So what were some of your favorite games of 2019? Thanks for sticking around as I continue to release one video every couple lunar cycles. If you want to relive or catch up on content I put out over the year, check out the Critical Nobody playlist - bit.ly/2M3r65U
For me I'd have to say, Metro Exodus and Division 2. I'm a massive Metro fan so I was so happy for Exodus' release and played it, start to finish, 3 times in a row. The first Division was my looter shooter of choice, with an interesting premise so I was very happy with the Division 2 and what it improved on.
I never thought that you'd get this far dude, I'm really impressed with how well this channel is doing. I for one click immediately when I see you've uploaded a video. Keep up the good work Craig.
2019 "The Year of Unspoken Teamwork" - Apex Legends and their "ping system" allowing team oriented BR's to feel exactly as they should (without a mandatory need for mics) - Death Stranding and their "connected" world with making you feel like your a part of something larger despite doing something alone & boring - Cross-Play between both consoles & PC players in Call of Duty Modern Warfare I'm sure there's tons of other examples that have emerged or shined this past year, but I definitely got a sense of more individual teamwork amongst complete strangers compared to previous years/games that are either completely invested in single-player experiences or forcing awkward cooperative /multiplayer ones. Just my own thoughts though? Perhaps I'm overthinking it .
I am really glad to see that you still have the same motivation to make videos as you did a year ago. I really like your content and am glad that you are trying to continue your youtube career.
With DMC, a lot of the backlash came from a drastic character change from the fun loving Dante to a wannabe edgelord that was unlikable. Not to mention how incredibly antagonist and insulting the developer was towards the fanbase
Craig, truely and honestly you are the only UA-camr I watch who I feel like I am watching a friend make videos, having a slight personal attachment I suppose. It but it has been so satisfying to see you develop your content and grow as a creator. This is your passion and I hope I can continue to help by enjoying it.
2 years after the game launched and it only grew on me with time. Disco and Bloodborne (WITH the old hunters) are the only games from the last decade to join my top 20 GOAT.
The most frustrating thing about your Resident Evil 2 video is the unresolved cliffhanger... WHAT HAPPENED TO LEON KENNEDY AFTER TWILIGHT SPARKLE SHOWED UP??? Lol, I would totally watch a Storybook Weaver video expanding and finishing that story haha Honestly I have no nostalgia for Newgrounds, I clicked on that video and have watched it many times, as I have all your videos because of, well, you! I said this in a previous comment, don't know if you saw it, but the youtube channel, Critical Nobody, is just a happy place for me to be. All the best for 2020 and I really hope to see more from you :)
It's horrible to say, but I found your channel very late. Splinter Cell got me. I'm a proper knob when it comes to subscribing as I'm sick of my feed being full of the same thing. I unsubscribe to any channel where I've not watched a video for a month when they're clogging my feed. You got me in with that one video, and the relative lack of new videos means I watch them as they come instead of skipping. Love the channel. Hope 2020 is as good for you.
I think Outer WILDS was a surprisingly amazing game. Probably my favorite game of the year alongside Jedi Fallen Order which I also did not expect to like so much. Other than that, kind of an uneventful year imo.
Tbh you deserve more subscribers, Sure you review games like other people but It’s you’re personality and the way you create you’re videos that makes you different from everyone else! I hope you play Resident evil 3 because it looks really good
About Disco Elysium My dad bought it this year and we kinda played the first bit together and we had a blast! Slight problem was I couldn't watch him too much because I planned to play it myself and didn't want to get spoiled. So I DID play it myself, in a 6 Muscle character, and LOVED this no brains all muscle way, that the game supported! And the game reflected it as well! With your characteristics being dominant, triggerhappy and pretended like you're immortal! And last but not least: It made me care for the characters, which...rarely happens!
