- Bones of History, created exclusively for the Nantucket Historical Association by filmmaker John Stanton, documents the events surrounding the sperm whale that washed up on the eastern end of Nantucket in 1998 and now hangs as the centerpiece of Gosnell Hall at the Nantucket Whaling Museum.
This was so historical and educational. Having lived on Nantucket for about 25 years total...This really summed up the Sperm Whale and Whaling on the Island. Strange to see so many people I knew & met while living there here in this short doc.
Thank you....brilliantly done!!!
Great coverage of a very interesting story. My Mom's family are Islanders Marthas Vineyard Island it was also a fishing and I think a whaling community. My uncle's old beat up pickup truck was used in the filming of the first Jaws movie.
Amazing
Wonderful.
At least you did not blow it up like Oregon .
great
Really? Weeping over a dead Sperm Whale? Seriously? That's too much Disneyland mentality I think.
Sad, poignant and enlightening.
