    • @airair7190

      Almost impossible. Your active duty E-6 pay wouldn’t cover your dental school tuition regardless how much BAH you get every month

    • @nathanfox5861
      @nathanfox5861 2 роки тому

      @@airair7190 no, if you go to a public school instate it’s very doable. Only because you are considered active Duty which lets you qualify for the GI bill which pays a very significant portion of that tuition for you. So at ~210k over 4 years plus Roths that you can contribute to and have matched up to a certain number and the GI covering around 60-70% if I recall the math for tuition coverage. Even factoring in living expenses which for me is ~15k a year based on this year for me you are getting paid to go yo school. That isn’t true for every school since the living cost can vary drastically along with tuitions, but for instate it is more then doable. And you get some tax breaks, and since it’s a pay check you can invest that money and take out loans since as of now at least schools loans are at 0% interest you can come out further on top. I have used that money to diversify into buying property which I can use as a rental and will be able to live there virtually rent free. If you do it and owe money it is entirely on you for not doing your due diligence.

    I have a question.
    My daughter wants to pursue a career as an Army Doctor. She is dual enroll and she is senior this year. She will finish with her associate degree and high school at the same time. Would it be better for her to finish her Bachelors and apply to Med School out in the civilian side first an apply for the Army Scholarships as a civilian, or enlist and take the combat medic route an get her associate thru the Army an apply to medical while in the Army? Thank you

    • @redshark618
      @redshark618 2 роки тому

      I know it's late, but for posterity: I'd recommend getting the bachelors first IF she can afford it. That will be the fastest option since she'd go straight from bachelors to med school under HPSP. If she enlisted, that would add an extra 4-6 years to the timeline. Enlisting may be worth it for the GI Bill to pay off undergrad, and to increase her maturity and improve her chances at HPSP. But it's not strictly necessary. If she is already mature, a good student, and can afford a bachelors, then going to undergrad will be the simplest route to med school.
