- Gorgeous. Fast. Ferocious. It's dangerous being on the food menu of a six-spotted tiger beetle (Cicindela sexguttata). This white-spotted, bright iridescent beetle crushes and slices its prey before consumption.

Yummy.
I am convinced that I am the only person who has gone on a week bender and had one tattooed. Specifically a six spotted green. For real. Just in front of the inside of my elbow
I am not covered in ink

The Tiger beetle moves so fast that sometimes looks like he is teleporting lol
Right! They are fast...
I thought this was a feature documentary clip, you got some really really good shots in this. V good content
Thanks much itsprobablym3! I'm no expert with the camera but improving each time I take it in the field.
In the beginning it look like a toy like I wanted to play with it lol 😂
Haha, yeah I guess it does have that toy-like appearance.
2:48 Wow that was brutal. Such a majestic looking beetle but this thing is a beast and ferocious as it just stands still with his mouth working like a chainsaw. My goodness 👀
Well described almost401! Majestic yet ferocious.
@@KoawNature Yes indeed! Without a doubt 😎
empires of the undergrowth lol
Great introduction
Glad you appreciate the intro on this one, Ieira. =)
Fantastic nightmare fuel for my character concept, thank you!
Haha, alright! It is quite an intimidating insect.
We should all be grateful insects are tiny! They would truly be terrifying otherwise.
Now I know why these guys are hanging around my back patio. I have a ton of ants right now I can't get rid of and these guys are running around like crazy.
Nice! Where there's food...
Tiger beetles and dragonflies are my favorite insects. Incredible imagry!
You HEARD a rove beetle?!
Yeah it was crunching dry leaves almost like a mouse moving around on the forest floor!
thanks for the shoutout! and great video!
You are very welcome. And thanks to you as well!
Wasn't expecting the beginning man, I really appreciate the thought. One love.
Yeah, indeed. Cheers!
Great video.....
=) Thanks.
its so fast it looks like they go in stop motion xD
That's not a big ant. It's half the size of beetle.
Everyone's a critic!
I like that you look at the world in layers. You’re showing us activity that is several layers closer to the forest floor than I ever get.
Thanks Sarah! It's hard even seeing that detail until I get back into the production aspect and really blow-up the video. The details on the beetle are just fascinating to see in macro shots.
Koaw Nature , so the discovery doesn’t happen just in the field. Interesting!
what a beautiful beetle!
Yeah, I agree. The six-spotted tiger beetle is a beauty!
@@KoawNature I've seen a few here in utah too, but more commonly see a black and yellow species. I cant decide which one I like more xD iridescent green or pattern
First time watching your vids and gotta say love it dude keep it coming 💯
Much appreciated! Glad you stopped by for a watch.
I'd like to see a this beetle vs a Bull dog ain't
the beetle stands no chance against a ferocious 3.5 CM bulldog ant
Will the beetle eat the ant's head, or just the body?
The beetle I observed did not eat the head. The head is palatable but perhaps this beetle just felt the other segments were all it wanted.
Wow
Wow! Nice crisp footage! What did you shoot this with?
Thanks Fraser. For most of these shots I believe I used my Nikon D7500 with a Tamron 70-300 lens. The lens is actually pretty cheap but for the price it is an amazing lens.
Good shit brah
Thanks Rob!
That is absolutely beautiful
This is the only cool bug we have here in Quebec
It is a pretty cool creature. =)
Loved the video, Beautiful beetles! Good vibes man
Appreciate that! Cheers.
I just saw one of these in Wisconsin had to look it up. Crazy color to it.
Right? They just stand out so well.
