TST Industries created a super clean complete system for the DRZ 400S and DRZ 400SM. It provides you with everything you need to clean up the tail end of your bike. Remove that ugly fender and replace it with this sexy taillight with integrated signals, and plate bracket to give your machine a revamped modern look. The system is plug and play and installs in just minutes, with no modifications necessary to the bike.
Compatibility:
2000- Suzuki DRZ400S
2005- Suzuki DRZ400SM
2003-2004 Kawasaki KLX400SR
I note this video is now three years old but the tail light fender eliminator is awesome. Perfectly integrated and much neater. Good work. However, pity I can't say the same thing about the license plate light. This seems like an afterthought and the wiring is very clunky compared to the oem style plugs of the tail light assembly. I write this from Australia where a license plate light is required to meet local design rules and such a light integrated into the main unit would be a big improvement.
That is the best install video I’ve ever seen. Well photographed, well lit, well paced, clear and concise. I think you just made a sale!
Thanks for the kind words and the support!
@@TSTindustries You actually did make a sale ;-)
Awesome kit, very high quality, very fast shipping, very good installation video and no need to hack up the wiring harness on a bike with 50 miles on it in order to install the kit. Personally could not be happier, and i'm glad i cancelled my DRC Edge order and went with the TST instead.
by the way, the installation videos go a long way. I know this is a simple product that is not difficult to install, but having a guide to follow that completely removes all ambiguity from the process goes a long way.
Thank you sir. That is exactly what we aim for with our installation videos. Glad that it worked for you as we hoped it would for most.. Cheers!
you guys are awesome, just installed this kit last night watching this video. SO easy. Now time to sell my DRC Edge kit. Beautiful product and instructions, came with everything I needed
Thank you! We're glad we could help you out with your build! Make sure to follow and share pics with us on our social media, we'd love to see the new look.
This install video was the reason I bought the kit. Cant wait to install it
Very nice product! If get a DRZ I'll definitely consider buying this kit. Looks terrific. But 120 bucks for someone who lives in Europe and doesn't earn that much, plus transportation fees... It will take a lot thinking! Thanks for the very good video.
I agree Gabriel. I live in Ireland and had to pay huge extra for nice lights. Take ages to come over in a Steamship too. Winter will probably be over by the time my new LED headlight comes(( Anyway I think they will be good quality))
I was here back when he made his products on his kitchen counter in Jersey ! 👍🏻
Who dis? Carlos?
TSTindustries yup
Just finished installing it on my bike!
How do you like it? Do you think the blinkers are bright enough for people to see?
@@klakklaksd it was enough for people to see it directly behind me, but I also signal with my hand because People don’t really pay attention lol
@@mateohernandez5087 gotcha thats true, makes sense I appreciate the feedback!
This twilight is great but packs with dirt off-road. Should have a short flap extension under light with license plate light integrated in flap. Keep it clean!
Very happy with the way the clear taillight looks on my white DRZ. Bought this with the brake light modulator and the only issue I have is that the wiring isn't long enough to allow the modulator to be tucker away under the seat, meaning I had to ziptie it to the subframe under the rear fender and leaving it exposed to the elements. Going to rewire the harness over the winter to allow the connectors and the modulator to reach under the seat.
Hmmm...when did you purchase your modulator? We did a video on the DRZ showing that installation under the seat. I will post the video link below.
ua-cam.com/video/Do7b0mevaWU/v-deo.html
I bought it earlier this summer. I received the standard wire harness that plugs the modulator halfway between the taillight and the oem connectors, at the first connection underneath the fender.
Not sure why though, I bought it as an add-on directly from the DRZ page.
this video made me decide i want one of these
We love to hear that!
I'm like 80% sold...I wish that license plate light was integrated too. It feels cheap to have to tap power for the license plate light. Otherwise awesome design.
Smart design is modular. There are so many guys that shop for motorcycle parts that do not want a license plate light. I don't know the reason...we just comply with the most universal approach to satisfy everyone. Our license plate light is developed to work with any of our kits, for those guys that want a license plate light. And you don't necessarily have to tap in if you don't want to. You can make a pigtail with a connector set that comes off the main tail light connector.
@@TSTindustries #1 thank you for the reply, great customer service! I get what you are saying about the modular, it's a great product and now I'm 95% of the way there! The extra 5% is just me sucking it up and pulling that trigger!
No worries man. Take your time. We aren't going anywhere.
Great product and good install video!!!
Video was very informative! I have the same exact bike so it made it Uber easy! Awesome product guys, well done!
Awesome! Thank you!
Here's a question I don't see in the comments below..... Under full compression of the rear suspension will the tire hit the license plate on any drz400 model? Has it been tested to ensure clearance?
