- I don't like to let Ros up the roof, but he always finds a way to escape when I don't pay attention for a second. I do trust him but it's so high... Cats are crazy.

a cat's agility is always impressive, the way it flies up those stairs and walks next to drops 100 times its own size
It's partly that they have a tail for counterbalance, partly that their terminal velocity is lower (though not low enough to completely escape injury from a height like that), and partly that they're overconfident idiots that don't quite realise the danger (kinda like most humans).
It would handle that drop better than us. Smaller/less mass is good when falling.
Looking at fall distances as "X times their own size" is a bit of a misconception.
The cat is made out of the same stuff as you are, so it certainly isn't going to be any *less* durable in a fall. Except, the cat also weighs less so its legs have to dissipate less energy.
Imagine dropping a tiny stone and a massive boulder off of a building. It's pretty intuitive that the big boulder is more likely to break, right? Somehow, our intuitive perception of heights changes for living things. It's always been fascinating to me.

I had to giggle at how wonderful it was to watch the little paws moving so fast and precise on the gutter edging. Cats are amazing!

OMG, this is the most amazing WhiskerCam I've ever seen! Up on the skinny roof ledge, two stories above the ground, as if it's no big deal. You can see people in the street below who are unaware of the furry Wallenda above. Then he's back home, showing no sign of his great adventure.
This once again proves to us that cameramen (or.. cameracat) never dies.

An alley cat used to come in and out of my windows on the second (top) floor and live with me when he felt like it. I once watched him catch a bird out of mid air while he was jumping from one roof to another. I called him "Downtown". Great cat!
