes writer said he gave Dragonite 10 moves since he wanted it to be an unstoppable opponent
*proceeds to be stopped the first time we see him battle*
@@xavierfristonhughes2955 True, but man, as a kid, that fight went *hard*. It's one of the reasons I really don't get people downplay the Orange Islands and say he didn't win a league until later. He *earned* this. Having Ash up so far, and watch Dragonite almost sweep 4 pokemon straight, including Charizard? Then to have the final fight be pikachu, Ash's first pokemon, in a 1-v-1. That fight *felt* like a satisfying conclusion to the show, or at least the region. Dragonite may have gone down, but it *felt* unbeatable.
@@mentaya11I agree, it felt epic, unbeatable. Dragonite felt like one of the strongest pokemon a trainer could have had at that point

when will it end 😭
nah that was gen 1 dragon tail
So 11 moves then
We would have to count Fly as well
Note: this was written before you started going "Hold on, Tauros is kinda cool here?"
To defend the use of Tauros, that was one of the best mons to use in gen 1 and would absolutely be able to win a 1v1 against Venusaur if it used moves like Hyper Beam or Body Slam (especially if Venusaur's first move was charging up a Solar Beam, like... if this was the games Tauros would've beaten Venusaur without a scratch on him). Still not sure what it'd be able to do against a Gengar with Levitate though, especially since Levitate wasn't even a thing Gengar could do in the games until gen 3, which counters the usual answer a Tauros would have for them (that being Earthquake).
Funny story about tauros in sun I battled an npc with an anger point tauros and the one time I land a critical hit the thing OHKO'd my pokemon and I had to send in a fighting Mon to beat the thing.
I remember watching this, this battle was pure HYPE,i was expecting charizard to knock out dragonite, but when charizard lost,i thought it was over, but when ash won,i was fucking filled with goosebumps
With a fkn rat!
The Drake references didn’t even get close to getting old. I laughed every single time. The songs in the background. The way he spoke. Everything.
Real
24 years later and this beast of a dragonite still haunts the memory of any OG fan, I'm willing to bet it's still a big reason pseudo legendary pokemon remain some of the coolest in the series
Dragonite used to look cool in my opinion until I realized he looks like a freaking Barney the dinosaur reject.
Even more so in his shiny form.
True that😂I like the design of Charizard and gyarados as proper dragons in gem 1 @@easiestcc6451
dragonites are either the cutest little goobers, the bravest heroes or the most FUCKED 'mons and there is NO in between in that triangle
"tauros was tweaking, thinking about red flags and Miltank booty 😅"
17:07 YO CHAIRZARD BACKSTORY
Kinda cool seeing how Ash vs Leon ended just like how Ash vs Drake did, Pikachu versus the undefeated “dragon” Pokémon, ending with a stand-off until the dragon Pokémon collapses backwards. Poetic.
It all came full circle.
Pikachu went HAM against Leon’s Charizard. That was a Pikachu master class.
collapsing at end is a typical and predictable way to end a pokemon fight lol
14:31 "GG, Franklin." I dont think a lot of people understood that reference 😂
People always forget how hype this championship was
I still remember how hyped I was between each episode. Given that was over 20 years ago I feel old ;_;
I think People forget that despite Ash being weak an Inexperienced, He was no slouch, Especially cause he had two of the Strongest Gen 1 Pokemon at that Time in the form of Snorlax and 30 Tauros!
The fact he removed Snorlax for the Considered Strongest Gen 1 OU Mon (at the time) is pretty interesting ngl, He even ran a 1 HKO move on it, something competitive Tauros also ran at the time!
OHKO moves are banned lol
Tauros’s regular moveset is usually
Body slam
Hyper beam
Blizzard
And usually Earthquake but sometimes It runs Thunderbolt to hate on Cloyster
Bro’s Dragonite has photographic memory.
Ironically enough, Dragonite and/or Kingdra have that in the tcg

The Nostalgia I got by watching this
Dragonite just needed 10 simple moves:
-Bolt Strike(electric)
-Prismatic Laser(psychic)
-Wicked Blow(dark)
-V-Create(fire)
-Eternamax(dragon)
-Dragon Ascent(Flying)
-Surging strikes(water)
-Thousand Arrows(ground)
-SunSteel Strike(metal)
-Jungle Healing(Grass)(just to be annoying in battle)
New Ability: *Juggernaut* (which is Fur Coat and Ice Scales)
0:37 im rewatching this that went hard
In the manga, it’s stated that pokemon don’t only know four moves, it’s just that battles only permit that four moves be used. So Drakes not a hacker, he’s just a cheater.
Ong bro I was pissed like bro was spamming the most consistent moves 😂ending was literally .I forgot ash won!!!! 💪
This was the first time I realized a Pokémon had too many moves! I thought Ash’s Kingler was bad, but dismissed it because learning moves after evolving. But even then, it learned too much!😂 But this was the killer. Loved this video because I still liked that Ash won this league because full battle!
Hyper beam! “He can’t keep getting away with this!!!😭””😂😂
15:04 theres no way tauros just gived the nappa treatment to dragonite💀💀
2:00 U almost sounded like the real James xD
I freaking love Ash’s Tauros. He’s so silly.
This fight had Charizard so scarred, he developed a hatred for Dragonites and started learning dragon type moves in the Charific Valley.
If I do remember snorlex in this arc can swim in butterfly single handly beat all the cast Pokémon and just to eat and go to sleep.
It also till this day the most athletic snorlex ever
Ash out here looking like Darvin Ham 😭
hands in his pockets in the face of a dragonite bruh im SICK 😷😭
What I loved about this match is the multiple moves were intentional to make that dragon more boss like considering ash rarely get serious matches like this one.

Bro you make the videos 10x more funnier and enjoyable! Keep it going with the videos my man!!!
Actually, use tauros was Actually a really good choice because of how op it was in gen 1 and tauros have a ground so it could actually hurt ghost because genger is weak to ground and it immune to ghost type so basically it was literally he best choice as a replacement for snorlax
That Taurus really locked in damn
I dont think you understand how incredibly busted Taurus was in the first generation games, he was cracked
Drake walked so Tobias could run, both W videos by the way.
Yo the Toronto accent and slang was super on point 😂😂 you def a Toronto mans lol
My theory: Pokemon moves in anime simply doesn't work by game mechanics and rather apply real-world rules. So, just like you don't forget multiplication tables when you start learning calculus, a Pokémon shouldn't be able to just forget an old move upon learning a new one. It's more likely that the trainers choose to not use the less powerful early level moves in favour of the stronger ones (like why use Scratch when your Pokémon knows Metal Claw). Also, certain moves in the anime are totally legal if the Pokémon has the physical capability to do it regardless if it learns the move in the games, so any Pokémon with teeth can learn Bite, any Pokémon with claws can Scratch and any Pokémon with a body can use Tackle.
You feeling yourself with that drake voice 😂😂