It is tested with OE suspension and tire size and North American license plates. We considered that factor during design. Then we road tested a bunch with good results. You may be able to make contact if you were to do a big enough jump to bottom out the suspension hard enough to squash the bottom out bushing.
I don't understand why the license plate light isn't already included...? It's already $120....
MotoBoy many guys don't want a license plate light on their setup so we don't include it in the set by default. There is no need to charge our customers for parts they won't use. It is available separately for those that want to use a license plate light.
TSTindustries you missed his point... The price of the fender eliminator is HIGH... It should include the light to use or not use... It should not be additional $$ for it.. But hey.. Charging for every little thing is the Corporate American Way... I am suprised the hardware kit isn't extra $$ as well..
TSTindustries but that being said... I love it and will be buying it for my new 2018 DRZ400SM.. If you all have any other products you'd like me to test on my new Supermoto, get with me! I'll post the entire installations and do in depth reviews.
I think you have a misconception about our kits. We have a unique business model where we sell things separately. We explain everything in detail, show photos, and provide videos so that there is no ambiguity about how we do things. This way the customer has the ability to customize their kit. So we don't charge extra for everything...instead we don't charge you for some things you may not want. We are a small family owned business, not corporate in any way. We strive to provide as much value as we can to our customers. If you would like to know why things we sell are priced a certain way then please call our support guys. They will spend some time with you and explain how we work. Thanks for taking the time to leave us your comments. I hope that you consider calling in and chatting with us.
@@TSTindustriesby far the best product of this type out there for the DRZ. Very reasonably priced for the quality and plug n play engineering. Love mine.
Can you make the license so its not so upright? Able to lay it a little flatter so it doesn't catch as much air?
Those license plate fasteners with the reflectors got to go they look goofy AF Everything else is good. That MRD exhaust looks pretty good never heard of that Company before end it looks too nice to be Chinese brand is it out of the US?
MRD is located in Riverside, California. They have a pretty big following with the DRZ crowd. See the reviews on thumpertalk.com
Looking at this kit cause I’m tired of busting my turn signals on the trail
is there a plug and play application to use soke of the pod turn signals on the rear with the integrated flasher from the brake light?
I agree. The plate light should be included. Although, What I want to know is can this kit be installed on a DR 650?
This doesn't work on a Dr 650
do i need the the description says it just adds 3 programmable modes to the tail light and im not sure what that means its necessary
TST Brake Light Modulator for OEM & TST Integrated Tail Light Suzuki DR-Z400S/M ?
Awesome. Now all I need is a headlight and shroud that doesn't scream 1982. I'm thinking dual round.
Haha, good luck in your quest! There are a few solutions out there that may suit your needs.
I have edge 2 tail light on my 2014 drz400sm This tst look way better.
We would have to agree. We'll hold on to one for you!
I need to know where to get this color scheme fairings and graphics.... This is my favorite look for the drz yet
That was an OE color scheme in 2015.
Do you guys make one for the 2020 DR200S?
I would love to get a 200 in the shop to make sure everything fits. Until someone shows up with one I cannot verify the fit of our parts. Even if they don't fit directly, we can whip up a kit really fast and have one on the bike in a day or so. If you are local then come on by.
Really great looking product, nice install video.
What brand of ratchet screwdriver (red handle) do you use? Trying to find the same one.
These aren't available anymore but you can still fins a Stanley Rotator Ratchet, which is basically the same thing.
Just orders one thanks, great video
Hope you enjoy it!
Why did you molest the cycle harness and not just the light harness!!
The connectors are neat
I like to have the license plate light connected to bike side because in some instances I remove the tail light without the need to remove the license plate light. This keeps their connections independent.
@@TSTindustries ok, I get it. Just made me cringe.
Are those little connectors water proof?
Well I finally broke the factory tail light from wheelies. Looks like it’s finally time to order the TST with express shipping lol
It will get you squared away cheaper and neater than stock...probably quicker too because we have them in stock and ready to go.
@@TSTindustries super easy install! Looks amazing. Thanks
The break lights are stuck on, any ideas? (running lights also, just to specify that it's not those I'm talking about. Also this is my second set and the last one worked.)
Please humor me and try the steps contained in this tech tip video before we troubleshoot any deeper

I'm glad you like it .
Do your turn signals bolt to the license plate bracket if I want to use them rather than the integrated turn signals? Would I just plug them in instead of the ones connected to the taillight?
Our signals are able to mount to the license plate bracket through the use of our pod signal mounting kit. You can absolutely leave the signals inside the tail light disconnected and use external signals. I am just unsure of the total length of connection reach needed from that location to the harness connectors. Our ARO18 signals are probably not a good choice there because they have pretty short wires. Our BL6 would probably work better. This is taking into consideration using those with our harness converters, as they extend the total connection reach and enable plug and play installation. I just can't know for sure if that is long enough for your described use. Another option that is less expensive but a bit crude is to clip off your plug and wires from your OEM signals and splice those into your new signals. This would guarantee proper length.