Disagree with a lot of the picks, just for myself, I particularly would've put the Capcom games much higher and thrown in Fallen Order as well as Sekiro, but that's fine. Hope you continue to make great videos man, nice to see your channel getting attention :)
You're awesome dude. Really enjoyed your Splinter Cell vid. Don't always feel the need to explain yourself to the bad comments makers. Just keep giving us quality content. You're an artist 👌🏼
Nice and surprising list for the year. This is why I go to these lists. To see what people like more instead of the most obvious that website channels usually do. If I had to choose a game that came out in 2019 that would be my GOTY, it would've been Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice hands down. But if it was games I played and beaten in the year overall, Sekiro would've been topped by Hitman (2016), and What Remains of Edith Finch. Edith Finch was a fucking experience.
Really love your vids man, keep going but make sure you are always enjoying things you do. Would be awesome to see maybe 2/3 Hitman/Splinter cell videos per year - but don't bend to your audience. Always just do what you enjoy and if everyone else does too, then awesome!
I knew you had a ending joke to throw in there at the end. Seriously happy to see how much you've come with how long ive been watching supporting a much as I can. my time has been difficult that i missed many streams but still happy when im able to pop in. since your old videos of CoD and silly moments with Saints Row 2, you grown a lot in edits and the way you do things. RE2 Remake (My childhood trauma hasn't healed with closing this gestalt, too bad. hopefully RE3 be scarier) 4.Fire Emblem 3 Houses (haven't finished it, but damn is it so good) 3.Monster Hunter World Iceborne (it's not a DLC, for me) 2.Ace Combat 7 (i played AC2 back in 1997, only in 2018 played them all, The Japanese AC3 is the full game. and AC7 is friendly enough to play even for new players, also the 3 VR missions are amazing ) 1. Devil May Cry 5 (loved it, i felt that i won't like DmC DMC, so i never bothered to play it, also loved the Drug Addict Dante look from the start, and it was reviewed well by people that i watched, so this whole controversy went passed me, and i just skipped it, but this game was worth the wait!) HM: I'm sick and tired of Souls type games so i didn't checked Sekiro or Remnant. i was there since Demon Souls, DS2 was memorable but i didn't finished it, DS3 wasn't and i skipped it, BloodBorne was great. Disco is great, haven't finished it. Luigi's Mansion 3 - i need to try it, right after i finish 1 & 2 which i bought in order to play 3, but haven't played any, so it's in the bucket list. Katana Zero was great. Still waiting for Ion Fury on Switch i'll check Amid Evil Stygian: reign of the old ones - is one flawed Chtulu game that is pretty good.
Fun list, the fun of these for us here anyway :), is the ones we agree on, the ones we maybe had not heard of an the 1 or 2 on t he lists we all do which appeal ONLY to us and a smaller minority. Was a fun watch thank you very much for the upload.
Code vien: If you can look past the dlcs the game is a very fun take on the arpg, a term that me and my friends use instead of souls like, just the builds you could make made the game feel worth it.
Got one new subscriber in me, you got pretty good mindset, otherwise my game of the year is Red Dead Redemption 2 even not fit in your list I not play consoles and was awaiting this big time
I chuckled so hard and feeling so conflicted about your review of Death Stranding. I have not played the game yet and wondering if I should get it. 🤣🤣🤣
jedi fallen order really caught me off guard. I wasn't a huge fan of sekiro, so when I decided to play fallen order, I wanted to hate it. I didn't. I would say it was the most polished 'souls-clone'. Did you ever get around to playing it?
I’ve played every single Fire Emblem game and honestly Three Houses is one of my least favorite Fire Emblem games. I think it’s great that you love it and many of other people. It makes sense that people love it because it’s most people’s first FE game. It’s decent, but not my favorite. Don’t play Fire Emblem fates, though. It’s bad.
I havent played a single game off this list... The only games I remember from this year are Sekiro and Ace Combat, both quite good. Another game was Hades - a really amazing early access title and Code Vein. My Goty would have to go to Total War Rome 2 though, not released this year but soooo good!!
just started watching your videos, love your stuff! also we have similar tastes in games so im about to check out Remnant. Also I found your channel through looking up a review for Oni.
