@@DVST23 Your welcome. Be sure to properly prepare the soil, sow your seed and either lightly rake it in or very lightly cover it with some fresh top soil.
Regular seed with starter fertilizer
Scotts is not the same anymore. I'm gonna switch to Pennington from now on.
I don’t blame you after these disappointing results
Does it work on Texas? Like on summer?
Hello. As long as you use the seed type available in your area, this should work just as well! Thank you for the question
Thank u bro
Thank you. Much appreciated
My rapid grass was grown in thick within 2 weeks. Not sure what happened with yours.
That’s awesome I’m glad you had good luck with it. I tried it many times as you seen in the video. I have talked to many others who have also had issues with the Scott’s rapids grass. That’s awesome that you were successful. Question is yours a southern lawn mix or cool season. Just curious
I'm going to go with the regular seed. I was going to say the rapid seed at first. Wow day 5 is really looking good for regular. I got to say this was very interesting. Excellent video brother 👊
I know it was long, I was trying to make it as short as possible but I wanted to include as much information as possible. Thanks for watching Bill!
@@MyGreenLawn2019 Something like that I think 45 minutes was fine cause it's a learning process also. Your very welcome brother 👊
@@wildbillslawncare5901 thank you for your kind words
@@MyGreenLawn2019 Your always welcome brother 👊
I mean hell I can’t argue with the science. So naturally I’m going to get the Pennington and use Scott’s on the small side patch of soil and see what happens. If the Pennington wins then hell I guess we’ve been lied to. I’ll even track the results on video.
That would be to track. I love Scott’s seed but this particular one did not fair well, and I gave it multiple chances to succeed. I even called and wrote Scott’s about it and they did not want to discuss it with me lol which I found funny. Thanks for stopping by my friend
i have been wasting money. Back to plain seed for me.
Actually in this example its Pennington Smart Seed which also has starter fertilizer in it, and as you can see here, it works great! Thanks for your comments! I hope the video helped. Now I did notice, and I ordered some, that theres the packaging you see in the video, then theres a NEW Pennington smart seed, I sure hope they didnt change the product any!
Lawn care nuts!😂😂😂
That was an accident. I hope allyn hane finds it funny
@@MyGreenLawn2019 they shouldn't, clearly a mistake, thanks again for the test!💯✊️
When this stuff grow can my goats eat it ,
Sure. It’s just grass my friend
@@MyGreenLawn2019 I have this annoying cud weed killing my Burmuda grass, I’ll have to dig it up by hand. Thanks he grass barely coming up. I don’t want to use chemical because the animals eat on the land.
Does this grass self spread and turns dark green?
Just check for something called endophytes. Pennington Kentucky 31 was initially designed for pasture grass until they discovered endophytes, which is a built in fungus or bacteria that provides natural insect and disease protection. livestock die if they eat it, but great for a residential lawn. Bright lime green that Kentucky 31 is and it looks great.
You should have added starter
There is starter fertilizer in both seed mixes. Plus I did add extra starter fertilizer in one of them in the experiment. Maybe watch the video again it is kind of confusing. Thanks for watching and commenting
I've tried Scott's 3x and it dies each time after starting to grow in a few days I'm done with that brand 1:26
Give Pennington Smart Seed… let me know
Glad I didn't waste my money, the Rapid Grass price was a lot more than the other brands, so I thought maybe it is something special. However after watching this video I'm convinced it is not worthy of the name or cost. 🐇
Unfortunately I would have to agree. In fact even though the video has posted I have continued to water these and the Rapid Grass still looks like 💩. Don’t get me wrong Scott’s makes good stuff I just don’t know what the issue was with this seed. Pretty odd. Thanks for watching
Now let me ask you, is it possible to over seed? My grass is fine , I just wish it to be much thicker, what would you recommend?
@@hudabomb28 do you have a cool season lawn such as Turf Type Tall Fescue? Yes you can over seed that. Some people prefer a spring time over seed, some prefer a fall time over seed, personally I like spring, as long as you can get it down early enough. Hope that helps. Be sure your able to water it often till it establishes itself.
Me not watching 8days after laying Scott’s rapid grass down 😢😢😢😢
Haha I wish you luck my friend. Hopefully it grows for you. I did get some growth, just not as good as the Pennington Smart seed
Wow, regular seed!
Surprising results
@@MyGreenLawn2019 definitely!
Never had much luck with any Scott's products, coated seeds, grub killer, etc...their stuff just don't seem to work :-( wasted enough money with this company...
That's why I choose Pennington Smart Seed, works great. Scotts does have some products that aren't to bad, but their Rapid Grass is junk.. Thanks for stopping by
I bought the pennington smart grass. If it don't perform its going back. I'm not paying for crap that don't live up anymore.
I would totally agree with you. Just be sure you keep the seed moist at all times, do not let the soil dry out for at least 7 to 14 days. I hope you got something out of the video! Thanks for commenting
You saved me a lot of disappointment. Thank you for this video.
Your welcome. I’m glad the information was useful to you and thanks for your comment and your support
I think there was less seed in the Scott’s you put in. The Pennington smart seed had more seed per gram. So you would need to put more weight if Scott’s down
I appreciate your input for sure. I gave Scott’s every chance to succeed, I like Scott’s seed but the Rapid Grass is junk. I did multiple experiments inside and outside Scott’s rapid grass failed every time. I’m just presenting my results, these videos take months to produce it’s very hard. If you trust Scott’s rapid grass, feel free to use it. I personally wouldn’t waste my money on it. Thanks for taking the time to comment
@@MyGreenLawn2019 Hey MGL I meant it all respectfully. Thank you for the great content.
How come big company make shitty product like that
That’s a very good question. I really like Scott’s seed and I truly expected better results. I did call Scott’s to try and get some answers, but no one wanted to talk to me.
