    OK, the most informative and wonderful consultation I've ever had in my lifetime with any physician. If in doubt, do book a consult, Dr Taylor is even nicer in person if it's possible to believe it. Cannot overestimate the value I got out of that consult. Thank you for everything!

    Barbie, this is my issue . As someone who has used the estradiol patch, the manufactures pamphlet states "Who should not use estradiol are", people who have and have had cancers, including cancers of the breast or uterus. They also give a list of possible side effects using estradiol, which include heart attack, stroke, blood clots, breast cancer, cancer of the uterus. There are a few more. So scary. So you can see why women are afraid to use it. I am one of them.

      I've had endometrial cancer and use estradiol. It was Stage 1a, so early. That shouldn't matter.

    • @Linda5904-d8j
      @Linda5904-d8j 3 дні тому +5

      I believe there is a push to update the manufacturer’s pamphlet for the patch since it is the estradiol pill, not transdermal patch, that can increase the risk of blood clots and stroke. Also, the risk of breast cancer decreases when using bio identical transdermal estradiol patches. When paired with bio identical oral progesterone if you still have a uterus, uterine cancer is prevented. Don’t be afraid!

    • @R-anne7375
      @R-anne7375 3 дні тому

      @Linda5904-d8j No, It's the estradiol patch. I have it and have used it. I have the pamphlet that comes with the estradiol patch. It comes from the manufacturer of the patch. I've also heard that they are trying to change the pamphlet. That in itself is worrisome. Sounds like they don't want us to know.

      @ I know those warnings are in the pamphlet for the patch. I use the patch. The warning box in the pamphlet reflects the flawed WHI study where women were taking synthetic hormones which are not even prescribed anymore for the most part. The patch is a totally different animal. That is why the warning in the pamphlet is so misleading and irrelevant for the bio identical patch. It needs to be updated because it is promoting fear. I would love to hear Dr. Barbie’s thoughts on that!

    • @R-anne7375
      @R-anne7375 3 дні тому

      @@Linda5904-d8j The study was done in 2005 . They found out years ago that the study was flawed. I think they've had plenty of time to change the pamphlet. I don't think anybody really knows what's going on with that. And without another study, we will never really know. The study's are so expensive so who will fund it. For now, I believe what the manufacturer of the product says.

    In the book “Estrogen Matters”, the authors talk about and refer to studies where estrogen was the treatment of choice for breast cancer (or at least certain types of breast cancer). Can you speak more to this? Love your videos!!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 дні тому +1

      Yes, it all depends on the kind of breast cancer. But this requires specific tailoring on an individual basis. So it's something that I can address in a consultation. No two breast cancers are the same. Women should never compare their breast cancers.
      If you'd like me to help you assess your breast cancer, please schedule a consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.

    I was diagnosed with DCIS grade 2 a year ago and was told to get off HRT. Needless to say, my menopause systems have worsened. I was prescribed Tomoxifen by an oncologist and I never filled the prescription. I am under surveillance (no lumpectomy or radiation). I took the risks test and results show very low risk and does not run in the family. However, heart disease and Alzheimer’s runs in my family. I want to get back on HRT…. I’m 1 year post menopausal at 57 years old. I hope I am able to find a Doc who will prescribe it for me.

    I love your prison analogy! It is so true. I had DCIS breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy. If I had known doctors were afraid to let me have HRT, I would have had a mastectomy so I could take HRT. I offered to sign a waiver, but they said that was no guarantee that my family wouldn’t sue.

    Excellent video! I had stage 1 breast cancer (ILC); estrogen + in 2020! Had a bilateral mastectomy and scored a 13 on my Onco test. I’ve been on HRT since 2023. I make sure to get my mammograms every year and self-check every month! Quality of life is amazing! Thanks to you for the education on how to manage menopause my way 😊

    What do you think about 'Winona' where they sell you products after you answer some questions?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 дні тому

      I think it's a typical computer algorithm that gives you choices based on your answers.
      What it doesn't do is take all your personal risk tolerances into account.
      I believe in empowering you to manage your menopause your way ... confidently and successfully. I do not think you should have to ask anybody else what to do. With an adequate education, you don't have to ask anybody else what to do.
      If you ever schedule a consultation with me, you will discover that I create a document specifically for you that addresses everything that concerns you. These documents tend to be on the order of 100 pages. I send them to you nine days before the consultation. That gives you plenty of time to read through them. And then, during the consultation, you are able to make forward progress based on what you read and your reactions to it.

    My doctor told me that because my Mother died of a heart attack that I can't have hrt. My mother died at the age of 67 from a sudden massive heart attack. She was offered hrt and refused it because of the whi study. I often wonder if she had taken the hrt would we have had longer with her. For docs now to tell me that I can't have hrt because a deficiency of estrogen killed my mother is ludicrous. I live in a rural area in Ireland. We don't have that many docs around and I've been through every single one of them and each one of them has a different excuse, all fear mongering and infuriating.

    B, you look very capable to see menopause patients in the office. Why don’t you do that? Not the whole week but 2 to 3 X per week. The US is very short of competent providers. It will not be much different than making a video. Just gynaecology for meno and not obstetrics. You could easily work until your mid 80s…think about it!
    BTW: having no introduction, and going straight to the point, was a wise modification on your videos. 😊

      I retired from active practice in the year 2001 because of severe arthritis. My severe arthritis is still present and persistently worsening. My body cannot take the physical rigor of practicing medicine.
      Believe me, if I could still practice Medicine I'd be doing it until I die. Retiring was the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to me.
      This is why I offer online consultations. If you'd like one, you can schedule it at MenopauseTaylor.ME. Believe it or not, I can probably help you as much or more in a consultation than I could in an office visit. Consultations are one, two, or three hours ... depending on what you schedule. Office visits are just a few minutes.
      I hope you schedule, and I hope to meet you and help you.

    Doctors are afraid of medical malpractice. Thus, they refuse to hear your please whrn menopause is vicious. They'll give you an antidepressant.
    My huge issue with IB/GYN doctors is the OB side of their practice makes them more money with pregnant women's visits and delivery of the baby. Gynecology problems are not necessarily making them as much money when you get a few appointments abd surgery. It's as if gynecologic problems aren't as important abd overlooked.
    Medical schools should have the option of doing just Gynecology work and that is where menopause education would be included. They can also have obstetrics only, or mix of both. It would be a better service to women to have a gyn who's very well-educated on gyn problems and surgical procedures, such as endometriosis excision.