I'm interested if you have played Tenchu Z on the Xbox 360 and if you have would you consider reviewing it? I'm interested in your thoughts. It's a game that stuck with me in my childhood.
You spend a lot of time giving disclaimers about the people who disagree with you on these games like you need to placate them or trying to get out ahead of their comments. You have a lot of good points, just lay them out and don't be worried about what they think. You make good videos.
Donald Anderson I don’t really see it as a problem to acknowledge the flaws in something and lay them out upfront. If I thought something was a masterpiece and everyone who said otherwise was a hater, I wouldn’t bring it up. But when I know something is going to be contentious, I don’t see the harm in saying “Yeah I know this thing has issues and understand why you might not like this but here’s why I do”
for some reason i was really excited for death stranding. after watching some gameplay to determine whether i should buy it or not, i found out that i am way too impatient for a game like that
Um Craig? I don't know if you know about this but Capcom confirmed that choices and multiple endings won't return in the RE3 Remake. They're about to make the story look inconsistent again huh?.......
anybody who still doesn't get death stranding i implore you to watch super bunnyhop's video on it i still don't know if it is my kind of game but i understand the appeal so much now
I can explain the hate for DmC. Despite the fact that it was functional, in terms of quality of audio, graphics and mecanics it was a step down. DMC4 wich released four years earlier looked much better and ran better to. Story and character wise it was this preachy anti consumer game made with the help of capitalism. It took itself far to seriously. If original was posed, reboot is just mean spirited.
Well glade you like Fire emblem three house. I won't lie this game you can play whit permadeath and not fear character dieing much (you got the turn back time mecanique to protect you form it any way tho if you want to play on harder difficulty and don't want to lose character you can do so) Perso I like Hard/Classic (I don't like Easy it a bit too easy and for Luna I didn't try it but form those I saw play it just seem bullshit hard where you can't do what you want to do) If you want other FE game there a lot of good one tho it depend if you want to emulate there, if you got a Wii U (tho I don't know if the store still work), or if you got a 3DS. You got 4 story for Three house SORRY FOR THE BAD ENGLISH Any way nice list there some weird pick in it I quite like it.
I like the DMC series, so I can shed some light on why the community hates DmC. To preface: I haven't played it but I've watched and read a lot about it because I find the whole affair extremely fascinating. I understand if people wanna dismiss me for not having actually played it myself. The main issue with it is that it has very poor writing all around (and that . The game is not nearly as bad as everybody says it is (hell, it's not even the worst in the series, thanks DMC2) as it has a good aesthetic, beautiful levels, and fun if simplified combat. But man, that is some really poor writing. Donte came off as extremely unlikable (yes, that was kinda the point but even unlikable characters need to have some positives so people feel invested. Donte didn't have any). Attempts at humor just felt really juvenile (lots of "fuck you"s, Donte being an asshole to people, and an awful "I have a bigger dick" comment come to mind). Mundus was super unimposing. Vergil's change of heart at the last second while expected was super out of place. Kat felt like she had no place in the story and could have been replaced with just about any character. The previous games had their problems too, but the main focus of DmC was that it had a strong focus on the narrative, which meant that when it (the narrative) ended up kinda bad, there wasn't a whole lot to like about the game. It didn't help that the game felt like it was massively disrespectful to the series (which we now know is thanks to Capcom's meddling). However, a lot of the hate is hyperbole. It's not an awful game- hell, it's not even that bad. But poor story + extremely unlikable protagonist + not what the fans wanted + bad blood between the developers and the community = extremely, extremely divisive game.
Sir, I like your channel and I have subscribed. But you kinda remind of the "I'm not like other girls" trope. For a lot of your opinions, but keep uploading your opinions and content and I'll continue watching.
