    LYRICS:
    I'll get this feeling
    That my heart is leaving
    You'll start believing
That your lungs are finally breathing
Is this the turning point or having we hit the burning point
If you ever thought of letting go
    Would you let me know
Cinnamon girl plays on on repeat
Every time I try to sleep
Cinnamon girl just plays on repeat
and the ground falls away from my feet
    I'm in the ocean
Looking for the shores of devotion
    You're in the sky
And I never asked you why
Cinnamon girl plays on on repeat
Every time I try to sleep
Cinnamon girl just plays on repeat
and the ground falls away from my feet
    I've lost mobility
My eyes are closed but I can see
That we run on different roads
    Would you let me know
If this is this the boiling pot
Where my heart decides to stop
Have we all been taught to fall
    Does it hurt at all
Cinnamon girl plays on on repeat
Every time I try to sleep
Cinnamon girl just plays on repeat
and the ground falls away from my feet
Supporting what is set to be another successful, 15-date UK tour, October Drift's second EP finds the Somerset four piece displaying a cleaner, leaner take on their visceral post-rock.
After knock out singles, bizarre videos and a true hunger for relentlessly touring the country, the band are enjoying a concert following more akin to artists with label financing, and their fanbase is growing precisely because of their emotional, sonic hybridism.
New EP ‘This Is Nowhere’ is about the singlemindedness that comes from working towards a goal and how other aspects of life can be neglected / change without you noticing.
'As individuals we're all really driven - which is great - but can sometimes lead to losing sight of our personal lives. I think being in a band can be pretty single-minded, what with the amount of time and energy you have to put in and finding time to switch off and focus on other things is something that we all find hard. We’ve missed countless family events and in some cases ruined relationships because of it’
Created as a result of just that, lead single ‘Cinnamon Girl’ was written after singer/guitarist Kiran was lying in bed, semi-conscious and just about noticed Neil Young's 'Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere' LP skipping on the turntable.
Acting as a recreation of that drowsy, half-wake feeling in blistering fashion, the lyrics represent those things that happen when you’re half asleep and your mind is drifting from thought to thought.
Other tracks ‘Get With The Times’ and ‘Snow Into Dust’ introduce the idea of letting go of all emotions and attachments in life and sacrificing them to achieve a goal - “there’s something to lose, when there’s something around”.
‘Cherry Red’ is a track which deals with missing out on things happening in life and the determination to continue regardless. Here you also hear October Drift at their brutal best, as the infectious melodies are swallowed by screaming feedback and relentless, fuzzed up bass.
With shows at BBC6 Music Festival, Dot to Dot, Tramlines and Camden Rocks already under their belts alongside a cult fan base spreading the word, and a focus too few peers in their position possess, the immediate future for October Drift is very bright (and very loud).