@@TSTindustries Thank you. When I do this I will probably get the turn signals and modify the wiring as needed. I just like the visibility of turn signals over the integrated ones.
Yamaha XT 250 ? Anytime soon
nice kit
Thank you
Great product and video!
I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.
So I ordered this and my tail light appears that I’m on the breaks when I’m not. definitely a safety concern I reached out to the company and haven’t gotten anything back from them yet. Hopefully there’s a way to fix this issue. If not I will be needing a refund
We're currently away from our office until tomorrow at 9am EST. For now, check out this video and see if this helps. -TST

You think the blinkers are bright enough for people to see? Versus something like the edge 2 where the blinkers are separate components from the main brake light?
There are many people that want an integrated tail light so we make them. You can actually use signals along with the tail light. We have the mounting kits and the signals. We leave it up to the customer to decide what they want to do because freedom means choice.
@@TSTindustries no I understand that, I also like the intergrated taillights myself , I was just curious how bright the signals are in person and if they were bright enough for most people to see on the road from peoples experience who have bought these. The LEDs from the video look bright from what I can tell
@@TSTindustries because personally I’d prefer to have the more slim look versus the blinker ears
This can only be installed on a Suzuki S or SM model? How about the E model?
I believe that the E model has no rear subframe so the mounting points on our parts would not be compatible with your bike.
Great tutorial! I should let you know that the link on the old version of this video, sending you to this video, does not work.
Thanks for letting us know, that link has now been fixed.
idk what tail light i have, its already a sequentail tail light...will this kit plug n play with it?
If you have the Edge light then the two studs for mounting that unit do fit in the holes in our brackets. This means that your light is compatible with our hardware. We do not typically sell the hardware without our tail light though. You will have to contact our customer service guys and ask them for a custom order.
But how do you put together the adjustable tilt version?
That is shown it that module's own video. You can find that video in the product page on our website or on our UA-cam channel
in this video are you showing us a taillight with the OEM Connector kit? Because my DRC Edge doesn't have that bulge in the middle area of the wires coming out of the tail light.
We are showing you the installation of our TST Exclusive Integrated Tail Light and Fender Eliminator system. This will be complete with OEM style connections for a plug-and-play installation. The DRC Edge is a different light system available on the market and will differ from ours.
cool, well i just bought this kit last night ;) can't wait!
If you loop out while wheeling would the taillight get destroyed or does it sit far enough in the fender where the fender would take the damage instead of the taillight?
More than likely the tail light would get destroyed. That tail fairing isn't the strongest either so fair chance that everything would show some signs of damage depending on how hard you hit.
It gets destroyed easily and it's kinda spendy
So buying one soon
Awesome.
Is this compatible with a 2015 model drz 400?
This kit is compatible with every year DRZ 400 S and SE from 2000 to 2023.
Why would my right side not be flashing? What should I check first?
We would need to go through a troubleshooting procedure with you. It could be a bunch of things. Please contact our support people through our website for proper help.
Wish my bike was as clean as this one during installation xD - dirt everywhere, stuck bolts
That just means you're riding it properly!
@@TSTindustries So since last night, my bike is completely taken apart and wiped down. It started with the taillight. The previous owner had it real dirty! I couldn't stand the sight. Thanks for your reply.
when will it be back on stock?
Im wondering the same
Is this compatible with the 2023 drz 400 s
That bike has gone completely unchanged outside of new color schemes so installing this kit shouldn't be an issue at all.
Do u need to get the relay for the led flashing fast or can u just leave it flashing fast
Fast flash won't damage anything but it may be distracting or confusing to drivers that you are signaling to.
TSTindustries thank you for the fast feedback 👍🏼
If these are street legal why don't the manufacturers just make them like this in the first place? It's less stuff and less complicated so they would even be cheaper!
Being street legal and DOT legal are two different animals!! The manufacture make every bike with the big ugly tail's, etc because the govt mandates it that way.
these are not legal if the police want to give you a hard time about it they will. so if you do install one of these make sure you keep the original cuz you are going to need to install it back when you get a referee ticket.
How can I make the brake light pulse when applying the brakes?
We are working on a brake light modulator unit that will be launching later this year. It will plug in between the OEM harness taillight plug and our taillight plug. Unfortunately we do not have a release date yet.
Anyone know if this will fit a 2000 drz400e? I am about to title mine for street use.
The 2000 E model does not have the rear section of frame that the OEM fender, lighting package, and other peripherals bolt onto. This would not be a direct bolt-on installation for you.
Does the sub harness coming with the tail light?
Yes it does
I hope the bracket isn't extremely thin and won't just crack like the current one on my DRZ.