Borderlands 3 was definetly designed for pc first and console second. Why is the text so tiny? Already have a hard time reading text from spider man ps4
I will for once follow that statement. My favorite game was Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It almost put me into tears a couple times cause I couldn't defend like I could in Dark Souls, So I would miss a couple deflections, and get killed. But it's really amazing, and I adore it, but since my timing gets off, I wasnt able to deflect properly always, and if you get stun locked you gonna die. It still was my favorite game I played that was released this year. My favorite game that I just played was Tales of Berseria, or Celeste though.
RE I played a few hours of Sekiro and respect the hell out of it. But after multiple years of playing Souls games, I just don’t have enough patience these days for brutal die every five steps experiences. Plus I’m terrible at parrying.
Man fuck that game, its PC port sucks balls so hard it's unplayable for me. That 60 fps lock is a no go for me and no that stupid program to uncap it didn't work.
@@CriticalNobody It took a while to 'click', but once I understood the worlds and the mechanics I couldn't play anything else until I completed it. It's so brilliantly original. And as a Splinter Cell player, you'll have no trouble working it out 😎

Critical Nobody my favourite was DMC5 personally
Sekiro was by far the best game in terms of quality, it’s perfect
Mine was death stranding
Joe Armstrong Sekiro is amazing. It’s also my favorite.

I love your retrospectives on stealth series, perhaps a couple you could do can be the Thief and Sniper Elite games?
Or Dishonored.

2019 "The Year of Unspoken Teamwork"
- Apex Legends and their "ping system" allowing team oriented BR's to feel exactly as they should (without a mandatory need for mics)
- Death Stranding and their "connected" world with making you feel like your a part of something larger despite doing something alone & boring
- Cross-Play between both consoles & PC players in Call of Duty Modern Warfare
I'm sure there's tons of other examples that have emerged or shined this past year, but I definitely got a sense of more individual teamwork amongst complete strangers compared to previous years/games that are either completely invested in single-player experiences or forcing awkward cooperative /multiplayer ones.
Just my own thoughts though? Perhaps I'm overthinking it .
Wrong. Tom Clancy’s Shin Megami Guantánamo Final Fantasy Yakuza Far Cry Tournament Revengeance 11 Pro is the best.
Just Derp nice

If you want other FE game there a lot of good one tho it depend if you want to emulate there, if you got a Wii U (tho I don't know if the store still work), or if you got a 3DS.
You got 4 story for Three house
SORRY FOR THE BAD ENGLISH
Any way nice list there some weird pick in it I quite like it.
Re 2 remake should be number 1
still alive, after sam fisher killed him, TWICE
I will for once follow that statement.
My favorite game was Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It almost put me into tears a couple times cause I couldn't defend like I could in Dark Souls, So I would miss a couple deflections, and get killed. But it's really amazing, and I adore it, but since my timing gets off, I wasnt able to deflect properly always, and if you get stun locked you gonna die. It still was my favorite game I played that was released this year. My favorite game that I just played was Tales of Berseria, or Celeste though.
11:41 :0 wow WOW!
Sorry man the opposites true for me, 2019 felt so packed with amazing stuff
oof no Sekiro
RE I played a few hours of Sekiro and respect the hell out of it. But after multiple years of playing Souls games, I just don’t have enough patience these days for brutal die every five steps experiences. Plus I’m terrible at parrying.
Man fuck that game, its PC port sucks balls so hard it's unplayable for me. That 60 fps lock is a no go for me and no that stupid program to uncap it didn't work.
borderlands 2 had a similar level of co op easyness
WHERE'S PATHOLOGIC 2?
Hi I haven't watched the video yet but congratulations to Outer Wilds for the win
Oh.
This bloke really needs to play Outer Wilds.
Bongo Baggins Based on what I know about Outer Wilds, I might be too stupid to get into it.
@@CriticalNobody It took a while to 'click', but once I understood the worlds and the mechanics I couldn't play anything else until I completed it. It's so brilliantly original.
And as a Splinter Cell player, you'll have no trouble working it out 😎
