This lovely work was once a regular on the old light Programme of the BBC. Probably on the programme 'Friday night is music night'. I loved it then and I love it now. I was unaware of this Marco Polo recording and it is now a must-have. I once read that Samuel was a favourite pupil of C V Stanford. He taught him well. Thanks Rodders once again
Whimsical, engaging and really rather charming Suite. Dedicated to a long-time "invisible friend" to Light Music (especially British) on this channel who has, for the past three years, made his presence felt with a well-exercised thumb. I'm sure he'll be over the moon about Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's music............
A much under-rated composer , should be remembered and played. He died so young