MotoBoy the bracket that holds the assembly onto the bike is 14ga. Galvaneal steel. The bracket that holds the license plate onto the assembly is 16ga. Galvaneal steel. If these thicknesses are not adequate for you please do not buy our kit.
TSTindustries what an idiotic response. As if I'm supposed to know what thickness I need
We'll see. Already bought
I gave you specifics because you asked the question. We have been at this game for a number of years and our engineers have been designing these parts to be lightweight and practical. The only way it is going to crack is if you physically bend it and strain the material. Under normal use the brackets will outlast your bike. I hope this answer gives you more of the info you were looking for.
Yes, that's more of the type of answer I'm looking for...as long as it doesn't crack.
I'm not sure what the current brand is of the fender eliminator on the DRZ, but it seems like off-road riding, wheelies and of course the inherent vibration of singles put some stress on it causing it to crack. Mind you, the bike has never touched the ground nor scraped (I'm not that good at wheelies).
Where can I buy the sub harness?
We typically do not sell the sub harnesses on their own but perhaps we could accommodate. What happened to yours?
Is it 1 relay for front and rear, or do you need 2?
One relay for the entire bike.

I cant find the license plate light on your website
tstindustries.com/tst-led-low-profile-universal-fit-license-plate-light.html
I have your integrated system and turn signal modulator on my 2020 Ninja 650 KRT. I love it. It was easy to install.
The system for the DRZ is nice but the separate license plate illuminator is crap. I will NEVER tap into a factory wiring harness! That creates a resistance problem. And corrosion will eventually create an electrical problem on the motorcycle.
That's why when I see a used bike with a tail tidy, it's a pass for me. No thank you.
Another thing I will say about the integrated systems is that they become very much LESS VISIBLE to people around you should you have side cases on your bike
Would that fit a 2018 Yamaha WR250R as well
No it will not. The electrical connections are different and of different length, and the main bracket differs as well. We plan on releasing a setup for that bike but thus far have been unsuccessful at getting one in house. If you are local to us, and are willing to lend us the bike for R&D, you will get the setup for free.
Ok. I don`t have the bike yet but I am working on getting the bike but not sure when it will be hopefully I will have it soon so I can get back to riding again an meet some riders an maybe ask them some questions about bikes also where are you located at? An which rear tail light like that in the video would u think would work for a 2018 Yamaha WR250R bike?
ETA on when this will be back in stock?
Not at the moment
I have an update for you today. At the end of this week we have scheduled to produce 150 sets and have them ready for sometime next week. If you have already signed up for the email notification when they are in stock then you are all set otherwise I invite you to get on that list on our website.
does it fits on a husky 610 sm?
Unfortunately it will not fit that bike.
Hey. Do you sell on eBay? Can I send a link ....?
Will this fit my 2004 drz400s?
Yes. This kit fits all model years of DRZ400S and DRZ400SM produced in 2000 or later.
Why not make the electric whip one piece? What's with the big-ass plug in the middle? I see that as a problem in the dirt.
This light is used in a few different assemblies where we need to plug into different end plugs. We have sub-harnesses that accomplish that. The main 6-position plug is a Sumitomo sealed plug. Wateror mud will not get inside it so there is no need to worry. In fact, many Honda dual sport bikes use this plug on their taillight.
I bought this product and did the install. I am very happy with the results. Install was very easy and the bike looks so much better.
Is it legal in California? Thanks
You will have to refer to your local laws for legality.
Probably this product is know to cause cancer in California..... or unless somehow the Browns and Nancy Pelosi are getting some kind of kick back to keep their corrupt butts afloat.
lol best install video of the year, but its not legal , from where i am
Sorry to hear about that!
I see it’s not dot has anyone been pulled over for this?
Is it legal in Germany?
You will have to check your local laws.
Now you have tiny and hard to see rear turn signals. Awesome! - Sincerely, Nobody’s Mom Ever
Shoutout to everyone's mom.
@@TSTindustries 😆😎
Hate to ask this tedious question... Will it fit a 2013 DR-200SE?
We have not had that bike in the shop. What I know from research is that the rear section of that bike is different from the 400 and our parts do not fit without some additional ingenuity and modification
@@TSTindustries Thanks for the reply!
@@Meech320 for sure brother. Sorry i couldn't help ya better
Would cops bother me if I don't get the license plate light?
You would have to check your local laws and take into consideration your riding style/habits.
Don't you want to give me that drz
not really
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
why all that laughter?
Will this fit to suzuki rzm 450?
I think you mean RMZ450. That bike does not have any wiring for tail lighting and signals. From my knowledge, that is a pure dirt bike
Will this fit a 2001 drz400e?
I believe that the E model is the one with no subframe under the tail/fender. There is nothing there to readily mount our setup to. You would have to do some extra fabrication to make that happen.
